Christina Aguilera Earns Three Times as Much as Her Co-Stars on 'The Voice'
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 11:45 PM
Christina Aguilera (PCN)It came as something of a surprise when singer Christina Aguilera was confirmed to star on NBC's new reality competition The Voice. Aguilera had managed to steer clear of reality television for the entirety of her career, and she appeared to be suffering some personal problems in the wake of her divorce. But now it's clear that The Voice presented a financial opportunity that would have been nearly impossible to pass up: $225,000 an episode.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Aguilera earns three times as much as castmates Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo Green on the NBC show. This could help to explain some of the tension that makes the show so watchable: Aguilera is definitely getting the star treatment. It also explains why she gets so much screen time—NBC probably wants to get its money's worth.

0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 4:49 AMChristina Aguilera already piqued our interest in her Bionic follow-up while dishing with Jimmy Kimmel, and yesterday The Voice coach stopped by Live! With Regis & Kelly for more talk of her new album. “I’m diving in right now as I’m shooting the show,” she told the two talk show hosts. Jump below to see her whole interview, and discover how jealous Regis is of Xtina’s star on the Gay Walk Of Fame. (That would be: very.)
“I have so much great material this time around, coming from the crazy year I’ve had, and experiencing the movie [Burlesque] and experiencing so much on different levels,” Aguilera says of her forthcoming album. Considering the past year the singer has had, we’re expecting a pretty dramatic set of new tunes.

One high point, besides her new gig as a mentor to young singers on NBC's The Voice, involves her love life.
"You have a new boyfriend," Ellen DeGeneres asked Aguilera, for an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday.
"There is someone very lovely in my life. Yes," answered Aguilera, referring to her boyfriend, film assistant Matt Rutler.
"That's all that matter's is that you're happy," said the host. "It's hard. Divorce is hard."
Aguilera, mother to 5-year-old son Max, whose dad is her ex-husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, acknowledged, "It definitely is hard."
"You deserve to have fun and date and stuff," said DeGeneres.
"Absolutely," Aguilera concurred.
Asked about the Super Bowl incident, Aguilera said, "That night I knew, I just made myself a Trivial Pursuit question ... 'In 2011, what female singer, ya know, flubbed the lyrics.' "

Such good memories being on the Circus tour,” Sparks wrote. She then tweeted at songwriter Claude Kelly, “You KILLED it with this Gasoline record!!! :)”
At any rate, Xtina shouldn’t have too much longer to wait to see what Brit brings in the “Till The World Ends” video. The singer, whose Good Morning America performance aired this morning, shot the video earlier this month.

Christina Aguilera accidentally sang "at the Twilight's last reaming" during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. (Getty Images)Christina Aguilera had many detractors after she flubbed a line in the National Anthem at the Super Bowl yesterday, but Fergie was not among them. The Black Eyed Peas singer explained to syndicated radio host Dan Patrick that the extraordinary pressures presented by the event likely took a toll on Aguilera's nerves."It's such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you," Fergie said. "I completely understand. She's one of the best singers of our time. Nobody can take that away from you. ... But you get nervous at these things. We're human."
Fergie also admitted that her own performance, which suffered some technical difficulties, was not perfect.
"Some of my notes were pitchy to me," she said. But Fergie was also enjoying the moment. "It was so exhiliarating. The whole thing. It was so big. That's a once-in-a-lifetime thing."

Christina Aguilera's new boyfriend put a ring on it, but don't get the wrong idea.
Matt Rutler "gave [a ring] to her for her birthday," a source tells our friends over @PEOPLE. "It's not an engagement ring and they're not engaged. It was a surprise gift from him."
Although the lovebirds aren't necessarily saying "I do" anytime soon, they are getting more serious. Rutler's mom has had the honor of meeting Aguilera. And Rutler was by Aguilera's side at her New Year's Eve bash, which was attended by her own mother, brother and sister.
Aguilera recently introduced Rutler to her son Max when she brought him to the Peterson Automotive Museum in L.A.
"Christina took Max on the fun outing so he could bond with Matt," a source says. "Max was initially a bit shy, but later warmed up to Matt. It seems very important to Christina that Max got along with Matt."
The source also says Rutler has been spending the majority of his time staying at Aguilera's Beverly Hills home, while the singer's ex, Jordan Bratman, is now living in a rental home nearb

In the German city, with the premiere of her movie Burlesque about to take place with 1,000 fans already gathered outside the cinema, the couple meandered through the market stands and booths, even stopping to purchase some sugared almonds. Staving off the subfreezing cold, they also shared some hot mulled wine.
Decked out in miniskirt and black-and-white checkered lumberjack shirt under a large down parka, Aguilera went largely unrecognized during the hour's visit.
Then came show time, and the couple quickly returned to their hotel to change for the red carpet.
In a low-cut, hot pink halter-top dress, Aguilera again braved the cold – this time alongside her screen costar Cher.

0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 10:52 AMChristina Aguilera’s Burlesque ballad “Bound To You”—co-written by Aussie singer Sia Furler and Samuel Dixon—is a stunner, and last night she gave a moving performance of the tune on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Ahead of that she sat down with Jay and talked about her music, her son Max and the trials of growing up as a young singing prodigy around Pittsburgh.
Aguilera tells Leno the story of an older man who unplugged her mic while she was singing as a tyke at a party. “As a young kid, that’s pretty traumatizing, for someone to pull the plug on you,” she says. “But look where he is and look where I am now.”

Christina Aguilera with estranged husband Jordan Bratman. (Getty Images)Christina Aguilera filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman last month, and in a new interview she hints that she was looking for a change in her life before the split."My life is cyclical," she told Redbook. "I'm not a nine-to-five woman who has the same kind of lifestyle for years on end. I couldn't do it. I need the spontaneity, that thrill of change. That's part of how I get inspired."
The 29-year-old singer – who has a two-year-old son Max with her estranged husband – also revealed she couldn’t wait to get back into the studio to vent her emotions about her recent woes.
She said: “I want to pour my heart out and be able to release anything I'm going through”.
Meanwhile, Christina’s friend Nicole Richie has praised the singer as an “incredible” mother.
Nicole – who has daughter Harlow, two and 11-month-old son Sparrow with her rocker fiance Joel Madden – said she has enormous “respect” for the singer’s parenting skills.
She said: "It's very clear through Christina's music what a strong woman she is...But to watch her as a mother only skyrockets the respect I have for her. She is the woman who's recording until 4 a.m. and up at seven to be with her son. Her dedication to Max is incredible."

Christina Aguilera: Split Has Caused 'Tears and Sadness'
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 3:01 PM"It's not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness. It's impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight," the pop star, 29, tells Redbook in its November issue, on newsstands Nov. 16.
"Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward."
Also, her son Max, who will be 3 in January, remains a source of joy – and someone she can focus on. "Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on a sane path," Aguilera says. "His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe."
Asked about the details of her split, she adds: "Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to make it through each day."
