A Texas baseball fan fell 20 feet to his death after reaching over a barricade for a ball tossed to the crowd by an all-star player, with former President George W. Bush in attendance.

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has said that he is " very distraught" after the man fell head first at the Arlingtion stadium. The married man's son was with him and witnessed the incident, according to the Associated Press.

Arlington Fire Department officials said the man, who witnesses said was conscious after the fall, "went into full arrest" while being transported by ambulance. He was pronounced dead at a Fort Worth hospital less than an hour after he fell, the AP reported.

The man has been identified as Shannon Stone of the Brownwood Fire Department by the Brownwood News after Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston confirmed that a Brownwood firefighter died at a Texas Rangers baseball game in Arlington.

"We had a very tragic accident tonight and one of our fans lost their life reaching over the rail trying to get a ball," team president Nolan Ryan said somberly after the Rangers' 6-0 victory over Oakland. "As an organization, and as our team members and our staff, we're very heavy-hearted about this, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family."

Hamilton is "very distraught over this, as the entire team is," Ryan said.

Ronnie Hargis, a fellow fan seated in the front row Thursday night, had spoken to Stone during the game and tried to grab him as he fell through the gap between the seats and the outfield wall, according the AP.

"He went straight down. I tried to grab him, but I couldn't," Hargis said. "I tried to slow him down a little bit."

Thursday's tragedy marks the second deadly fall at a Major League baseball game this season. A 27-year-old man died in May when he fell 20 feet at a Colorado Rockies game and struck his head on concrete.

When I first saw the preview of this video on the news I was outraged. Then after carefully reviewing this video my opinion quickly changed. The officer was clearly attempting to arrest the first girl for allegedly jaywalking. Why her friend tried to come and play "captain Save em'" is beyond my understanding. Then they both came at the officer trying to fight him. To all my close personal friends out there if you are being arrested, I will stand back and follow you to the station but I WILL NOT fight an officer! What was they thinking?

As "Extra's" Terri Seymour chatted up "Grown Ups" stars Salma Hayek, Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph, they got an expected guest -- a harmless but rather large snake --- which sent the girls into a tizzy, as they scrambled to get away from the reptile, especially the frantic, screaming Salma.

"It was like a python. It was thick. Its head was like this like a cobra!" Bello exclaimed afterward.

And what about Salma? "She split. She's on the next plane," Rudolph said. "She's in the hospital," Bello laughed.

For her ninth birthday, Kayleigh Espinosa took a trip to Dallas and instead of sightseeing, she got an eyeful of a naked Erykah Badu, who was filming her controversial video for “Window Seat.” The mother of the girl was less than pleased and plans to file a complaint with police. “I thought it was pretty gross. I don’t want to see it again ’cause I’m little,” said Kayleigh.

The man who was accused of allegedly raping five of his daughters, three of whom who bore six of his children is finally unmasked. He is award-winning director Aswad Ayinde, aka Charles McGill. Ayinde is most noted for directing the "Killing Me Softly" video by The Fugees.
The 51-year-old director, who also describes himself as a soft drink entrepreneur, faces 27 charges, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, lewdness, child endangerment, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact and the list goes on. Ayinde is also being held on a $1-million bond.

There are five trials scheduled for each of the daughters he allegedly raped and abused. The first begins next month, according to prosecutor Lisa Squitieri. The daughter's names have not yet been released, and their present whereabouts are unknown.

The serial malcontent, prosecutors state, is a religious fanatic, who is obsessed with creating a pure bloodline - his reasoning for raping his children. The majority of the alleged molestations took place in an abandoned East Orange, New Jersey, funeral home, where apparently the family had squatted for quite some time. Court records state that the Ayinde girls were violated from the 1980s to 2002.

Ayinde allegedly beat his children in to submission incessantly with objects like wooden boards. According to police reports, he even used steel-toed boots to kick them. The children, who were home-schooled, never attempted to escape or alert anyone of their nightmarish situation. Ex-wife Beverly Ayinde, who has nine children with the offender, claims she would have been beaten if she even uttered the word "pedophile." Yet the woman never turned her demented spouse into authorities either.

She testified at a pretrial hearing, "He said the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen." Beverly, who married him in 1977, told the court, "I was afraid to ever accuse him of being demented or being a pedophile. I knew the word, but I wouldn't dare use it because it would result in a beating."

Ayinde even moved to Brooklyn, passed himself off as an artist and made claims that his grown daughters were, in fact, his wives. He wound up impregnating two other women who gave him three more children. One of his girlfriends was a lawyer at a top New York City law firm.
Three of his daughters, who are now older than age 18, gave birth to children with unspecified disabilities. Ayinde delivered them. Two more babies were stillborn and buried by the maniacally controlling father.

A 2006 arrest prompted an internal probe by the New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services. The agency delved in to how the deranged suspect could have turned his daughters into his personal sex slaves without them turning against him. Some of the violations allegedly occurred while the family was under investigation by the state child welfare agency and after

Ayinde had been arrested and pleaded guilty to assault and child endangerment.
The self-appointed prophet's trial can include testimony about the physical and mental cruelties he imposed on other family members a state judge in Paterson, N.J., ruled earlier today.

The 15-year-old girl charged with teaming with her boyfriend to murder her mom threw out a surprise in court Monday: a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

During the brief hearing in a Northern California courtroom, Tylar Witt furrowed her brow and entered the insanity plea. Her boyfriend, Steven Colver, 20, pleaded not guilty to the murder last June of 47-year-old Joanne Witt.

Witt's defense attorney declined to explain the plea to the media. Colver's defense attorney, Dain Weiner, says he's not sure what's going on. "I don't know what facts they will be basing that defense on, or how those facts will mesh with our defense," Weiner says.

The couple are accused of plotting to murder Joanne Witt in her El Dorado Hills home after she showed sheriff's deputies her then-14-year-old daughter's diary and accused Colver of statutory rape.

Prosecutors say Tylar drugged her mother and then Colver stabbed her 20 times and slashed her throat with a butcher knife. A judge recently ruled that Tylar's apparent role in the horrific crime warrants her being tried as an adult.

Both defendants also pleaded not guilty to special circumstances of lying in wait and of killing a witness – enhancements that could mean life in prison if they are convicted. More could come out about the insanity plea when the court holds a hearing March 26 on numerous pretrial motions.
