Lil’ Mama is singing a new tune. The “Lip Gloss” rapper has issued a statement apologizing for crashing Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ VMA performance.
“I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys,” she told MTV News. “I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”

Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer Monday. He was 57.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," his rep tells PEOPLE in a statement.
A gifted dancer, a rugged outdoorsman, a romantic leading man and a loving husband, Swayze was also, as his brother Don put it, "a warrior" in his cancer fight.
The actor continued working on his A&E series The Beast even as he underwent chemotherapy – and never lost hope. About his prognosis, he did admit in a Barbara Walters interview that aired in January, "There's a lot of fear here. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm [asking], 'Why me?' "
A month before, Swayze had issued a statement to PEOPLE in regard to speculation about his health, saying that such questions "cast a negative shadow on the positive and good fight I'm fighting."
Texas Native
One of five children raised in Houston, Texas, by Patsy, a dance teacher, and Jesse, a champion rodeo cowboy, Swayze grew up dancing in his mom's studio and met his future wife, Lisa Niemi, when the two teenagers were both students there.
It was the beginning of one of Hollywood's most enduring romances: Swayze and Niemi, 53, were married 32 years and were "so inspiring to all of us," says their friend, actress Natasha Richardson.
Over the years, the couple – both pilots who often flew together and who shared a love of horseback riding and the outdoors – would see Swayze's career take off.
Dirty Dancing and Ghost
After breaking through in 1983's The Outsiders, he secured a spot in movie romance history with iconic turns in 1987's Dirty Dancing and 1990's Ghost. In all his roles, he cited Lisa as an inspiration.
"Lisa and I have built just about every character I've done," he told PEOPLE in 2007. "You have to understand, we have an ease. ... We've been partners for a long time."
It was Lisa who proved a "pillar of strength" during the trying past year, said her brother-in-law Don. United in their focus to overcome the awful odds – pancreatic cancer has just a 5 percent survival rate within five years of diagnosis – the couple maintained a fierce determination.
In fall 2008, he told The New York Times that although chemo had been "hell on wheels," he refused to quit fighting.
"There is probably that little bird that flies through your insides and says, 'I sure would like to make a mark in life,'" he said. "I've made a pretty decent mark so far – nothing to scoff at. But it does make you think: Wait a minute. There's more I want to do. Lots more. Get on with it."

In true VMA form, the MTV awards show did not stick to the script.
The first winner of the night, Taylor Swift for best female video, was victim to this when she was rudely and quickly interrupted by Kanye West, who cut off her acceptance speech. He stole the microphone to announce that fellow nominee Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time," in "Single Ladies."
"I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage," Swift recalled after the show. "And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."
For her part, Beyoncé appeared shocked by the outburst and the crowd booed the rapper. Off-camera, when West returned to his seat, audience members gave a still-stunned Swift (who was ushered off the stage before finishing her speech) a standing ovation.
After the incident, West, who was photographed drinking what looked like liquor on the red carpet, was not in his seat at Radio City Music Hall. A security guard tells PEOPLE the rapper left the venue and would not be allowed to come back inside.
"I don't want to start anything," Swift said after the show when asked about hard feelings. "I had a great day tonight. I've been sent so many text messages and everyone's been really nice. I've had a really, really fun night."
Stars watching the show and tweeting immediately posted their thoughts on the incident. "Kanye needs to learn how to wait his turn," Zac Hanson wrote. "I am sure he will get plenty of mic time to say something stupid later in the show."
Country singer John Rich went even further with his tweet: “KanyeWest is a lowlife. He needs to have his @@@ kicked in the middle of the stage right now! What a piece of @@@@!!! Go TAYLOR SWIFT.”
Pink, who was also nominated for best female video, tweeted: “Kanye west is the biggest piece of s– on earth. Quote me.”
And Katy Perry followed suit: “F– U KANYE. IT'S LIKE U STEPPED 0N A KITTEN.”
Later, when Diddy and Jamie-Lynn Sigler took the stage to announce the best male video winner (rapper TI took it), they mentioned each of the nominees, including West, who was loudly booed by the crowd.
After Kanye West cut off best female video winner Taylor Swift at the Video Music Awards in New York on Sunday, the night’s top winner came to her rescue.
While accepting the Moonman for video of the year, Beyoncé Knowles invited Swift onto the stage so she could finish her speech, which West interrupted when she beat out Knowles on the night's first category.
"This is amazing," Knowles said. "I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life, so I would like for Taylor to come out and have her moment."
A smiling Swift came out and said, "Maybe we can try this again." She continued, thanking "all my fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer."
The two winners, both in bright red dresses, hugged and left the stage together.
"It was so wonderful and gracious of her," Swift told reporters after the show. "She's always been a great person and I thought I couldn't love Beyoncé more and tonight happened and it was just wonderful."
Kanye West Apologizes to Taylor Swift
Kanye West is "SOOOOO SORRY" for interrupting Taylor Swift at Sunday’s Video Music Awards. The rapper posted an apology on his Web site’s blog after the show in his usual style of all caps.
"I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment," he wrote. "Beyonce's video was the best of this decade . . . I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I'm sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor."
The first winner of the night, Swift won best female video but was cut off during her acceptance speech by the rapper, who took her microphone and announced that fellow nominee Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time," in "Single Ladies."
"I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage," Swift recalled after the show. "And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."
“I'm still very happy for Taylor," West wrote. "I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry."

After months of speculation, revealing photos and chatty sources, Tom Brady has confirmed the good news: wife Gisele Bündchen is, indeed, pregnant.
In an interview with ESPN's Chris Berman airing Sunday on SportsCenter and Monday Night Countdown, the 32-year-old New England Patriots quarterback reveals that the couple – who married earlier this year – expect their baby-on-the-way in December.
While Brady said he would happily attend Lamaze classes with Bündchen, he will do so with at least one caveat: "I told her no Sundays," he joked. "It couldn't be harder than training camp, so I'll be prepared."
Noting that "the women are the ones who have to do the work," he adds, "We just have to be there to support them and so it'll be nice to do that."
Their child will be the first for Bündchen and the second for Brady, who is already dad to 2-year-old John Edward Thomas with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan

Two LAPD officers have been placed on paid administrative leave in the ongoing police investigation into who leaked Rihanna's injury photo.
Officer Rebecca Reyes, a nine-year employee of the department, is under investigation for both criminal and administrative issues, her lawyer Ira Salzman confirms to Didntinviteme.
Salzman adds that search warrants were executed on Reyes's home in late June, and her computer and cell phone records have been seized. "But my client did not sell any photos for profit," Salzman says. "She did not commit any criminal act."
A second officer, Blanca Lopez, a rookie employee who is a former housemate of Reyes's, is also on paid administrative leave in connection with the investigation.
"My client is flabbergasted, having been dragged into the investigation," says her attorney Robert Rico. "She never saw the photograph of Rihanna until it came out on TV."
Both attorneys say their clients are officers of good standing with the department.
A shocking photo of a bruised and battered Rihanna was posted on TMZ two weeks after Chris Brown was arrested for battering her. He has since pleaded guilty to felony assault, and was sentenced to six months community labor and five years' probation.
In a newly enacted California law, it is a misdemeanor for police officers or law enforcement employees to leak confidential reports or images in exchange for money.
"This is a pending investigation, so we're not commenting on it," said LAPD spokeswoman Rosario Herrera.
Rihanna's attorney Donald Etra praised the efforts of the investigation, telling Didntinviteme, "No victim should have to worry about crime scene photos being leaked."

As Kelly Rowland continues to work hard away at her 3rd solo LP, we can exclusively reveal that hitmaker Jermaine Dupri can be added to list of producers working on the as-yet-untitled project. Dupri joins Jim Jonsin ('Sweet Dreams'), Adonis ('My Boo', 'I Stay In Love', 'Too Grown For That'), David Guetta, Brian Kennedy ('Disturbia') and The Stereotypes ('Damaged') as a fellow contributor on the record. Late 2009, early 2010 is the reported release window for the album. You know where to get your Kelly fix!
Kelly really is spreading her wings and I'm loving it! JD is quite versatile as a producer, so I'm eager to see what he serves up for Kelly. With her desire for this record to be a Dance-meets-R&B uptempo affair, I'm hoping we get something in the vein of Janet's 'So Excited' or more plausibly 'Rock With U' from the pair's creative union. Exciting stuff.

Confirmed: Christina Milian & The Dream Are Married & Expecting 1st Child
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 11:42 AM![]()
Christina Milian is pregnant with her first child, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.
The singer, 27, wed music producer The-Dream, 27, on Sept. 4 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Us first reported their engagement two months ago.
The pregnancy was a surprise, but they were getting married regardless," a source tells Us.
Milian has already been talking about children.
"Of course, I would love to have kids," she told Us earlier this summer at the premiere of Bring It On: Fight to the Finish in NYC. "I think that's some of the reasons why I do movies like this."
Even The-Dream (real name: Terius Hagert Youngdell Nash) -- who proposed to Milian with a six-carat sparkler from Ivanka Trump's jewelry line -- has been talking about a family.
"I love kids, and [Christina] loves kids probably more than I do," he told Us in July. "She'll make that time [to have a baby]. In the next couple of years, there'll be something around."

Thursday night’s episode showcased each Atlanta Housewife pursuing her own business venture — with varying degrees of success. Kim commissioned a cross-dressing, apparently great-smelling weave stylist named Derek J to help launch her line of “volumptuous [sic] porno” wigs. “Derek J is not transsexual or trans-gender; He’s just trans-fantastic!” she explained of the man whose flair for hair would keep her 7-year-old daughter Arianna outfitted in Dior without the benefit of Big Papa’s credit line.
“I’m going to die in Juicy Couture; I don’t want to look like I came from the 1990s,” declared Kim’s daughter, while racking up a $3,075.06 shopping bill.
Nene’s maternal instincts were also on display, as she enlisted Dwight to groom her lay-about son Bryson. But the Leakes family feud was nothing compared to the brewing storm between Lisa and Sheree. Their beef was more vicious, in its way, than even Sheree and Kim’s street brawl — because it was combat conducted with smiles.
In the grand tradition of Atlanta’s catfight, let’s relive the best and boldest moments:
1. “I find it very odd that Lisa’s starting a fashion line because — wait — how do I say it? I mean, because Lisa doesn’t have any taste.” –Kim, calling the kettle black?
2. “It’s taken Sheree two years to get it together. I did it in less than a month and half. If I had two years, do you know what mine would look like?” –Lisa, comparing her expediently launched Closet Freak collection with the disastrously delayed She by Sheree
3. “I didn’t see [Lisa's fashion show]. But when I got there, I did see the piece that Lisa had on. And if it was any indication of what her show was like, I didn’t miss a thing.” –Sheree, expertly hitting Lisa where it hurts
4. “Kim is not business. She is not a woman that you could see holding down a board meeting. Are you serious? She’s faking it. But I’m going.” –Nene, unsupportive, dismissive and dubious, but unable to stay away from Kim’s wig party
5. “It was interesting.” –Dwight, critiquing Lisa’s less than polished fashion show — to her face
Tell us: Whose line is likely to be more successful: Kim’s wig collection, Lisa’s Closet Freak clothing or She by Sheree? Would you buy what these ladies are selling?

Say It Cover It: Ashlee Simpson Doesn't Envy Sister Jessica's Single-Girl Freedom
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 3:43 PM
Ashlee Simpson may only be 24, but she's got one thing older sis Jess wants: a baby.
"She's always saying, 'Oh, I want a baby!' " Simpson tells October's Redbook, on sale Sept. 22. "Being a mom's so empowering and incredible. I'm one of those people who believes that life brings things to you at a certain time for a certain reason, and if you just go with it, that's where the best moments come from."
Having her son, Bronx, not only calmed down the once wild singer-turned-actress, it also helped her mature as a person, she says.
"I've grown up so much," she says. "Your body is changing, and it's such an amazing time to feel that connection ... Being pregnant was the healthiest I've ever been in my life. Except for the cupcakes."
When asked about whether she envies sister Jessica, 29, for her freedom as a single gal, Ashlee responds: "I really don't."

The resident lothario of HBO's True Blood, Jason Stackhouse, isn't what you'd call a deep thinker, but the actor who plays him, Australian Ryan Kwanten, says assuming the role of such a glorious dimwit calls for some interesting acting techniques.
"I pride myself on my half-sentences, that's how I get by," he told PEOPLE with a laugh at Tuesday's grand opening of the Katsuya L.A. Live Restaurant at the Nokia Theater Complex, to benefit After-School All-Stars. "It's always, dot-dot-dot after everything that I say, it just makes things easier. I've always loved the notion that stupidity won't kill you, it will just make you sweat. So, I think that Jason lives in this perpetual state of sweating."
But Kwanten, 32, stays mum on rumors that his take on Jason Stackhouse is based on our former president.
"There are a few models for Jason, and I like to keep them to myself," he said. "I think everyone that watches the show knows someone that is a facet of Jason's personality. If people want to read George Bush into him, I think that's fine."
Sweating, of course, is something vampires don't do, and Kwanten said he doesn't expect his character to join the ranks of the undead, like costar Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton.
"I'd rather him not ever be a vampire. I think he's loving life far to much at the moment for that," he said. "I don't think life, for him, could be much better.
Kwanten, who has three films coming out, added that he's getting four hours of sleep a night, leaving him little time for a personal life. "Work is my priority at this point, and I'm fortunate enough to have a stable of friends that put up with my ridiculous schedule, and still love me, so that's what they're there for," he said.

Cole, who was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in April 2008 and treated the liver disease with chemotherapy, also battled kidney problems later that year.
"You know, things don't always go the way we want it to," she said at Wednesday's concert, where she sang 17 songs – including fan favorites "This Will Be," "Our Love," and "Unforgettable" – and even danced along to a few tunes. "Things happen unexpectedly. You got to take the good with the bad."
Looking back at the past few months, which she described as "a real tough journey," and seeing how much she's recovered, Cole says her next goal is to bring awareness to the health problems she's overcome.
"One in eight people has kidney failure," she said. "That's a lot of people and I never thought it would happen to me, but here we are."

Ellen DeGeneres was wooed to fill the permanent spot on American Idol’s judges’ panel, according to Randy Jackson.
“I think we reached out a little bit,” Jackson told PEOPLE Thursday at the star-studded kick-off of two major community service initiatives — the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s iParticipate and Cities of Service, a volunteerism campaign launched by a coalition of the country’s mayors — in Times Square.
“We’re all friends with Ellen, and Ryan [Seacrest] and I are pretty close with her. She’s just mad cool,” Jackson said of the talk show host who is filling the seat on the judges panel left open by Paula Abdul.
According to Jackson, DeGeneres will bring something new to the show. “There’s so much music industry insider talk with me and Simon [Cowell] and Kara [DioGuardi] that I didn’t think we needed any more of that,” he explained. “Ellen hit it right on the head — I think she could be the voice of the people. It’s like somebody in the home audience watching and going, ‘What would
I say [about this contestant]?’ Ellen’s going to be saying it for [them].”
As excited as he was to welcome someone new, Jackson expressed his regret over Abdul’s sudden departure.
“She’s our dear friend,” Jackson told reporters at Thursday’s event, where with emcees N.Y.C. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Ashton Kutcher and Tyler Perry and more than two dozen stars and mayors from across the country, he pledged his commitment to service as a representative for FOX, which will join ABC, CBS, and NBC Oct. 19 to Oct. 25 for a weeklong block of scripted programming highlighting volunteerism.
“Paula started this whole battle with us many seasons ago, before we all knew the show could be hot, and we love her and miss her,” Jackson continued. “We were doing the auditions and I was looking across the table and it was like, ‘Where’s Paula? What’s going on?’ But you know, things happen, life is full of change sometimes. You know, I’m still sad about that.

Jay-Z isn’t the only one who’s not a fan of Auto-Tune. Actress Kate Beckinsale joked about the vocal-enhancing technique during her appearance on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” on Tuesday.
“I can’t understand why all the music sounds like someone’s singing into a saucepan all the time,” she told O’Brien. “T-Pain is singing into a saucepan and Kanye West is always in a pan.”
Beckinsale said Auto-Tune gives anyone the ability to sing. “If you don’t sing, you can sound like Nixon. A pan works for everything.”
