The sexy socialite has been single since splitting from Dallas Cowboys football player Miles Austin in September and explained she has no plans to start a new relationship until she finds the right guy.
She told People: "Is it weird that I'm now the single one? It's definitely a change for me. I have always been the one in a relationship. I like that role, I want that best friend partnership."
However, the 30-year-old star hasn’t always been so choosy and said she has been guilty in the past of jumping into relationships simply so she wouldn’t be single.
She said: "There was at time in my life where all I wanted was a relationship and I thought that was the most important thing."
Although she is looking for a guy who can be her lover and her friend, Kim recently explained she is worried about exposing a new man to the pressures of her celebrity lifestyle.
The 30-year-old beauty, who is currently working on her new reality show Kim and Kourtney Take New York, said: "I've realized it's really hard to date when you live your life on a reality show. So I think this time around I'm just taking everything extremely slow. I'm trying to not really dive into anything because I just don't have the time.”
