Taraji P. Henson, Didntinviteme.net Interview If there is just one thing you should know about Taraji P. Henson, it's this: Girl is funny! She may have a handful of BET and NAACP Image Awards plus an Oscar nom under her belt, but the actress has a singular brand of self-deprecating humor—and a penchant to ooh! and aah!—that had us laughing till we cried.

StyleBistro sat down with Taraji to get the scoop on her red carpet dos and don'ts, her ever-changing hairstyles and what she'll be wearing this spring. (Not to mention a particular red carpet disaster!) Look for Taraji on the big screen in Peep World, costarring Rainn Wilson and Michael C. Hall, on March 25.

Thanks, Taraji!

DIM: What's your personal style?
Because I am such a versatile person, it depends on my mood. Today I'm, like, nothing matches. That's how I feel today: ugly out. But I guess when I do put myself together and go out, some days I'm like a rock star; some days I'm chic and sexy; some days it's sweats.
DIM: Where do you like to shop?
One of my favorite stores here in LA is called Bleu—it's right over here on La Brea. Cute little boutique-y store. I bought like four pair of shorts. Also, Maxines in Studio City. And of course Neiman Marcus. They have everything. That's where I get my shoes. I probably do 80-percent of my shopping at Neiman Marcus because it's one-stop shopping. Plus, I earn points. Hey InCircle, I'm in the circle! I love it.
DIM: What's your favorite handbag?
Oh my god, my favorite? I have to pick one? I have one red Valentino. It is gorgeous...the one with the ruffles around the edge. The leather is just soft like butter. And then I have a Versace, their signature bag. That's a forever bag. And I bought a purple Gucci from Rome that I will never, ever get rid of. I'm looking at it now. Ooh, I may have to wear her today. I call my clothes and shoes 'her.' Look at her - ooh! The girls at the stores where I shop think I'm crazy.
What one thing would you change about yourself?
I wish I had a longer neck. I love long hair but, because I have such a small face and my neck is short, it swallows me up...I'd look like Cousin It. I love my haircut, but I like to switch it up. Sometimes I want to have hair that's all the way down to my ass, that's just sometimes how I feel. And with the advancements we've made in weaves, it's possible! But is it the best look for me? No. No, the best look for me is the bob. I had to surrender to that, damn it.
DIM: What was your favorite red carpet outfit ever?
My ultimate favorite, because it comes with such a paramount part of my life and career, would be the Roberto Cavalli gown I wore to the Oscars. It was just one of those that you put it on and it was like 'Yes.' My manager, publicist, everyone was there when I put it on and zipped it up. The whole room gasped and we were like 'That's it.' I will never, ever forget that dress. It was so beautiful, it was almost like a wedding dress. Gorgeous, ooh.
DIM: Tell us about Peep World.
It's very Woody Allen-esque. Rainn Wilson plays my love interest. My character is his backbone, his supporter. He's like the black sheep of the family and they treat him like crap. But he's right there, and she sees his potential and she loveshim [in singsong]! It's a funny movie.

Taraji P. Henson shows no hint of shyness as she strikes a sexy – and totally naked – pose for a new ad campaign.

The actress, 40, shows off a toned physique and a sultry stare for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign.

"I don't think a living being should suffer for the sake of fashion, period," Henson says. "End of story."

Henson's campaign will debut at PETA's New York Fashion Week Bash on Feb. 10, and the ad will also appear on a billboard in L.A.

Didntinviteme has learned that Gladys Knight will join Taraji P. Henson in Tyler Perry's 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself.'

Also added to the film are Brian J. White and Marvin Winans. The film is about an alcoholic jazz singer forced to take care of her deceased sister's three children. Knight will play a church secretary, and White plays Henson's boyfriend. Winans will play a pastor in the film.

Taraji P. Henson, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' is starring in the film, which is based on Perry's play of the same name. Variety states that the project will begin shooting March 16 at Perry's newly opened studio complex in Atlanta.

'Bad,' which features Perry's Madea character, is set for release Sept. 11.

Knight hasn't been seen on the big screen since she had a small role in 'Hollywood Homicide' opposite Harrison Ford back in 2003. She has guest starred on several television series, with roles on 'A Different World' and 'Living Single.'

This is White's second stint in a Tyler Perry film. He had an uncredited role in 'Daddy's Little Girls' back in 2007. He will be seen in two upcoming films: '12 Rounds,' with John Cena, and 'Fighting,' with Terrence Howard.

Winans is a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer who hails from Detroit.

'Why Did I Get Married Too?' a sequel to 2007's 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?' has been set for release on April 2, 2010. The first pic, based on Perry's stage play, grossed $55 million domestically.

Perry's current film, 'Madea Goes to Jail,' landed in second place this past weekend with $8.8 million and has a total gross of $76.2 million.

My favorite Actress Taraji P. Henson got together with some friends at Mastro’s Steakhouse recently to celebrate her Oscar nomination. I'm absolutely routing for her to win this nod. It is well deserved and a good look!!

Oscar nominations were announced this morning, and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' landed the most with 13, including one for best picture and best actor. It will go up against the critics' darling 'Slumdog Millionaire,' which received 10 nominations, the Harvey Milk story 'Milk,' the political film 'Frost/ Nixon,' and the surprise nominee 'The Reader' with Kate Winslet.

Competing in the best supporting actress category will be Taraji P. Henson for 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' and Viola Davis for 'Doubt.' It's the first nomination for both actresses. Speaking on ABC's 'Good Morning America' shortly after the nominations were announced, Davis told Diane Sawyer, "I'm glad Oprah threw me a bone," when she learned Winfrey wanted to play her part but producers chose Henson instead. "I needed this job, Oprah."

Robert Downey, Jr. received a nomination for playing an actor disguised as a black man in the comedy 'Tropic Thunder.'

The most shocking snub for best picture was 'The Dark Knight,' which has already won numerous awards and was heavily favored. When the director, producers, and screenwriters are nominated by the Hollywood trade guilds but get no love from the Academy, where's the justice? As expected, Heath Ledger received a supporting actor nomination for 'The Dark Knight' on the one-year anniversary of his death.

The Academy only recognized three songs this year, two from 'Slumdog Millionaire.' Beyonce failed to grab a nomination for her work in 'Cadillac Records.' The same was true in 2006, when she wasn't nominated for 'Dreamgirls.'

The 81st annual Academy Awards will air on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. EST (5 p.m. PST) and broadcast live on ABC.

With 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' slated for release next month, and having appeared in 'The Family That Preys' along with some episodic work on ABC's 'Eli Stone', Taraji P. Henson has been seen on the big and small screen this year, and now you can seen her in music videos as well.

In her return to the music scene since being featured in Common's Testify video, Henson stars along Oscar winner/ singer Jamie Foxx in his newest video from his latest single, 'Just Like Me', which also features rapper T.I . What's interesting is that the video was shot by filmmaker Bret Ratner (Rour Hour).

The song will be featured on Foxx's third album 'Intuition,' which hits stores on Dec. 16.

Henson is no stranger to the music industry. She did sing the theme song to 'Hustle and Flow' at the 2006 Oscars. I recently spoke to her regarding her appearance in the Foxx video.

Taraji P. Henson: It was so much fun working with Jamie Foxx and Bret Ratner, whom I had never worked with before. I'm looking forward to doing more work with the both of them. It was a chance for those who have seen my work to see me be really silly. I don't think my audience understands that I'm a stronger comedic actress or that I'm a comedic actress. You have seen me in more dramatic films, but in my opinion, comedy is my strongest attribute. It was a chance for me to be as silly as I want to be.

What's the story in the video about?

TPH: The song is called 'Just Like Me' and Jamie and I have been rivals since we were kids. The video opens with us as toddlers having a hot dog eating contest, and we go through these vignettes of competition. Silly competitions like a 'High Five competition' or 'The Stare Down competetion', and it goes through who wins. I win the majority of the time, but since it's his video, he has to win in the end.
