Ironically, Ms. Norwood claims to have two left feet, telling UsMagazine.com that she’s never been good at nailing choreography. “What people don’t understand is I have never been a good dancer!” Brandy said. “Dancing has never been one of my strongest points. With this show, you have to do things you’ve never done before, and I’ve never done anything like this. It’s a whole new experience!”

The new season of “DWTS” is set to premiere Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Can you read the minds of the True Blood creators? So far, season 3 has involved an egomaniacal vampire king and V-addicted werewolves — but fans are also following Sookie Stackhouse’s quest for her kidnapped love. Will the lustrous and ever-so-loyal Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) be tempted to betray her vampire lover Bill Compton (real-life fiancé Bill Moyer) for new blood?

Something big is brewing and the couple may find themselves at a crossroads on next week’s episode. “It will shake the very core of their relationship,” executive producer Alan Ball tells TV Guide. “Bill and Sookie’s love for each other is authentic and they want to make it work. But it might get harder and harder.”

Also harder for Stackhouse could be resisting drop-dead gorgeous Eric Northman (Alexander Skaarsgard) and his seduction attempts. She could also fall for her hunky, protective werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello)? “I can’t get into slinging matches about who’s better for Sookie because it’s just ridiculous,” says Moyer. “Bill is for Sookie, the love of her life.”

The late night saga continues!

In a statement released Tuesday, Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien describes his disappointment at the schedule shake-up announced by NBC on Sunday and the chance that The Jay Leno Show could move to 11:35, bumping the Tonight Showby a half hour.

"For 60 years the Tonight Showhas aired immediately following the late local news," O'Brien said in a statement. "I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn't the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking theLate Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.”

In the last few days, I've been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I've been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I've been absurdly lucky. That said, I've been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision. 


Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over the Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn't matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

It would appear that the latest rumors about Jay Leno's prime-time show are actually true. Today Jeff Gaspin, the chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment, confirmed that The Jay Leno Show's last stint at the 10pm slot would be February 12, according to People magazine.

Supposedly, there's not any other concrete details yet, but in an ideal world, the lineup would look like this: Leno for an 11:35 p.m. show, Conan O'Brien for 12:05 p.m. and then Jimmy Fallon following that. But, Gaspin said: "It's not a done deal yet."

Gaspin did say Leno's shot at an earlier show "did not meet affiliate needs" but that the two talk show hosts, Leno and O'Brien have been "incredibly gracious and professional." Hm.

No one is quite sure if O'Brien will stick with NBC, or change it up. There's been talk of other networks vying for him to make a switch. After revealing the ideal lineup of Leno, O'Brien, and Fallon, Gaspin said: "Beyond that is a private conversation and when it all settles, you can talk to them about that," Gaspin says. "We're back in conversation tomorrow."

Gaspin seems hopeful that O'Brien will go with the flow and stay with NBC: "Conan's motivation will become more clear as time goes on," he said. "We gave something important to him, which was The Tonight Show, made it clear that it was moving with him. Conan wanted the franchise of The Tonight Show; Jay wanted to tell jokes at 11:30. Still things [need] to be worked out." 

The True Blood casting news just keeps on coming!

After announcing that producers had found their werewolf Alcide in One Tree Hill’s Joe Manganiello and that Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard will play the mother of Lafayette, played by Nelsan Ellis, in the upcoming third season of HBO’s supernatural hit, Southland star Kevin Alejandro is joining the cast as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Alejandro — who you might also recognize from Ugly Betty or Weeds — will play Jesus, an orderly taking care of Lafayette’s mother Ruby Jean Reynolds, who is in a care facility.
Appearing in almost every episode of the third season, according to the report, Jesus and Lafayette will become romantically involved. Makes you wonder what Jesus’s secret will be — everyone in Bon Temps seems to have one!

On the heels of last month’s Gossip Girl cameo and her modeling stint in Vogue, Lady Gaga continues her media tour with an appearance on Bravo’s new fashion competition Launch My Line just after the new year. In the not-to-miss episode, tensions run high as the contestants are pitted against each other to see who can design the most boundary-pushing, Gaga-esque outfit. We can’t wait to see what the surrealist-chic chameleon will wear on-air — will she herself be able to outdo the shimmery 30 foot long crimson red gown she donned to perform “Bad Romance” at the request of Blair Waldorf? And how will Gaga react to the cast members as they attempt to channel her look? Tune in at 10PM EST January 6 on Bravo.

Just weeks after Irina Shabayeva was named winner of Project Runway’s sixth season — and first on Lifetime — the show is making a swift return on Jan. 14 (10 p.m. EST). And while last season found the designers transplanted to Los Angeles, the competition will return to its roots in New York City.

Sixteen competitors from all over the world — the cast boasts designers from the Ivory Coast, Dominican Republic, the Philippines, China and Mexico — will face off for $100,000, a spread in Marie Claire magazine and the chance to launch their own line. Returning as well, Tim Gunn will mentor the contestants alongside host (and judge) Heidi Klum and judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.

Like last year, Lifetime will air Runway’s companion show, Models of the Runway, immediately after the design competition (11 p.m. EST).

There’s a hot new werewolf on the scene!

Taylor Lautner may be PEOPLE’s most wanted star in 2010, but True Blood fans will have something to growl about now that the show has cast Joe Manganiello as Alcide Herveaux, who will appear in season 3 as a love interest for Sookie Stackhouse.

In the books by Charlaine Harris that HBO’s hit is based on, the werewolf Alcide helps Sookie (played by Anna Paquin on the show) search for her missing vampire beau Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer).

According to EW.com, which first reported the casting news, producers were looking for a “good-looking, rough-around-the-edges, articulate, heroic, and decent” man for the role.
They found their guy in Manganiello, who is best known for playing bartender Owen on One Tree Hill and his recurring role as Brad on How I Met Your Mother.
In another bit of casting news, Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard will guest star on True Blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as the mother of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Merlotte’s short-order cook who illegally sold vampire blood.

Nine months after she was assaulted by Chris Brown, Rihanna finally opens up about the night that left her bruised and bloody.

"This happened to me. ... It can happen to anyone," the singer, 21, tells Diane Sawyer in an interview airing Thursday on Good Morning America and on 20/20 on Friday.

Rihanna says it was particularly difficult because of the special place Brown held in her heart: "He was definitely my first big love."

Both singers have worked to move on. Brown is serving a community labor sentence in Virginia and working on new music for an album titled Graffiti that will drop Dec. 15. Rihanna is shaking things up with her edgy fashion and releasing her fourth album, Rated R, on Nov. 23. The album's first single "Russian Roulette" debuted last week.

Michael Jackson will receive a 16-dancer salute on the Oct. 20 live results show of Dancing with the Stars. Executive producer Conrad Green tells PEOPLE that the show’s professional dancers have been preparing a special tribute to three of Jackson’s most iconic songs.

“A lot of our dancers were very upset when he died. He was an inspiration to them and they wanted to do something fitting to honor him,” Green says.

Jackson’s music has been featured “like 13 or 14 times during the course of the show,” he says. “This is quite personal for a lot of our dancers and our production.”

The number will be choreographed by several of the DWTS pros, including Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, Maksim Chmerkovskiy,
Tony Dovolani and Cheryl Burke.

In season 2, Burke and her celebrity partner Drew Lachey performed to Jackson’s “Thriller.” The routine earned Burke her first Emmy nomination for choreography. “It’s such an honor to choreograph and perform in this tribute,” Burke says. “His music and his artistry was such an inspiration to me as a dancer.”

As for which songs will be featured, Green says he wants to “keep that a surprise for our audience. They are three of his most iconic songs of his career.” Green admits that picking just three songs wasn’t easy given Jackson’s long list of hits.
“To be honest, we could do a whole show to his songs,” he says. “But we want it to be compact and memorable. It will be a heartfelt performance from our dancers.”

Jackson’s siblings, LaToya and Jermaine, have been to the show this season, and DWTS singer Darryl Phinnessee worked with Jackson and performed at his July 7 memorial. “We have a lot of crossover with people that know him, people that worked with him, and were inspired for him,” Green says, “and we hope to give a tribute that is fitting.

Looks like people are loving 'The Cleveland Show.' The African American-oriented spin-off of FOX's animated romp 'The Family Guy' drew the best numbers among adults between the ages of 18-49 during its Sunday night debut. According to Nielsen, the animated series – featuring the voice of Tony Award and Emmy Award-nominated actress Sanaa Lathan -- was the second-best overall behind the premieres of the much-hyped 'Jay Leno Show' two weeks ago. And rapper Kanye West didn't even have to shed a tear.

Solange is about to enter a hairy situation. Even though she doesn’t understand the fuss over chopping her locks off, the 23-year-old singer is set to talk about the experience with Oprah.


Beyoncé’s younger sister will make her first appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Wednesday, September 30, to discuss her hair and why she decided to cut it all off. Photos of a nearly bald Solange were a hot topic on blogs when they surfaced in July.

The “I Decided” songstress previously addressed the situation on Twitter. “i. have. done. this. twice. in. my. life. i. was 16. i was 18. did. not care about your opinion. then. dont. care. now,” she tweeted. “i. just. wanted. to. be. free. from. the. bondage. that. black. women sometimes. put. on. themselves. with. hair.”

Oprah will also share her hair experiences on the episode, while Chris Rock promotes his new documentary, Good Hair.

What qualifies Lauren Conrad to be a guest judge on America’s Next Top Model alongside Tyra Banks? Well, she has designed her own clothing line and hired models for runway shows; she’s handled castings for photo shoots and fittings while working for Teen Vogue and People’s Revolution. She’s also a spokesperson for Avon’s mark line, a fashionable fixture at N.Y. Fashion Week and has been the subject of many a magazine spread.

Not to mention she’s a longtime fan of the CW’s model competition. “I don’t watch a lot of TV, but it is one of the few shows I watch. I’m such a fan of Tyra. So when they contacted me, I said yes,” Conrad tells PEOPLE. “I knew it would be a great experience. [Working with the Top Model judges including Miss J Alexander and Nigel Barker] was a treat.”
What wasn’t quite as easy, breezy or beautiful about the experience was the responsibility of taking one contestant out of the running and ending her runway dreams. “That’s the part I hated,” Conrad says. “It was so hard judging someone as every girl had qualities that should allow them to continue on. I am one of those people that wish they could all be winners.”

Conrad’s episode, which airs tonight on the CW (8 p.m. EST), features a classic ANTM challenge — the nude photo shoot. The contestants posed topless with jockeys and racehorses at the Santa Anita Park racetrack.
Not so standard is the season’s twist which required all of the participants less than 5′7″-tall. But Conrad approves of the change. “I love the twist. I think women of all sizes are beautiful, so it is refreshing to see models of different heights. It’s a bit more relatable to us short girls.”

After being dropped off the CW schedule earlier this year, despite a petition signed by a million, popular US comedy-drama The Game has been picked up by BET, as confirmed by one of the show's producers Matthew Cherry on Twitter:

Just weeks ago Solange Knowles caused an internet buzz when she shaved off her long hair into a natural, closely-cropped cut. And now Tyra Banks reveals on her Twitter that she is gearing up to go natural and lose her extensions. “Guess What! I’m rockin’ my REAL hair on my talk show September 8th.” she says. “No fake hair at all! Will be the hair coming out of my scalp! 4 all 2 C!” She continues, “no ponytails, no ballet bun head. hair will be out and free!” We are setting our TVs to record now!

Britney Spears hasn't appeared on The Late Show in nearly three years, but Tonight she'll deliver one of the show's classic bits: the Top 10 list.

Spears last appeared on David Letterman's show when she made a surprise cameo in November 2006. The singer, who recently finished the European leg of her Circus tour, begins another string of concerts in America on Aug. 20.
