Alexander Skarsgard (Getty Images)Alexander Skarsgard isn't the vain type, and the True Blood star says he'd never turn down a role because it made him look unappealing.

He said: “I'm always looking for something that's real and that's got meat on it. I think it's artistic suicide if you're too vain, or if you're afraid to play ugly. I would never fall for that.”

The actor, who is rumored to be dating actress Kate Bosworth, struggles to understand why he's viewed as a sex symbol.

He added to Telegraph.co.uk: “Do I think I’m beautiful? I see myself as most people see themselves, you have good days and bad days. I don't think I'm better looking now than I did three years ago.”

Alexander, 33, admits he's a thrill seeker, but he has to be careful about who he dates.

He said: “I know I have to be careful because there is something destructive within me, I think, and I can have a tendency to just search for the kicks. I can't really get too close to someone who's too destructive, or too dark, because then I might go down the rabbit hole myself.”

Can you read the minds of the True Blood creators? So far, season 3 has involved an egomaniacal vampire king and V-addicted werewolves — but fans are also following Sookie Stackhouse’s quest for her kidnapped love. Will the lustrous and ever-so-loyal Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) be tempted to betray her vampire lover Bill Compton (real-life fiancé Bill Moyer) for new blood?

Something big is brewing and the couple may find themselves at a crossroads on next week’s episode. “It will shake the very core of their relationship,” executive producer Alan Ball tells TV Guide. “Bill and Sookie’s love for each other is authentic and they want to make it work. But it might get harder and harder.”

Also harder for Stackhouse could be resisting drop-dead gorgeous Eric Northman (Alexander Skaarsgard) and his seduction attempts. She could also fall for her hunky, protective werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello)? “I can’t get into slinging matches about who’s better for Sookie because it’s just ridiculous,” says Moyer. “Bill is for Sookie, the love of her life.”

True playa Snoop Dogg has his sights set on a new target, but he might be facing some killer competition for True Blood's Sookie Stackhouse. In line with his continuing love affair with the hit HBO show, Snoop's new single is called "Oh, Sookie," and it's an extended love letter to the steamy psychic played by Anna Paquin.

The video, which is set in True Blood town Bon Temps, features footage of Anna as Snoop offers to drink gin and juice with her at Merlotte's, the bar where she works on the show. And apparently Snoop isn't afraid of Sookie's vampire boyfriend, Bill, played by real life fiance Stephen Moyer. He has a simple solution for that situation.

Snoop Dogg would roll right up on Merlotte's for Sookie Stackhouse. (From the video for "Oh, Sookie")"We'll do it in the daytime, Bill won't know a thing."

This isn't the first time Snoop has shown love for True Blood, he namechecked the show in his 2009 single "Gangsta Luv," and at one point sounded like he was gunning for a cameo on the show.

“I love that show. I wish I could be on it," he told MTV at the time. "I’d be a hell of a vampire, don’t you think? So what’s happenin’? True Blood, get at me — Snoop Dogg wants to be a vampire."

Maybe with all this lobbying the show's producers will grant his wish? We can only hope.

Stephen Moyer (Getty Images)True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer can get carried away during their sex scenes in the vampire drama.

Stephen, 40, admits his real-life relationship with 27-year-old Anna means there are no boundaries on set.

Speaking about their chemistry on set, he joked: "I think that one great bonus is we don't need a fluffer."

A fluffer is a person who helps male performers maintain their erections in adult movies.

Bisexual Anna also admits she and the rest of the show's cast are comfortable being naked around each other on set. She told Entertainment Weekly: "It doesn't really bother me. I'm really close with all of our cast, and we've all seen each other in various compromising and odd situations."

Anna and Stephen have been together since 2007, and play lovers Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton on the show, which is based on the The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris.

Also joining the popular program is Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide in the new series, and he has wasted no time in getting his clothes off for the role.

He said: "Having been a fan of the show, you know you're going to be naked at some point. I will say that I was welcomed into the brotherhood of the sock. When you're naked on the show, you have to wear a sock, and it's not on your foot."

In the latest in a series of promotional posters for the hit vampire drama True Blood, HBO is hinting at things — namely werewolves — to come.

Joe Manganiello has signed on to play werewolf Alcide Herveaux, a season 3 love interest for Anna Paquin‘s Sookie Stackhouse.

In the books by Charlaine Harris that the show is based on, Alcide helps Sookie search for her beloved vampire beau Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer), who went missing at the end of season 2.

Sookie isn’t the only one getting a love interest. Southland star Kevin Alejandro is joining the cast as well to play Jesus, who will catch the eye of Lafayette, Bon Temps flashy short-order cook. Could he be another wolf in sheep’s clothing?

True Blood‘s third season premieres June 13 on HBO.

With just six weeks to go until the racy vampire drama True Blood returns to airwaves, HBO has released the first official cast photo from season 3, putting the love triangle between Bill (Stephen Moyer), Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) front and center.
But could the shot — which also features Kristin Bauer as Pam, Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette (who’s getting a love interest this season), Ryan Kwanten as Jason and Deborah Ann Wall as new vamp Jessica — foretell romance between former flames Sam (Sam Trammell) and Tara (Rutina Wesley), huddled together in back?
Only time will tell. True Blood‘s third season premieres June 13 on HBO

The True Blood casting news just keeps on coming!

After announcing that producers had found their werewolf Alcide in One Tree Hill’s Joe Manganiello and that Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard will play the mother of Lafayette, played by Nelsan Ellis, in the upcoming third season of HBO’s supernatural hit, Southland star Kevin Alejandro is joining the cast as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Alejandro — who you might also recognize from Ugly Betty or Weeds — will play Jesus, an orderly taking care of Lafayette’s mother Ruby Jean Reynolds, who is in a care facility.
Appearing in almost every episode of the third season, according to the report, Jesus and Lafayette will become romantically involved. Makes you wonder what Jesus’s secret will be — everyone in Bon Temps seems to have one!

There’s a hot new werewolf on the scene!

Taylor Lautner may be PEOPLE’s most wanted star in 2010, but True Blood fans will have something to growl about now that the show has cast Joe Manganiello as Alcide Herveaux, who will appear in season 3 as a love interest for Sookie Stackhouse.

In the books by Charlaine Harris that HBO’s hit is based on, the werewolf Alcide helps Sookie (played by Anna Paquin on the show) search for her missing vampire beau Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer).

According to EW.com, which first reported the casting news, producers were looking for a “good-looking, rough-around-the-edges, articulate, heroic, and decent” man for the role.
They found their guy in Manganiello, who is best known for playing bartender Owen on One Tree Hill and his recurring role as Brad on How I Met Your Mother.
In another bit of casting news, Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard will guest star on True Blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as the mother of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Merlotte’s short-order cook who illegally sold vampire blood.

The onscreen brother is always the last to know.

Speaking at the Entertainment Tonight/PEOPLE Emmy party after Sunday's big event, Ryan Kwanten – the hottie who plays dumb-as-a-rock but well-meaning Bon Temps good ol' boy Jason Stackhouse on HBO's True Blood – said he may have been the only person not to have figured out that his costars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were in a relationship.

"I'm always the last to know. My ear is not very close to the ground," he said. "Stephen actually had to come up to me and tell me. He said, 'Ryan I know you're not really up with the gossip side of things. but before you hear from anyone else, we've been dating for the last 10 months.' "

But Kwanten, 32, said it made perfect sense once he did know.

"They just know who they are," he said. "There are no facades or egos. They are just down-to-earth people."

On the show, Kwanten's character is the brother of Paquin's character, one who often tries (and fails) to act as a caring older brother. Kwanten said feels like a friend more than a brother to Paquin in real life, but that he's confident Moyer will make a fine husband.

"You look out for them and make sure that anyone who is the close circle has their best interest at heart, and Stephen does," he said.

He's even already got the perfect wedding gift picked out.

"I guess [I'd give them] privacy," he said. "I'd just wave my magic wand."

The resident lothario of HBO's True Blood, Jason Stackhouse, isn't what you'd call a deep thinker, but the actor who plays him, Australian Ryan Kwanten, says assuming the role of such a glorious dimwit calls for some interesting acting techniques.

"I pride myself on my half-sentences, that's how I get by," he told PEOPLE with a laugh at Tuesday's grand opening of the Katsuya L.A. Live Restaurant at the Nokia Theater Complex, to benefit After-School All-Stars. "It's always, dot-dot-dot after everything that I say, it just makes things easier. I've always loved the notion that stupidity won't kill you, it will just make you sweat. So, I think that Jason lives in this perpetual state of sweating."

But Kwanten, 32, stays mum on rumors that his take on Jason Stackhouse is based on our former president.

"There are a few models for Jason, and I like to keep them to myself," he said. "I think everyone that watches the show knows someone that is a facet of Jason's personality. If people want to read George Bush into him, I think that's fine."

Sweating, of course, is something vampires don't do, and Kwanten said he doesn't expect his character to join the ranks of the undead, like costar Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton.

"I'd rather him not ever be a vampire. I think he's loving life far to much at the moment for that," he said. "I don't think life, for him, could be much better.

Kwanten, who has three films coming out, added that he's getting four hours of sleep a night, leaving him little time for a personal life. "Work is my priority at this point, and I'm fortunate enough to have a stable of friends that put up with my ridiculous schedule, and still love me, so that's what they're there for," he said.
