Mariah Carey On HSN

Mariah Carey returned to television for the first time since giving birth to her twins. The new mom spoke about her babies and got a visit from husband Nick Cannon while launching her new lifestyle collection on HSN.

During the live chat, Mimi showed off the floral fashions inspired by her visits to Capri and joked about the name for her fragrance Lollipop Bling. “No, I didn’t select that name,” she said. “Sorry, it was something I couldn’t undo. It wasn’t my favorite name but people love it.”

She also plugged her latest fragrance collection named after her songs. “There’s a version with a very popular singer named Trey Songz and we kinda did a duet with this song,” she said of “Inseparable.” “So it’s ironic that I have this remix of the song ‘Inseparable’ and I think my label Universal Records should put it out.”

Nick paid his wife a visit and the proud parents gushed about their twins Monroe and Morrocan. “I believe our son looks just like Mariah and I think our daughter looks like me,” said Nick.

New mommy Mariah Carey has finally surfaced, and so has an R. Kelly remix of one of her songs. Mimi’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel track “Betcha Gon’ Know” was remixed by R. Kelly for the diva’s never-released Angels Advocate LP. Though that remix album never saw the light of day, we still get to hear the song — check out the R&B crooner singing from the perspective of a woman with an adulterous husband on Mariah’s tune.

This is the second R. Kelly remix of a pop song we’ve heard this week, following his spin on Britney Spears’ “Till The World Ends.” He also took a whirl on Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation.”

Mariah Carey (FlynetPictures.com)Mariah Carey wasn't going to let her babies be delivered without a dramatic, glamorous backdrop. The diva singer insisted that her twins be welcomed into the world in synchrony to one of her famous songs. Or as hubby Nick Cannon coined the planned moment, it "was a production."

He said on The Gayle King Show this week: "Now my wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song, but a live performance from Mariah Carey -- her Madison Square performance of Fantasy -- so they came out to a round of applause."

Call it self-indulgent behavior, but one could argue it's for art's sake.

The parents welcomed their twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, on May 30th, and we can only imagine Mrs. Carey being burped on or having to wake up in the middle of the night to their cries. Or maybe she'll have an entourage trained for those duties.

Proud parents Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have said that the names of their twins would be unique but not crazy, and they were only half right. Showbiz Tonight reports that their daughter has been named Monroe Cannon and their son Moroccan Scott Cannon. Monroe comes off as a beautiful, old Hollywood type of name. But Moroccan Scott? Sounds like a fusion restaurant featuring cuisine from Africa and Scotland. What do you think of Mariah and Nick’s choice in monikers? Weird, or wonderful?

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon (Pacific Coast News)Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are now proud parents -- of two! The singer's twins were born Saturday afternoon, reportsUs magazine. The twins couldn't have picked a better day to enter the world -- it's the couple's third wedding anniversary!

According to Mariah's rep, her baby girl was born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 8 inches long; her baby boy followed, weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches. The family is happy and healthy, and the kiddos have not been named yet.

Apparently Nick rushed his wife to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom, and they were cool and calm upon getting to the hospital because the singer assumed she was having another false alarm. But, not so! "It was right out of an I Love Lucy skit," their rep said.

A tweet from Mariah's rep on Twitter also confirmed the great news. "Congratulations to Mariah & Nick on the birth of !! Born, April 30th at 12:07pm ET. Mommy, Daddy & are all doing fine!" the post read.

Mariah Carey's imminently forthcoming twins may not have arrived in time for Easter, but she celebrated with them all the same.

On Sunday, the singer, 42, Tweeted a picture of her enormous belly, adorned with a pastel blue Easter egg with one red heart and one blue, in dedication to her twins with Nick Cannon.

The expectant mom, who's clearly a fan of belly art – as evidenced by her having embellished her belly with a painted butterfly last month – Tweeted on Sunday: "HAPPY EASTER! Ummm. READY!!!!! Done and done."

Well, almost done. The twins are due to arrive early next month.

Mariah Carey has a couple of new roles coming to her this year: She'll become a mom (of twins!) soon and will have some sort of role on TV talent show The X Factor, says the show's creator Simon Cowell.

Simon Cowell (Pacific Coast News)In a radio interview, Mr. Cowell said: “I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows. I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with.”

Simon is excited about having Mariah involved with The X Factor because he is such a big fan of her music. He added: “She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

As for the judging panel, only one person has been officially named: music bigwig LA Reid. Otherwise, rumors have gone around about stars like Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger,Jessica Simpson and Katy Perry taking seats with him.

Rihanna turned down an offer because she's too busy with her own music. She said: "It's something that I would have loved to do, actually. But our schedule doesn't allow it and it's a demanding schedule to be on that show. You have to be around months at a time, which is impossible for me."

Mariah Carey is about to give birth, but before she brings her twins into the world, the pop diva is posing nude for Life & Style. A glowing Mimi bares her pregnant belly on the magazine’s cover.

“I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Mariah tells Life & Style. “My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.”

The boy and girl are not due for another few weeks, but they are eager to meet their parents. “The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable,” she shares. “Especially the girl—clearly she’s a diva in training! We didn’t start shooting until 1:30 a.m. because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!”

Her doting husband Nick Cannon is singing his wife’s praises. “I thought I couldn’t love Mariah more,” he gushes. “But I have a whole new appreciation and admiration for her.”

The mom-to-be adds, “Now I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who’ve had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples. We need to have Mother’s Day once a week!”

Mariah Carey can't wait to pop out her twins – but she also really seems to be enjoying her pregnancy.

Just one day after Tweeting a post – with a happy face – about contractions that sent her briefly to the hospital on her birthday, the singer, 42, posted a photo of a huge butterfly painted on her baby bump with the words "dem babies" written above the image.

"My attempt @ festiveness on 327!" she Tweeted Monday. "Comin soon #dembabies! LYMA+thanx 4 making me happy:)."

In her original Tweet on Sunday, Carey wrote: "[The babies] almost came on 3/27 … We have a few more weeks 2 go but- wow!!!: )."

Her hubby Nick Cannon, 30, praised his leading lady, Tweeting, "[Women] are the ones that have to be the strongest in the whole ordeal! I am in awe of my wife!"

It will be one of each for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.

The couple, who are having twins, are expecting a boy and a girl, a source confirms to DIDNTINVITEME.

So far the parents-to-be have been cautious about revealing too many details about the babies since the couple had a "long journey" to parenthood, Cannon said in December.

Cannon, 30, and Carey, 41, are preparing for the arrival of the twins' by "decorating and designing" the babies' nurseries – one in Los Angeles and one in New York, Cannon tells our friends @PEOPLE.

Meanwhile, Cannon says that his wife has also been cooking up a storm and staying active with daily swims.

Mariah Carey is currently eating for 3 (she's pregnant with twins!) and the singer has discovered a sweet trick to making sure she's not indulging in every single craving she has while prego.

Mariah Carey (Pacific Coast News)Husband Nick Cannon explained: "I think she's figured out brilliantly that when she craves stuff she doesn't necessarily have to eat it. When she cooks, she cooks everything from scratch and then the cravings go away. So I get stuck with eating all the food. I'll be gaining weight during this pregnancy."

Nick, 30, also revealed he is in awe of his wife and admitted she is handling expectant parenthood much better than he is.
He told RadarOnline: "She's holding up beautifully. To see this strength! It's a different type of strength to carry around two babies. She's not even concerned with her aches and pains which I'm sure are great. She's so nurturing right now. It's wonderful. It's amazing to see."

"I'm extremely excited about bringing new life into the world. It's a journey every single day. It's something new. I'm nervous. I'm excited. We're just taking it one day at a time."

If all the First Family wanted for Christmas were some carols sung by the pros, they were in luck this year. Annie Lennox, Maxwell, Glee’s Matthew Morrison, and Miranda Cosgrove joined the season’s superstar, Mariah Carey, in presenting the Obamas with the gift of song at the “Christmas In Washington” concert, which aired last night on TNT. And while she wasn’t exactly bursting with diva fireworks the way she does in her new “Auld Lang Syne” video, those who find Mimi’s ditties every bit as important to the Christmas tradition as egg nog and mistletoe are sure to be in good cheer upon viewing Mariah’s performances of “One Child” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” Click here to see the vids.

Wearing a billowy red dress adorned with a bow, the preggers songbird looked every bit like a big holiday gift herself – though beau Nick Cannon already spilled the beans on what’s inside (twins!). Rather than perform the modern yuletide staple “All I Want for Christmas (Is You)” or her newest boppy Christmas single “Oh Santa”, Mariah chose a couple more subdued and graceful tracks from her recent holiday offering Merry Christmas II You, backed by a choir on both numbers.

Forget pickles and ice cream — Mariah Carey is sticking to healthy snacks when it comes to pregnancy cravings.

“My taste bud situation is unparalleled,” the expectant singer, 41, tells Extra. “I don’t know what it is, but I’m just about fruit for some reason.”

That said, she won’t accept just anything that falls off the tree. “It has to be really good for me to like it,” she says.

Other side effects of pregnancy include expanding in more places than just her belly.

“My fingers obviously swelled a little bit,” she says. “I can’t even get this ring off if I tried.”

The impending birth will even affect their holiday plans. Carey said she and her husband Nick Cannon usually go to Aspen, but will skip it in 2010.

“I can’t go there this year because of the altitude,” she explained. “We’re figuring it out. Looking at different options.”

While Carey is open about her new favorite food, she’s not prepared to share certain other details — including confirming raging rumors she’s expecting twins.

“I’m not telling anyone,” she insists.

Mariah Carey has a special guest by her side for her upcoming ABC special, Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You: her mother, Patricia.

Wearing an elegant black dress, the singer will belt out Christmas songs from her new album, Merry Christmas II You, for the show, which is set to air Dec. 13 (9 p.m. ET). It was taped at Los Angeles's Orpheum Theater.

Mariah Carey (Getty Images)Mariah Carey announced she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon last month, and she doesn’t want any help when her new arrival comes.

She said: “I’m going to be hands on, ‘I wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh, I’m a having a child, yay! Let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby. Take the kid.’ That doesn’t work for me. I don’t believe in that.”

Mariah has also hinted she is planning to put her career on hold so she can completely focus on her child.

She added to Britain’s OK! magazine: “You can get caught up in Hollywood-land and that’s maybe not the best thing for kids, because they didn’t ask for it. I don’t know that I always felt safe as a child and that’s nobody’s fault. I feel like it’s important to be responsible and to think, well maybe if I do this it’s not the best thing for my child. You have to take a backseat a little bit, and as someone in the public eye you’re not used to doing that.”

Mariah is confident she and Nick, 30, will make great parents, although she isn’t sure if she wants a big family.

She said: “I think we will make good parents and that we will be able to figure out how to do it properly. We’d be happy with one. We’re so busy -- if you have six kids running around no one gets what they need. What I want is to have children in a good way, with the right husband, with the right family life.”

With baby on board, Mariah Carey made an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of “Lopez Tonight.” The merry songstress said that her husband Nick Cannon is trying to convince her to wear flat shoes. “My feet repel that,” said Mimi, who showed off the boots she’ll soon be selling on HSN.

She also dished about her sleeping habits, diva dogs, how she celebrated Christmas growing up, and recording with her opera singer mother.

George Lopez even presented MC with a legacy video (“I’ve already arranged for you to be married off to Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s unborn baby”) and fake ultrasound footage. Share in the laughs below:

Let the holiday celebration begin! With her new album Merry Christmas II You in stores now, Mariah Carey gets in the X-mas spirit in the Ethan Lader-directed video for “Oh Santa!” Styled like a ’50s variety TV show performance, the festive clip sees the pregnant songbird spreading cheer in a sexy Santa outfit while backed by a band, dapper dancers, cheerleaders, gospel singers, and school boys. Even Santa himself can’t resist popping in to pay a visit. Watch Mimi’s Christmas spectacular below.

Mariah Carey started making the promo rounds for her Christmas album Merry Christmas II You with a first stop on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” During her last appearance on “Ellen,” the talk show host tried to serve her champagne to see if she was pregnant. But this time, she poured out apple cider for the mom-to-be. The Christmas queen spoke about not wanting to know the baby’s sex and Ellen presented her with high-heeled slippers in true MC fashion!

After months of “is she or isn’t she,” Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have announced that they are expecting their first child together. “Yes, we are pregnant. This is true,” confirmed Mimi this morning on the “Today” show, an advance look at a three-part “Access Hollywood” interview.

“It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to have…. to hold onto a shred of privacy. And that was not easy,” she continued.

The couple stayed mum on the exact date they’re expecting, but Mariah revealed that it will be some time in the spring. “It’s still early, I’m expecting in the spring, I’ll say that. I don’t want to give too much of like, specific outlines,” she said.

“The greatest gift on Earth is a child,” chimed Cannon, who sat in on the interview and referred to the pregnancy as “absolutely emotional” news. “I mean obviously the greatest gift on Earth is a child,” he continued. “But … you know how much we have been through, you know.”

This is the second time that Mimi and Nick have conceived a child, having previously kept a pregnancy and miscarriage secret from the world. “It was really sad so we had to just, we had really to absorb this and take it in,” Carey said of her misfortune two years ago. Cannon added, “And that’s what I said, like her strength would literally be during the day so festive and smiling obviously for cameras and spending time with everyone and you know, literally that night crying herself to sleep.”

On the musical front, Mariah will give birth to another baby, her second Christmas album Merry Christmas II You, next week.
