Don't expect to see Chloë Sevigny in any hot tub scenes on the new season of Jersey Shore.

When asked by Interview magazine if there was any truth to the rumors that she's dating the show's star, Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, the Big Love actress says, "No, but I wish, because that would be hilarious."

"That would be the weirdest couple in the world. It would be like the apocalypse," she adds. "We represent extremes, in opposite directions. So for us two to come together, it would be a very strange meeting of the minds or colliding of two worlds."

But could there be a romance in the future? While the indie-darling and the reality star might make the ultimate odd couple, Sevigny admits to finding Pauly D "funny and easygoing" on the show.

"I haven't watched that many episodes, but of the ones I have ... if I were to pick one of the dudes on the show, I'd definitely pick him," says Sevigny.

Viva the New Year!

In what was sure to be one of the most star-studded concerts of the year, Jay-Z and Coldplay rocked Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, performing at the grand opening of The Cosmopolitan, a $3.9 billion hotel on the famous Strip.

But those two acts weren't the only ones to take the stage: Beyoncé, Kanye West and John Mayer all made surprise appearances during Jay-Z's performance.

Beyoncé joined her husband for "Forever Young" and sang "Halo" with Chris Martin. Mayer played guitar with Jay-Z on his hit song "99 Problems."

"All the problems you were going through have been kicked out the door," Jay-Z told the crowd before a collaborative performance of West's "Homecoming," which featured Jay-Z, West and Martin.

Gwyneth Paltrow was also on hand to watch the show – and ring in the 2011 with her husband and close friends.

The intimate crowd was littered with celebrities to witness the show that Jay-Z called "once in a lifetime." Following their Mexican vacation, Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez were spotted in the audience. Diaz spent some of the evening chatting with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, not far from Ellen Pompeo and Blake Lively.

Before the concert Pompeo said she doesn't make New Year's resolutions, but she has a goal for the year, which is "being happy every day."

Pompeo added, "I have a great job, a great husband, a great baby. I have a lot to be thankful for all the time."

Following the concert, the stars headed to Marquee Las Vegas where famed DJ Eric Morrillo entertained the crowd.

Jay-Z (Bauer Griffin)British rockers Coldplay and hip-hop superstar Jay-Z have reportedly signed up to perform at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas resort on New Year's Eve 2011. 

The event is being organized by celebrity party planner Colin Cowie and will be invite only, with no tickets being put on general sale to the public. Guests will be treated to separate sets from Coldplay and Jay-Z before the two acts take to the stage together.

The rapper’s wife Beyonce Knowles is also said to be planning to perform in Las Vegas on the same night so that she can be with her husband to celebrate the landmark date.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Organizers have spent millions securing the acts. The word is that Beyonce is now looking for a Vegas New Year's gig so she will be in town with Jay."

Jay-Z and Coldplay have collaborated before on the track "Lost +," which featured on the band’s EP Prospekt's March. The two acts performed the track together at the 2009 Grammy Awards and have toured together.

Chris Martin and Jay-Z are also good friends, with the rap star recently revealing that the singer’s children, Apple and Moses, call him “Uncle Jay.”
