Lauryn Hill Writes An Open Letter About Relationship W/ Rohan Marley
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 3:06 AM
Lauryn Hill gave birth to her sixth child, a son called “Baby Boy Marley,” over the weekend. There were various reports questioning the father’s identity. The former Fugees member took to Twitter to address the speculation and defend her right to privacy.
Rohan Marley, the father of Hill’s five previous children, was rumored to have left the singer during her pregnancy for Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana. While some believed he was the father of the sixth child, his tweet suggested otherwise. “I’m forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son,” he tweeted. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate the love being sent to her RASTAFARI R.M.”
Ms. Hill blasted back at the reports. “Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child,” she wrote. “We have had long periods of separation over the years, but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us.”

Lauryn Hill has added another member to her growing family. The former Fugee gave birth to a baby boy over the weekend.
Hill, 36, welcomed a son on Saturday (July 23). The father was not immediately identified. She has five previous children with Bob Marley’s son Rohan Marley.
According to Blackcelebkids.com, who first reported the news, the Grammy-winning singer “had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.” But mother and child are doing fine. “All is well now and everyone is happy,” adds the source.

Hill first hinted at her pregnancy at one of her recent concerts. “I keep having these children. I don’t know if I’m the most fertile woman in America,” she joked during a Los Angeles gig.
She wrote an open letter to her fans last month where she addressed her pregnancy and apologized for being late to her shows. She is scheduled to perform at the Rock the Bells Festival next month

Rohan Marley Leaves Lauryn Hill (And Unborn Child) For Brazilian Model
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 3:37 AM
Lauryn Hill warned us that some guys are only about “that thing” in her song “Doo Wop,” and now her boyfriend has proved it. The miseducated diva’s longtime squeeze Rohan Marley has left her for Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana — and what’s worse, Lauryn is pregnant with (presumably) his child. The couple have been together since 1996 and have five other children together, and rumors of their split had already surfaced before it was confirmed today via Fontana’s Twitter. (Yikes.) Will this further derail Lauryn’s long, long, loooong-delayed follow-up album to her Grammy winner — or provide the inspiration she needs to create new music?
Given that Rohan is the son of the Rastafarian legend, we’re betting Lauryn won’t be singing any more tributes to Bob Marley any time soon.

Lauryn Hill (Getty)On Saturday, performer Lauryn Hill revealed to a Detroit, Michigan audience that she's expecting her sixth child this year.In April, Hill had hinted during a Los Angeles Club Nokia performance that she might be with child, saying, "I keep having these children. I don't know if I'm the most fertile woman in America. I've got five big children, you believe that? If you ask anybody I went to high school with, they'd be like puzzled. Wait till you hear the big secret though."
Interestingly enough, pregnancy doesn't seemed to have slowed Lauryn's performance schedule in the least. Just this weekend, it was announced that she'd be headlining Northern California's largest hip-hop festival, Rock the Bells, in August.

The House of Hill was rocking last night as Lauryn Hill took her parishioners to church. The former Fugees member braved the elements in New York City for a makeup performance at Highline Ballroom, rescheduled from a postponed December date.
The afro-sporting singer was all smiles as she took the Manhattan stage, singing reinterpreted versions of her classic tunes and looking fashionable in a black cloak draped over a zebra-striped blouse and accented by chunky jewelry.
Check out a soulful rendition of “Fu-Gee-La” below. Can we get an amen?

Some fans waited hours for Lauryn Hill to emerge during her show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday (Dec. 28). The New York Times captured video of Ms. Hill addressing the crowd after finally taking the stage around midnight.
“I spent my entire 20s sacrificing my life to give you love. So when I hear people complain, I don’t know what to tell you,” she told the audience, some of which booed her. “I personally know I’m worth the wait.”
Two fans held up signs that read “You Just Lost One” and “This Is Insulting,” but the Grammy-winning artist was not having it. “Don’t do that. That’s disrespectful,” she told them while motioning to the exit.
Dear Ms. Hill,
OK so I know you are a musical genius and all. Your album, Upon its release, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 422,624 copies in its first week was one of the best albums in History to be quite honest. I must say you are making it hard for you true devoted fans to stick by your side! If you can't handle "The Fame" or don't wanna be a "Celebrity" QUIT ALL TOGETHER! It's like any job, you show up to work late 2 hours, that azz is FIRED! If it wasn't for your fans you would have NOTHING!!!! Please always remember that, and don't take them for granted.
Tnx---- Management (LOL)

Lauryn Hill is gradually warming back up to the spotlight following years of shying away from the public eye, and she’s ready to talk about why she ducked out. Speaking with Fuse’s Touré at this year’s Rock the Bells Festival, L. Boogie shared that motherhood and public scrutiny forced her to hang up the mic.
“I wanted a real life as well, out of public scrutiny,” she explained. “I wanted to be able to live, to reclaim my private life, to reclaim my individuality outside of mass media scrutiny. I wanted that freedom to do whatever I wanted to do.”
Parenting and raising her children was Ms. Hill’s first priority. “Parenting, making sure that they had normalcy, privacy, and the right to be real people without the scrutiny and the pressure of the challenges that the media can put up sometimes… I wanted them to have a real childhood,” she said. “It’s some good timing. My youngest daughter is two-and-a-half now, so I was kind of a stay-at-home mom.”
The former Fugees member, whose recently liberated track “Repercussions” cracked the Billboard charts upon release, noted that she’s ready to express herself again through music—though she isn’t sure if she wants to put out a full-length album.
“Maybe [I'll release] some new recordings, in terms of what type of context they come out in… I’m real free,” she furthered. “I think I’m ready to express myself again. You have to live life so you have something substantial to share or else it’s kind of pointless and vain.”

After a medley of Fugees classics including “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La,” the braided-hair songstress delivered her own hits “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Turn Your Lights Down Low,” and closed with “Killing Me Softly.”
Ms. Hill will return to the U.S. for the Rock the Bells Festival, which kicks off in Los Angeles on August 21. A previously unheard track called “Repercussions” leaked last month, causing some to wonder if the Grammy winner is about to stage a comeback.
