Beyoncé - "Schoolin' Life"

J.R. Taylor Choreography

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Rihanna was spotted at Phillippe Chow’s yesterday wearing an Ohne Titel graphic striped cardigan ($445) layered over a navy polka dot blouse and nude colored Prada ankle strap platform pumps. Do you like her look?

Report to the dance floor. Jennifer Lopez keeps the party going with “Hypnotico,” another club banger produced by RedOne (“On the Floor”) and written by Lady Gaga. The synth-heavy record, which will appear on her seventh album LOVE? (May 3), was originally recorded by dancehall artist Tami Chynn.

“They love me for my body/ I’m original sexy,” sings J.Lo over the bombastic bassline before the chanting chorus kicks in: “All the boys are lovin’ when we do our thing/ We just some silly heartbreakers tonight.”

The “Idol” judge recently spoke to Rolling Stone about collaborating with Gaga. “We didn’t work together face to face. RedOne brought her into the process, because they’d worked together a lot—it was kind of cool,” she said. “She’s a great songwriter. I don’t just love her lyrics, but also her melodies.”

Fall under J.Lo’s hypnotizing spell below.

Beyoncé returns to the charts with her first single of 2011. “Run the World (Girls),” the lead offering from the pop powerhouse’s fourth album, lands at No. 33 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

Additionally, the Major Lazer-sampled tune logged 77,000 downloads since arriving in the iTunes store last Thursday, bowing at No. 23 on the Digital Songs chart. On radio, Bey is getting some love, beginning at No. 65 on the Radio Songs chart with a respectable 18 million in audience.

The highly-anticipated video for the Switch-produced female anthem was shot over several days in California with director Francis Lawrence and will debut sometime in May.

Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Lady Gaga’s “Judas” drops two spots after debuting at No. 10 last week, while Katy Perry and Kanye West’s “E.T.” returns to the top for a fourth week.

Tyra BanksFollowing in the footsteps of Top Chef, Tyra Banks has announced she's putting together past America's Next Top Model contestants for an all-star season this fall. The lovely ladies who didn't  make the show's final cut in the past 16 seasons will get another chance to be declared the winner.

We're hoping Tyra will take a page from Top Chef's book and only pick the top contestants from each season—the girls who made it to the top five at the very least. The show is always more intense when the overall quality of talent is raised that dramatically. It should be interesting to see which gals return and who eventually gets crowned queen. Here's hoping our faves who got booted will return for a second chance.

I've always said this but, I want to see all the 1st runner-ups battle it out, or all the winners for the Ultimate Top Model Title!

Who would you want to see make another run for the title?

Usher is known to be a ladies man, but it was Akon who gave his female fans some eye candy, stripping down during his first show on the second leg of Usher’s “OMG Tour” at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida, on Wednesday (April 27). The bold singer removed his clothing, standing onstage in only a pair of white boxer briefs and socks.

The 21-date trek, which also features openers Tinie Tempah and Dev and The Cataracs in select markets, travels to Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago, before wrapping on June 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The “Smack That” hitmaker has set a September 20 date for his oft-delayed album Stadium. His David Guetta-produced record “Angel” can be heard in the new Victoria’s Secret TV commercial and he recently dropped his buzz single “Take It Down Low” featuring Chris Brown.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Parisian vacay seems to be over as the couple was seen leaving their hotel and headed to the airport. Beyonce was seen rocking a Balmain logo scoop neck tank top ($475) and Balmain black check multi-zip military harem pants ($3,595) with a pair of red patent leather peep-toe booties. She also wore a pair of Super Sunglasses and carried her Jimmy Choo Rosalie Elaphe Snakeskin leather bag ($2,895), while Jay-Z rocked his standard all black fit.

Justin Bieber (Getty Images)Looks like Justin Bieber's dream of lighting up the big screen is going to come to fruition: Mark Wahlberg of all people, plans on teaming up with the Canadian super-star to make a film backed by Paramount Pictures.

Details on the project are limited, but New York Magazine's Vulture is reporting that Wahlberg is firmly behind the project. Lately everything Mark Wahlberg touches turns to gold. He produced the Oscar-winning film The Fighter, as well as the multiple-Emmy-winning miniseriesBoardwalk Empire on HBO. So we're confident whatever he and the Bieb do will be beautiful.

While news of this future collaboration came as a surprise, it should be noted that Marky Mark has been a huge fan of Justin's since at least last August. "The world needs Justin Bieber," the actor said at the time. "Justin Bieber is like the white Tupac."

For those who don't remember, Wahlberg started his career in music, rising out of the shadow of his brother Donnie and the New Kids on the Block to become a successful hip-hop singer. So maybe Mark sees a bit of himself in the boy wonder from Canada. Or maybe he just wants an excuse to sing and dance again.

Nicki Minaj packed her bags and headed up north for the final dates on the “I Am Still Music” tour. The rap diva looked mighty serious, dressed down in a black wig, cropped leather jacket, and tight gray pants, as she arrived in Canada with her entourage in tow, pushing carts of Louis Vuitton luggage. Lil Wayne and Nicki’s outing wraps tomorrow at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome before she heads out on the road with Britney Spears in June.

TSA officials got more than a peek at Rihanna as she went through airport security yesterday. The “S&M” singer, appearing in good spirits, was subjected to a full body scan while traveling from LAX to New York, dressed in a gray tank top and beige trousers, with her hair pinned up in a blue bow. RiRi will be honored tonight at the 5th Annual DKMS Gala for her dedicated work in the fight against leukemia.

Lady Gaga introduced the world to “Judas” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” debuting the controversial single for the first time on television. With a slew of backup dancers in tow, the pop provocateur led her crew through a ferociously choreographed routine, showing off her deep blue bodysuit as she sang along to the club-ready tune. Gaga threw some religious imagery into the mix, with angels playing instruments in the background. The video for “Judas” will premiere next week.

Gaga, who has been on a whirlwind tour for the past few years, will finally take a break from touring after 210 “Monster Ball” performances. In anticipation of the release of Born This Way (due May 23), she sat down with the talk show host to discuss her new album and time away from the stage.

“I think what inspired writing Born This Way, my new album, so much was that pop culture is our religion,” she said, “and through self-worship in terms of your identity and through honoring your identity and fighting for who you are every single day of your life down to your core, you can have more faith and more hope in life and in the future.”

While she’s away from her native New York City most of the time, she’s always excited to have friends come crash at her hotel rooms. But the eccentric artist, who sleeps in her stage clothes, says it comes with drawbacks. “They always call me a beauty queen disaster because I wake up and my wig’s falling off my head,” she laughed. “My mole is on the other side of my face—my fake mole, it’s not fake, it’s just surreal.”

Watch Gaga’s performance and interview below.

Lady Gaga Presents - Born This Way Acapella Backstage Monster Ball Tour (HBO)

Say what you want about Gaga, but you can't deny her talent! I love this stripped down raw version of "Born This Way" This is very Madonna a lå "Truth or Dare"

Fergie was spotted out in Beverly Hills carrying a Yves Saint Laurent Roady Hobo Bag ($3,100) and wearing a Balmain Destroyed Safety Pin Shirt ($2,570). This destroyed crewneck shirt is from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection and features a three-quarter length sleeve with an allover silver tone safety pin detailing. Fergie is also wearing her “Bold” slingback platform sandals ($100 seen below in a grey stone colorway) from her own line of footwear. What do you think of her look?

TBS giveth, and they taketh away. I already posted the press release announcing Tyler Perry’s new show For Better or Worse, but the same release also announced the cancellation of House of Payne.

via press release:

TBS Orders Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse Dramedy Based on Perry’s Hit Why Did I Get Married? Films
Debmar Mercury to Sell Syndication Rights

TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the new series Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse from Tyler Perry Studios. The dramedy, based on Perry’s hit Why Did I Get Married? films, marks the third Tyler Perry series to come to TBS, which is also home to Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Meet the Browns. As with House of Payne and Meet the Browns, syndication will be sold by Debmar Mercury.
Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse follows the ups-and-downs of married life for Marcus and Angela, two characters who originated in the feature films Why Did I Get Married and Why Did I Get Married Too? Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight) and Tasha Smith (Couples Retreat) are set to reprise the roles of television anchor Marcus and salon owner Angela. Additional cast members to be announced.

For Better or Worse marks a new direction for Tyler Perry’s television properties. Unlike his family-oriented sitcoms, For Better or Worse will target young adults. Production on the series is slated to begin this summer at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

“Tyler Perry’s series have been tremendously successful for TBS, helping establish the network as a prime destination for African-American viewers,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “Given such a remarkable track record, we’re excited for the opportunity to expand our relationship with Tyler Perry and Debmar-Mercury with the new series For Better or Worse.”

For Better or Worse comes just as Tyler Perry’s history-making House of Payne prepares to end its highly successful run. “Even though it will be sad to say goodbye to House of Payne, I’m really looking forward to exploring new territory with For Better or Worse,” said Tyler Perry. “Working on House of Payne taught me a lot about what it takes to make a successful television series and I’m looking forward to applying that experience to For Better or Worse.”

Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein commented, “The entertainment industry has never seen anyone like Tyler Perry, an extraordinarily talented film/television/stage producer, writer, director, actor and mogul who is capable of repeatedly turning out hit after hit for both TBS and broadcast syndication. We are thrilled to be associated with another of Tyler’s unique, remarkable and groundbreaking series.”

TBS’s association with Perry and Debmar-Mercury first began in May 2006 with the announcement of a House of Payne test-run on 10 local independent stations. After the successful test, TBS and Debmar-Mercury announced an additional 100 episodes of the series to air nationally on TBS. The first-of-its-kind deal marked a new model for the television industry.

The national premiere of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne on TBS in June 2007 drew 5.9 million viewers, at the time basic cable’s biggest sitcom audience ever. The show remained basic cable’s #1 sitcom until TBS’s August 2008 premiere of Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns. For the first quarter of 2011, House of Payne and Meet the Browns ranked among television’s Top 5 primetime sitcoms with African-American adults 18-34 and 18-49.

This summer, VH1 and Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment bring viewers “ Single Ladies ,” a new romantic comedy series that asks the question: What do women really want in a relationship? Val (Stacey Dash) is an ambitious, aspiring fashion mogul who believes in fate, romance and finding that special someone to be with forever. Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) is a former video dancer who believes in making her own luck, her own money and choosing men with her head instead of her heart April (Charity Shea,) has found the “perfect” man for the “ideal” marriage – but is learning that marriage might not be her happily ever after. The series introduces Christina (Kassandra Clementi) a free-spirited, wild child intern with an eye for fashion that Val takes under her wing. “Single Ladies” is a modern, sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music, and celebrity that will constantly explore which woman has the right approach to relationships.

Donning the trademark eyeglasses and up 'do, Julianne Moore is proving she’s more than all right as former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

The The Kids Are All Right actress, 50, has transformed herself into the politician, 47, for the new HBO film, Game Change, which begins production Wednesday.

Costarring Ed Harris as John McCain, the film follows the Arizona U.S. Senator's 2008 presidential campaign from his selection of Palin as a running mate to their defeat in the general election. Woody Harrelson portrays Steve Schmidt, McCain's senior advisor. Lost's Melissa Farman has also been cast as Bristol Palin.

The film, directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, is based on the bestselling book of the same name. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are executive producers.

Kate Hudson (Photo Agency)Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy are engaged!

Hudson confirmed the happy news during an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday. After Matt Lauer asked about the giant rock sparkling on Hudson's left hand, Hudson gushed, "I'm engaged! It just happened a week ago. I'm so glad you noticed. I haven't really announced it."

Hudson is keeping the details of the proposal private, but she did say, "It was very sweet. It was very romantic."

Hudson and Bellamy were introduced at the Coachella Music Festival. Hudson has said of meeting her future husband, "Matthew was polite and immediately protective, which for somebody like me who's all over the place—one minute I'm over here and the next I'm over there—is important."

Lil Wayne’s long-awaited collaboration with Swizz Beatz has alluded fans, but it’s finally been tracked down. The Eminem-inspired record called “Anne” has been claimed by Weezy.

Originally set to appear on Swizz’ Haute Living album, the track was given to the Young Money rapper in exchange for a verse on Swizz’ “Rock ‘N’ Roll” single, the super-producer told Rap-Up.com at a recent listening. While unconfirmed, “Anne” may find a home on Tha Carter IV.

On the nostalgic song, for which a snippet leaked, Wayne tells Anne he’s sorry what happened to Stan. Swizz initially submitted “Anne” for Eminem’s Relapse album under the title “Stan 2.”

He also revealed that he has contributed a big beat for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album Watch the Throne and was recently in the studio with M.I.A., completing five to six songs for both their projects.

Find out what else Swizz Beatz has in store on Haute Living in our album preview.

Jennifer Lopez and Drake are getting animated. The superstars have been tapped to lend their vocal talents to 20th Century Fox’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, joining a cast that includes Keke Palmer, Jeremy Renner, Aziz Ansari, and Wanda Sykes in the fourth installment of the franchise.

The animated film, set for release on July 13, 2012, also sees actors Queen Latifah, Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and more reprising their roles from previous films. J.Lo is slated to play Shira, a sabre toothed who catches another tiger’s eye, while the Young Money rapper will voice a character named Ethan, according to Deadline.com.

The two stars will be warming up their vocal chops with their upcoming album releases. The “American Idol” judge will drop LOVE? on May 3, while Drizzy is currently working on his highly-anticipated sophomore LP Take Care.

The Canadian entertainer recently pulled out of the big screen drama Arbitrage so he could focus on his music. “I actually decided to work on my album instead of doing that particular film,” he told MTV News.

Ummmmmmm Blank Stare!!!!! Look at these two dudes LIVING!!!!!!! They look a koo koo fool! I Can't! & I won't. Not Today Kidz!!!!!!!

Since her divorce last fall, Christina Aguilera's life lessons – including her flubbing the lyrics to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and an arrest last month for public intoxication – have played out rather publicly.

One high point, besides her new gig as a mentor to young singers on NBC's The Voice, involves her love life.

"You have a new boyfriend," Ellen DeGeneres asked Aguilera, for an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday.

"There is someone very lovely in my life. Yes," answered Aguilera, referring to her boyfriend, film assistant Matt Rutler.

"That's all that matter's is that you're happy," said the host. "It's hard. Divorce is hard."

Aguilera, mother to 5-year-old son Max, whose dad is her ex-husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, acknowledged, "It definitely is hard."

"You deserve to have fun and date and stuff," said DeGeneres.

"Absolutely," Aguilera concurred.

Asked about the Super Bowl incident, Aguilera said, "That night I knew, I just made myself a Trivial Pursuit question ... 'In 2011, what female singer, ya know, flubbed the lyrics.' "

And Lisa Price recently wrote a letter to her customers talking about the direction her company is taking and explained how she chose her latest round of spokesmodels:

Carol's Daughter began 18 years ago because my mother saw something in me I had not yet seen in myself and encouraged me to take my love for mixing fragrances and turn it into something bigger.
I want to thank you for being part of this amazing journey! "It takes a village" rings true and I have taken your suggestions and comments to heart by creating new products like our Goddess Flower & Orange Ambrosia Collections as well as our new Dry Oil Mists & Frappe Body Lotions. everything they do. Solange is a fiery spirit with the strongest code of loyalty and artistry; Selita has
a heart of gold with an immense entrepreneurial drive and focus; and Cassie lives life to its fullest
while staying true to her roots and family. We had the opportunity to come together and exchange
hair stories & talk about our passions and what fuels them. Enjoy this glimpse of our conversation & I look forward to celebrating another 18 years with you!

Beyonce KnowlesWe're dotty about polka dots this spring! So, imagine our delight when Beyonce was spotted in Paris in this fab Marc Jacobs ensemble. The red-and-green dress—fresh from the fall runway, natch—featured small black spots, a curve-enhancing fitted silhouette and a cheongsam-like collar.

Beyonce kept her look prim and ladylike with Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps and a black crocodile Balmain tote. A sleek low bun highlighted her elegant turquoise-and-gold teardrop earrings, while natural makeup kept her look fresh for daytime.

Are you digging Beyonce's dots as much as we are?

Musiq Soulchild slows it down on “dowehaveto,” a soul-inspired cut off his album MusiqInTheMagiq, due May 3. On the tune, the Philly crooner reflects on a relationship where his girl causes drama just for the sake of stirring up trouble.

“Time and time again you got me wondering/ Why is it I ain’t getting through every time that we have an argument/ You always trying to win/ I’m just getting loud again, but you ain’t really mad at me,” he sings. Feel his pain below.

Lupe Fiasco brought his Lasers to late night. The 29-year-old MC performed “The Show Goes On” on Monday’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” rocking the stage with his band and singer Sarah Green. The show continues at MTV’s inaugural O Music Awards, where he will perform later in the week.

Here is a caption.Back in the day, celebrity fragrances were the exception not the norm. Nowadays, it doesn't matter if you're a reality star or an Oscar winner, any celeb worth her salt has a scent for the masses to pick up.

Nicki Minaj is no exception and is already planning ahead for her future perfume. She tells Allure:
Hopefully, I'll do one this year. I like scents that feel summer-y, but have a va-va-voom [factor]. I want to smell like a sexy and confident woman, not like candy. What do you think, are you looking forward to a Nicki Minaj scent?
