Mary J. Blige stepped on stage in a form-fitting shiny bodysuit and boots on the first date of her “Music Saved My Life” tour at Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta on Saturday night (Oct. 2). Before taking the stage with hits like “No Drama” and “I’m Goin’ Down,” Miguel and Jazmine Sullivan warmed up the crowd with their soulful music. MJB and Jazmine recently teamed up for the Swizz Beatz-produced remix of “Holding You Down (Goin’ in Circles)” from Jazmine’s sophomore album Love Me Back, now due November 30.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been in and out of the lab cooking up her 10th studio album. “Yes, we’re working on one,” she tells the New York Daily News, revealing that some of the guests may include Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, Johnta Austin, and Ryan Leslie. “I don’t know what we’re calling it. I’m not rushing to come out with it. When it is done, it is done.”

Kelly Rowland took centre-stage at the NFL’s hotly anticipated (and widely watched) Giants vs Bears game a few moments ago to perform The Star Spangled Banner.
The Destiny’s Child star was suffering from a cold, prior to the performance, almost pulling out (with another Universal Motown act reportedly being on standby). She still soldiered on, however.

After his stinging remarks (“F**k ‘SNL’ and the whole cast”), Kanye Westtriumphantly returned to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend to make amends. Mr. West, clad head-to-toe in red with gold chains, ruled the white stage with his controversy starter “POWER,” omitting the diss, and “Runaway” with Pusha T and an assortment of ballerinas. All hail King Yeezy.

Ellen DeGeneres 'Devastated' over Rutgers Student Suicide

The talk show host says the time for talk is over.
Ellen DeGeneres reacted strongly Thursday to the news of the Rutgers University student who committed suicide after a roommate allegedly videotaped him having sex with another male.
"I am devastated over the death of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi," the openly gay talk show host says. "He was outed as being gay on the Internet and he killed himself. ... One life lost in this senseless way is tragic."
Noting the three other deaths that have been reported with gay teens this month, DeGeneres says, "Something must be done."
"This needs to be a wake up call to everyone that teenage bullying and teasing is an epidemic in this country, and the death rate is climbing," she adds. "We have an obligation to change this."
Prosecutors have not yet determined if, in fact, this case is being considered a hate crime. Two other teens have been arrested for investigation of invasion of privacy. The tape was allegedly intended to be streamed on the Internet.
"The on-going investigation is considering the motives leading to the illegal Internet transmission of a personal encounter involving the victim," the Middlesex County, N.J., Prosecutor's Office says in a statement. "We will be making every effort to assess whether bias played a role in the incident, and, if so, we will bring appropriate charges."

Alicia Keys' 7th Annual "Keep A Child Alive" Black Ball NYC 2010
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 10:44 AMEven the heavy New York City winds couldn’t dim the star power at Keep a Child Alive’s 7th Annual Black Ball at Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday night (Sept. 30). The star-studded charity gala, which raised money for HIV/AIDS treatment, featured appearances and performances by Sade, Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Usher, Swizz Beatz, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monáe, and more.
The belle of the ball, host Alicia Keys, lived out her dream by singing with Sade. “It was the most difficult thing I ever had to do in my life, to try to pick one song,” revealed the pregnant songstress, who finally decided upon “Love Is Stronger Than Pride.” “I lost sleep over it actually.”
Janelle Monáe gained new fans with her “Tightrope” walking and Swizz Beatz joined Jay-Z for “On to the Next One,” as his pretty in pink wife looked on. Alicia helped Jay cap the evening in their hometown by channeling Frank Sinatra with an impromptu performance of “New York, New York,” before closing with “Empire State of Mind.”

Mario made headlines this morning for his out-of-character behavior. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old R&B singer was arrested and released on $50,000 bond for 2nd degree assault following an altercation with his mother earlier this week at their shared apartment in Baltimore, Md.
Mario’s mother Shawntia Hardaway told police that her son had gone on a rampage, breaking a mirror, shattering a china cabinet, and putting a hole in the closet door. Following his outburst, Mario then pushed his mother “eight feet into a living room wall, where [she] hit her head on the wall.”
Their mother-son relationship has a history of trouble. The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant confronted his mother’s heroin addiction by staging an intervention in 2007 on MTV’s documentary “I Won’t Love You to Death,” where he allowed cameras to film him trying to get her clean. “I want to give you the gift of life, like you gave me,” he told her.
*P.S* Some of you may remember the MTV documentary that Mario filmed about 3 years ago depicting the struggle he has had with his mother and her constant drug use. Could this be a factor of this alleged incident?
