Superwoman Alicia Keys can heal everything but her broken heart in the Syndrome-directed video for “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart,” the second single from her fourth album The Element of Freedom.

Jennifer Lopez’s new album is not due until next year, but the first single is set to kick off next weekend. The A-lister spoke with DJ Skee about her return to music.


J.Lo will debut her fashionable single “Louboutins” on the 2009 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22. “You’re gonna see me premiere and perform it for the first time,” she told the KIIS FM DJ during his “New Music Show” on Sunday (Nov. 15).

The Tricky Stewart and Dream-helmed song is the lead single from her sixth studio album love?, scheduled for early 2010. She explained the concept. “It’s basically about when you get to that point in a bad relationship and you’re like, ‘Damn, I really have to leave. It’s just not good for me,’” she said. “This song is actually about when you’ve made the decision—I’m out. It’s not the girl who’s like, ‘I’m gonna take my stuff, and I’m gonna put on my sweatpants, and I’m gonna cry, and my girlfriends are gonna pick me up and we’re gonna go eat ice cream.’ It’s not that girl. This girl is like putting on her hottest dress and her sexiest Louboutin shoes, and leaving your ass.”

The mother of two can relate. “I’ve had to do it. Sometimes you just gotta do it! You gotta put on your Louboutins and be like, ‘This is what you’re missing. Bye bye,’” she laughed.

Chris Brown kicked off his ‘Fan Appreciation Tour’ in a sold-out venue at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas on Saturday. Included in the set list was the very first live performance of the 2nd single from his upcoming album, ‘Graffiti’. The song, entitled ‘Crawl’, has already managed to debut at #99 on the Hip-Hop R&B charts after only 3 days of official release.

Rihanna earns her R rating in the deadly video for “Russian Roulette.” The bloodthirsty clip for the first single off her fourth album has the makings of a movie, complete with drama, suspense, and murder. Actor Jesse Williams (“Grey’s Anatomy”) plays the pop star’s love interest. Rihanna deploys her lethal weapon, director Anthony Mandler, once more.

It may come down to a tale of the videotape.

A publicist for Mike Tyson says the former boxing champ was merely defending his wife and 10-month-old child after an altercation with an overaggressive photographer at LAX on Wednesday.

"Mike acted in self-defense as a father protecting his child," said Tyson's spokeswoman Tammy Brook.

However, photographer Tony Echevarria, 50, said in video interview posted on TMZ.com that he "wasn't aggressive, I was shooting from a distance, and I was respectful." He indicated that his videotape should back up his story.

LAX police Sgt. Jim Holcomb says Tyson allegedly hit the photographer once in the face with one hand, causing a laceration on the forehead.

Echevarria says he received five stitches and that Tyson, 43, hit him at least four times. "When you're getting hit by Mike Tyson, it's the worst thing in the world you can imagine," he said.

Both men made citizen's arrests on each other, were booked on misdemeanor battery, and were released without bail.

Tyson is currently serving a three-probation term from a drug arrest in Arizona, but it remains to be seen if the airport incident would be considered a violation of those terms.

Chris Brown debuted the Joseph Kahn-directed video for his second single “Crawl” co-starring Cassie on “The Wendy Williams Show” on Friday (Nov. 13). He was also interviewed and offered another apology.

In the latest skirmish in his war with TLC, Jon Gosselin has filed a $5 million claim against the network, saying its representatives damaged his reputation and career by preventing him from working with other media outlets.

In the suit, the reality star dad claims that the network contacted various media outlets he'd been in touch with to persuade them to stop dealing with him.

"Their behavior has caused Jon great anguish and it has caused him financial losses," says his attorney, Mark Heller, who maintains Gosselin did not have an attorney or a manager present when he signed the contract for Jon and Kate Plus Eight with TLC last year.

"They had a cadre of lawyers so they had a one-sided agreement," adds Heller.

Gosselin's lawsuit – a counterclaim against a lawsuit that TLC has filed against him – also claims the network breached its own contract with Gosselin and owes him $175,000 for shows that already aired. The Gosselins' contract, dated April 28, 2008, says he gets $22,500 for each half-hour episode and $45,000 for each one-hour episode, according to the lawsuit.

The counterclaim was filed in District Court in Rockville, Md., where TLC's parent company, Discovery Communications, is based. Earlier, the cable network had filed a lawsuit against Gosselin, claiming he is in violation of his contract with them for making paid and unpaid TV appearances without the network's permission.

The well documented love-hate relationship of The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak is in a state of bliss — for now. But don’t expect it to last.

“We’re trying to be peaceful with each other,” Leakes told DIDNTINVITEME Thursday at Tao Las Vegas. “Kim and I have an up-and-down relationship. Don’t be surprised if we have a falling out again. That’s just how we are.”
Having just finished the second season of their show, the stars have fought over an alleged choking incident, singing on Kim’s song and her engagement to Big Papa.

For now the two remain civil — they even had dinner in Los Angeles recently — though Leakes stopped short of complimenting Kim’s performance of “Tardy For The Party” at the show’s reunion.
“She was alright,” Leakes said.

Despite their history of having fun together over a glass (or two) of wine, Leakes says being civil is about as much as anyone can expect. “We’re not friends and we will probably never be friends,” Leakes said, “but we’re just trying to be respectful.

Vogue’s December issue is getting bewitched– literally– by fierce style star Lady Gaga. Starring in a Hansel and Gretel-inspired spread, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, Lady Gaga channels her naughtier side to play a witch, dressed by her pal Marc Jacobs. The pop sensation tells the magazine, “I’ve always been an outspoken and extreme dresser.” And while her ruffled bloomer shorts and insanely high heels for the Vogue spread were nothing out of the ordinary for Gaga, Vogue staffers were intrigued by what the star wore to visit their office before the shoot! Lady Gaga reportedly showed up to 4 Times Square first wearing a trailing white chiffon Galliano goddess gown with a Philip Treacy headdress that spelled VOGUE in clipped white feathers, only to turn up the next day in a little black dress and flaming-red wig. And if that wasn’t outrageous enough, the singer arrived for the actual shoot “stark naked except for her white rubber raincoat and some very, very high heels!” recounts Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington. So where does she get her crazy fashion from? Whoa, baby!

Joey Lawrence and his wife Chandi Yawn-Nelson are expecting their second child, the actor tells DIDNTINVITEME exclusively.

Due April 3, the baby will be another girl, joining "very excited" big sister Charleston, 3 ½.

"I am Estrogen Man," laughs Lawrence. "I'm from a family of all boys, and when I told my best friend Dave that my wife and I were having a second girl, he said, 'Look at you, my best buddy Estrogen Man!'"

The latest addition to the Lawrence family will be named Liberty Grace, the actor shares. The first name "is something I've always loved," Lawrence, 33, explains, while Grace is in honor of his grandmother, who passed away earlier this year.

Usher is rushing his new album into stores just in time for the holidays.


The R&B crooner’s sixth studio album Raymond vs. Raymond is set for release on Monday, December 21, his label LaFace/Jive Records confirms. The revised date is due to the success of his single “Papers,” which has rocketed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in just six weeks.

Rico Love recently spoke to Rap-Up.com about his involvement with the project. “I can say firsthand that the album is amazing,” said the songwriter, who penned six records with him. “It’s going to be one of those classic Usher albums.”

Mariah Carey may have reached stadium status long ago, but her video for “I Want to Know What Love Is” barely gets to first base. The long-delayed clip for the cover of Foreigner’s hit is a black eye on the career of Hype Williams, who’s directed classics such as Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’” and TLC’s “No Scrubs.”

DecemBURR is about to get even colder for Gucci Mane. The Southern rapper was arrested and sentenced to one year behind bars on Thursday (Nov. 12) for a probation violation.


The “Wasted” MC was handcuffed and immediately taken into custody, reports MTV News. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, according to a label rep, and could be released in as soon as six months.

This is not Gucci’s first time in jail. He was released from prison in March of this year after serving six months for failing to complete 600 hours of community service.

The arrest comes at the height of his career. His first major album The State vs. Radric Davis is currently scheduled for a December 8 release, while his Usher-assisted single “Spotlight” is climbing the charts.

Chris Brown got a tongue lashing from an unruly bystander during his appearance at Footaction in New York last night. The woman hurled insults such as, “I hope someone f**king beats the crap out of you!” and called him a “f**king beater.”

He acknowledged the situation on Twitter, saying, “omg.. some drunk woman just totally cursed me out and the other 2 thousand poeple took pics wit me.. god bless…”

Former Chicago Cub slugger Sammy Sosa last night batted down rumors that he's lightening his skin to look more white -- blaming his pasty new look on wrinkle-fighting, European skin cream.

"It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed. . . . I use [it] to soften [my skin], but [it] has bleached me some," the ex-baseball star told the TV network Univision.

"I'm not a racist.I live my life happily . . . I don't think I look like Michael Jackson."

Sosa's lighter face first made headlines last week after he was photographed at the Latin Grammy Awards. He also blamed the bright TV lights for making him look lighter than he is.

Sosa made his remarks on the Univision Spanish network. He declined to identify the cream.
Sosa, who turns 41 on Thursday, hit 609 homers over 18 seasons in the majors with the Cubs, White Sox, Rangers and Orioles. He hasn't appeared in a big league game since 2007.

Janet Jackson opens up in her first televised interview since the death of her brother Michael. She speaks to ABC News’ Robin Roberts for a one-hour special taped at her Malibu home. “In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts” airs Wednesday, November 18, at 10 p.m. on ABC, the day after her greatest hits album Number Ones goes on sale.

Janet recently shot a video for her new single “Make Me” with director Robert Hales (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears). The Jackson family joined her on set. “Some of my family stopped by to see some of the dancing. It felt good to have them there,” she tweeted.

Rihanna was on late-night German talk show “TV Total” on Wednesday (Nov. 11) where she previewed a clip of her video for “Russian Roulette.” The first single from Rated R jumps from 75-9 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the full video premieres Friday on “20/20.”

Just when you thought the star power at the 2009 American Music Awards couldn’t get any brighter, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston have been announced as performers.


Jackson, who releases her greatest hits album Number Ones on November 17, will open the 37th annual show by performing a medley of hits spanning her illustrious career.

“We’re thrilled about having Janet Jackson open this year’s show,” stated American Music Awards producer Larry Klein. “She is an incredibly dynamic performer, and I think the audience will be excited to see what she has in store.”

Whitney Houston is also set to return to the AMA stage for her first primetime U.S. network performance in five years. She will sing her powerhouse ballad “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and receive the International Artist Award.

“We’re honored to have Whitney Houston back on the AMA stage after ten years,” said Klein. “She has won the most AMAs of any female artist in history and is without a doubt an international superstar, so it’s only fitting we honor her with the International Artist Award this year at such an important time in her career.”

Other previously announced performers include Shakira with Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Eminem, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Keith Urban, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Green Day, Daughtry, and Adam Lambert.

The 2009 American Music Awards will air live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 22, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Omarion has stuck by Chris Brown through the ups and downs, and now the “Crawl” singer is paying back his friend by helping to write a song for his album.


The B2K alum, who turns 25 today, revealed to DIDNTINVITEME.com that he penned a record with Brown for his new album Ollusion (Jan. 12). “Chris and I wrote the song ‘What Do You Say?’,” he said of the Battle Royal production.

O also disclosed that the 253-produced “Speed” will be the follow-up single to “I Get It In.” “The concept of the song is that I’m racing to get to my girl because I love her and I care about her. It has so many meanings too, not just racing time. We’re racing like whether or not we’re gonna be together. We could be on a collision course and we could crash,” he explained. “With ‘Speed,’ we’re trying to get to that focal point, that point where we could just both look at each other and know what it is, and be like, ‘I love you.’”

Akon affiliate Detail produced two records for the R&B crooner’s third solo album along with Tank, who helmed the lead single featuring Gucci Mane.

Forget that the recent wedding reception of Tampa, Fla., couple Tasha Johnson and Markeith Brown was held at a restaurant called the Rusty Pelican -- it was apparently a classy, fairy tale-themed event, complete with a horse and carriage, romantic vows exchanged at an oceanside gazebo and a ballroom reception.

The affair remained classy until around 9 p.m., when Tampa police say Brown began throwing money on the dance floor for children to pick up, which angered one of his guests. When the groom and his brother asked the guest to leave, a fight broke out that escalated and spilled into the parking lot. Cops came -- but it doesn't end there. After guests left, the fight started up again in a hotel parking lot, where the groom's 74-year-old grandmother was put in a choke hold after trying to break up the brawl.

At least one person has been arrested and one was treated in the emergency room as a result of this wedding brawl, but you might be happy to learn that Tasha and Markeith, "the money thrower," are enjoying their honeymoon in the Bahamas right now. They might not be any worse for the wear after their wedding gone wrong, but if you want to avoid making some major mistakes -- as either a bride, a groom or a wedding guest -- pay attention to the following five things you should never do at a wedding.



1) THROWING MONEY AT YOUR GUESTS: It can be a cultural tradition for the bride and groom to do a "money" or "dollar" dance at a wedding, but sprinkling dollar bills on a crowd of people, aka "making it rain," is a totally different story and is never a good idea (see: Jones, Pacman). Also, as generous as it might be, it's pretty gross to give money to your guests in the same manner that you gave out money to the dancers at your bachelor party.

2) GET BOOZY & BELLIGERENT: If treated responsibly, open bars are nice accents to a fun wedding. If treated irresponsibly, well, see above. There's really no better way to ruin what is supposed to be the best day of two peoples' lives than to get drunk and start throwing blows. On days like these, family ties come undone. The bride will call the police on you.

3) SCREW UP THE TOAST: Write notes. Don't have too many drinks beforehand. Remove all thoughts of his or her exes from your mind. Be discreet. Because if you call the bride by the groom's ex-girlfriend's name or let it slip that she's in her first trimester, she'll never let you come to the house again. Ever.

4) HIT ON SOMEONE INAPPROPRIATE: It should go without saying that the groom's grandmother is off limits, right? It's hard to be single at a wedding, but there's no rule that says you have to find someone to hook up with at every wedding celebration you attend. Relax.

5) BE TACKY: Of course, tacky people don't necessarily know they're tacky. But if you don't do any of the things that this family in the UK did for their 16-year-old daughter's wedding last year, then you at least know you won't have the tackiest wedding the world has ever seen.
