Jennifer Lopez On SNL

Alicia Keys can’t be caged in. The Grammy-winning songbird broke free while performing “Love Is Blind” on the first date of her “Freedom” tour at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Friday (Feb. 26).

The 75-minute set included multiple wardrobe changes, stunning visual effects, and of course, Alicia’s powerhouse vocals. Thousands of fans were treated to classics such as “Fallin’” and “No One,” plus newer numbers like “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” and “Put It in a Love Song.”

Opening act Robin Thicke swept the ladies off their feet during his hour-long performance filled with sensual love songs. Melanie Fiona will join the tour when it hits the U.S. on March 3 in Rosemont, Ill.

Lupe Fiasco has sold millions of records and even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, but one goal not on his checklist is to follow in Jay-Z’s footsteps.

While many artists aspire to Mr. Carter’s level of success, the Chicago rapper is not interested in elevating his star. “I don’t want to be Jay-Z and be worth $400 million and perform on every awards show,” he tells Australian paper The Age.

Lupe’s plan is a little different. “It’s getting in touch with somebody who needs to improve their self-esteem, as opposed to driving a Bentley and putting some chains on.”

While they have collaborated previously, it’s safe to say Hov won’t be featured on Lupe’s third album Lasers, which was completed and submitted to his label Atlantic Records last month. “It’s an album we both feel comfortable putting out,” he says. “I’m somebody saying the things that maybe 98 percent of the music industry is not.”

Although he’s three albums deep, he still doesn’t consider himself a superstar. “There’s a misunderstanding with my fanbase. People [at Atlantic] feel they know my fans more than I do. They want me to step out of my comfort zone and step into theirs,” he reveals. “I don’t have necessarily the celebrity success they want me to have, but it’s more social success and being able to speak at a college about world affairs. That’s a success to me.”

Lupe will embark on his “Steppin Laser” tour with opening act B.o.B next Friday, March 5, in Claremont, Calif.

You can’t silence the Internet. After premiering her video for “Rude Boy,” Rihanna came under attack by outspoken viewers who immediately drew comparisons to M.I.A.’s “Boyz” clip. Director Melina Matsoukas has responded to the criticism.

The woman behind RiRi’s “Rude Boy” and “Hard” videos was disappointed to hear the backlash to her latest work, which was influenced by Rasta culture and Atari, but insists she wasn’t trying to copy anyone. “Afterward I was like, ‘Oh, this sucks. They tore down my video,’” Melina told MTV News. “And [M.I.A.'s] video’s great too. It definitely wasn’t trying to rip anybody off at all—it was just our approach and the animation stuff, it had a similar vibe.”

Her inspiration came from pop culture icons and not one source in particular. “We’ve seen that before with Grace Jones and Andy Warhol, so I don’t know if anybody can lay claim to anything,” she added. “We’re all inspired by similar elements and it came together in that way.”

Melina will keep her name in the spotlight with the video for Alicia Keys and Beyoncé’s “Put It in a Love Song.” The clip was filmed in Brazil and is set to debut in the coming weeks.

Beyoncé Talks To A.J

“Extra” and former “106 & Park” host AJ Calloway interviews Beyoncé backstage at her final concert in Trinidad for the I Am… world tour.

The worker B slightly loses her cool when asked for the millionth time about her relationship with husband Jay-Z and how she still plans to work on music during her time off.

Plus she ends her alter-ego’s life right before our eyes. “Sasha Fierce is done! I killed her,” she says.

Sade Is Forever Young

With her critically-acclaimed album Soldier of Love sitting at No. 1 for a second straight week and her hilarious sketch with Wanda Sykes, Sade is back and better than ever. Just check out these two new promo photos. Does the 51-year-old singer ever age?

Rihanna hit up the U.K. promo circuit, performing “Rude Boy” on “GMTV” and “Chatty Man.” RiRi brings out the guns and gets a little freaky with British talk show host Alan Carr while teaching him how to Dutty Wine.

Jim Carrey just became a grandpa today, as his daughter Jane just gave birth to a baby boy Friday. The 22-year-old named her first son Jackon Riley Santana, and he was born at 12:28 Friday morning in L.A. He weighed a healthy 7 pounds, 11 oz. and mom and baby are happy and healthy, according to Us magazine.

Jane, Jim, and Jenny (Getty)"Something beautiful is right around the corner! ;^)" Carrey tweeted Tuesday. Friday morning, he added, "right around the corner! ;^)"

Jane married the baby daddy Alex Santana, from the band Blood Money, in November. He goes by the name Nitro, and Jane is in her own band, The Jane Carrey Band. We're betting their son will be rocking out before too long!

Jenny McCarthy, Jim's longtime girlfriend, said this week that she's super excited to become a grandma.

Marie Osmond's teenaged son, Michael Blosil, has killed himself by leaping to his death around 9 p.m. Friday in Los Angeles, reports Entertainment Tonight, which quotes Marie's brother, Donny Osmond, as saying, "Please pray for my sister and her family."

Through her rep, Marie Osmond released a statement Saturday. It says, “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

According to ET, Michael left a note explaining he intended to end his life after a lengthy battle with severe depression that left him, he said, feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in.

In 2007, Michael, then 16, entered a rehab facility. His mother said at the time, "My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him."

The reason for the visit to rehab was never disclosed. Michael is one of eight children Osmond has raised with ex-husband Brian Blosil.

By March 2009, Marie told PEOPLE that Michael seemed to be turning his life around. He was finishing up his last year of high school while living with his mom in Las Vegas, where she and Donny headline a show.

"I couldn't be more proud of him," Marie said at the time. "He's got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He's looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges."

A rep for Donny and Marie Osmond confirmed to PEOPLE that the show at the Flamingo Hotel was canceled Saturday night. It is being determined how long the hiatus will remain in effect.

Marie Osmond, one of nine Utah-bred Osmond siblings, began performing with her brothers at age 3. She has been outspoken about the trials of her own life in the spotlight.

In her 2001 memoir Behind the Smile, she detailed her battle with postpartum depression following the birth of her son Matthew. She also revealed that she had been sexually abused as a child.

She did not identify her abusers but said they were not family members.

In 2006, Marie's rep denied that the singer had tried to commit suicide, attributing reports about Osmond to the postpartum she suffered.

Sounds like Zahara and Shiloh are growing up to be Daddy's girls! The tots accompanied their father Brad Pitt on a shopping spree recently to the Bonpoint children's boutiques in Paris.

The kids were allowed to pick their own items, and Shiloh opted for boys’ outfits rather than girlie clothes. A source told People magazine: "Zahara chose very girlie outfits, but Shiloh only wanted items from the boys' collection, which is in another boutique across the street.”

Shiloh, Brad and Zahara take a stroll (Bauer Griffin)Another source told X17 Online: "Shiloh had absolutely no interest in the pretty dresses or skirts."

Brad splashed out $10,000 on the entire Spring/Summer 2010 Bonpoint boys’ collection for Shiloh -- she particularly enamored with a pair of acid-yellow jeans -- and later returned to spend another $4,000, either for Shiloh or one of his other children.

After their shopping expedition, Brad, Zahara and Shiloh met up with the kids' mom Angelina Jolie for lunch at a suite in the Hotel du Louvre. She'd spent the day shooting her new movieThe Tourist.

The Inglourious Basterds star has previously revealed that Shiloh, who showed off a new cropped haircut this week, only responds to the name John after growing obsessed with Peter Pan.

Brad said: “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing. So we've got to call her John, 'Shi, do you want...' -- 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?'"

He added, "It's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents, and it's probably really obnoxious to other people."

What's On Snoops IPod

What does Snoop Dogg blaze, aside from the sticky icky, when he’s listening to his iPod? The D-O-Double-G keeps it old school with a little soul from Marvin Gaye, an ounce of West Coast rap from Eazy-E, and even some Ol’ Blue Eyes. Snoop, who will release his More Malice: Deluxe Album & Movie on March 23, shares his O.G. playlist with iTunes.

1. “You Turned My Whole World Around” – Barry White
2. “My Summer Vacation” – Ice Cube
3. “Boyz-N-the-Hood” – Eazy-E
4. “So Whatcha Sayin’” – EPMD
5. “Short Eyes/Freak, Freak, Free, Free, Free” – Curtis Mayfield
6. “I Choose You” – Willie Hutch
7. “Gloria” – Enchantment
8. “When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You” – Marvin Gaye
9. “Talk to Me, Talk to Me” – Little Willie John
10. “Convoy” – Blowfly
11. “Freaky Tales” – Too $hort
12. “So Many Tears” – 2Pac
13. “New York, New York” – Frank Sinatra

Monica warned us before. She’s just “Too Hood,” as evident in her new video for “Everything to Me,” the first single from her sixth studio album Still Standing (March 23). Mo fights to protect her man, played by Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, who’s being stalked by an Eva Mendes look-alike in the Benny Boom-directed clip. It’s goin’ down.

Ice Cube's Return

The West Coast is officially back. If the forthcoming release of Snoop Dogg’s More Malice and Game’s R.E.D. Album weren’t enough, now L.A.’s own Ice Cube is returning to the scene with his ninth studio album.

The rapper-turned-actor has announced the title, I Am the West, and tentative release date for his first musical project since 2008’s Raw Footage. In a blog entry dated Wednesday (Feb. 24), Cube also laments about the current state of radio and thanks the West Coast MCs who have kept the genre alive.

I AM THE WEST…is the name of my new record. After completing about 65% of my music, this is the perfect title. This shit is cocky, no apologies, West Coast gangsta shit. I can’t help it. That’s what I do. June seems too tight for a release, but July is very doable. We’ll see how things go. Now that I have my title, I can work on the concept of my photoshoot and artwork. I want to provide early merch before the drop date.

For 7 or 8 years now the West Coast has been trying to do music that appeals to the South and Mid-West. The words, “too West Coast” would be heard throughout the industry whenever our music was played. Even by our own dj’s. Left coast MC’s were now trying to change their sound to cater to all the followers. We lost our way. Thank God for b-boys like Snoop, The Game & WC for keeping the West alive, but we were all guilty of over reaching. No more. At least not from me. I do it how I feel it; not how I think it should be done. Radio fucked us up. I hate the politics at radio. I don’t know who to pay to get my shit played. Having a hot song is not enough. Ridiculous.

I AM THE WEST. It’s coming….

Keep It Gangsta

Jay-Z New Album Soon?

The Blueprint 3 is still paying off for Jay-Z, but the music mogul is already on to the next one.

Mr. Carter tells The Associated Press that he has started thinking about his twelfth studio album. “Maybe after I finish [the 'BP3'] tour I’ll start another album,” he reveals, adding, “Maybe at the end of the year. We’ll see if the inspiration hits me.”

But for now, he’s concentrating on perfecting the second leg of his arena tour. “I’ve been working on my live show for 10 years now, just trying to get it better and better. I used to come out with just a DJ, now I got a band. The production’s gotten bigger and the lighting guy takes off his shoes and he plays to the beat,” he laughs. “The whole thing is being upgraded every single year.”

The Blueprint 3 tour makes its next stop in New Orleans on Thursday with supporting acts Young Jeezy and Trey Songz.

Beyonce Knowles married hip-hop superstar Jay-Z in a secret ceremony in 2008, but both are try to keep their home life out of the press. She told Germany's FHM magazine: "The thought scared me at first. But now I think my music is more than just performing, dancing and shooting videos. I try to show women that we need to be there for each other and support each other and that you have to work to reach your goals."

Time isn't healing all wounds, as evidenced by Morgan Freeman's left hand, which has been paralyzed since he was injured in a car accident a year-and-a-half ago, he tells PEOPLE.

The Oscar-winning star, again nominated this year as Best Actor for playing Nelson Mandela in Invictus, says he's never fully healed after the August 2008 crash.

"I suffered nerve damage and it hasn't gotten better. I can't move it,” Freeman, 72, said at Wednesday's Los Angeles County Museum of Art premiere of The Eastwood Factor, a documentary about the storied career of Freeman's friend and frequent director, Clint Eastwood. (The featurette is part of the 19-disc Warner Home Video collection, Clint Eastwood: 35 Films 35 Years at Warner Bros., which was released Tuesday.)

"If you don't move your hand, it will swell up," Freeman said. "Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?"

Jennifer Hudson dons a milk mustache in the latest Got Milk? campaign. The Oscar winner, who lost 56 pounds to play Winnie Mandela in the biopic Winnie, proves milk does her body good.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's relationship is under constant scrutiny, but they at least have one fan: Justin's mom Lynn Harless. She said she and her husband Paul count the actress as “one of us.” And, she's hoping the "SexyBack" singer hunkers down soon and starts a family. Lynn wants to be a grandma!

Jessica and Justin make a great pair, according to his mom. (Getty)Lynn said about Jessica: "She's amazing. She's so down-to-earth and her family is great. I've had friends who have grandchildren and I've tried to express to Justin that I'm losing that race. But I have grandpuppies. Justin has two boxers and she has a pitbull who's now part of the family. I said, ‘I'll leave you alone about the grandkids as long as you leave the puppies with me.’”

Although Lynn was full of praise for Jessica, who has been dating Justin on and off for three years, she refused to say if she thinks the actress is "The One" for her 29-year-old son. She told People magazine: "You should ask him. I've thought that before. They're young. They have plenty of time."

As well as thinking Jessica makes a great girlfriend for Justin, Lynn admires the 29-year-old beauty’s accomplishments. She said: "She was at my house around Christmas and there was this crazy noise coming from my gym. To get ready for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Jessica had the treadmill to the highest level and was running with a 40lb backpack. I want to be her when I grow up."

Earlier this week, Nicole confirmed she was getting married when she appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman, sporting a sparkling engagement ring. Good Charlotte singer Joel later confirmed the news, revealing they had managed to keep their engagement secret for some time.

Sade Is # 1

Ten years away from the spotlight hasn’t hurt Sade’s career. The British soul singer and her band storm the charts with their first album in a decade.

Soldier of Love, Sade’s sixth studio album, had no trouble debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with a whopping 502,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It also marks Sade’s first No. 1 debut and personal best sales week since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

To add to the list of accomplishments, Soldier of Love holds the best sales week for an album by a group since AC/DC’s Black Ice in 2008 (784,000). The group’s previous album, 2000’s Lovers Rock, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with 370,000 sold in its opening week.

Music fans were definitely eager for Another Round from Jaheim. The R&B crooner scores the second-highest debut of the week with his fifth studio project, making its way in at No. 3 with 112,000. Jaheim’s last studio effort, The Makings of a Man, benefitted from a Christmas sales boost in 2007 with 176,000 units.

Last week’s biggest debut, Lil Wayne’s Rebirth, falls two spots to No. 4 with 89,000, a 49% drop off from its first week.

Toni Braxton has enlisted some of entertainment’s biggest stars for her new album including Trey Songz, Robin Thicke, and Usher, and now she’s rounding out the prestigious list with an Oscar nominee.

Comedian-turned-actress Mo’Nique, who is up for an Academy Award for her role in Precious, makes a cameo on Braxton’s sixth studio album. “She does a monologue on one of my songs,” the R&B diva exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. The track was inspired by Oran “Juice” Jones’ 1986 hit “The Rain.”

“It’s about this relationship where this guy finds out his girl is cheating on him. We do a song, it doesn’t sound anything like that, but it’s the reverse of a guy who gets busted cheating. [Mo'Nique] does this whole monologue and it’s really funny and comedic.”

The Grammy winner reached out to the Golden Globe winner, who happily obliged. “She said, ‘Oh my God, I’d love to do it.’ I’ve always been a fan of hers and we’re both from Maryland. I love her.”

The winning combination can be heard on Pulse, due May 4. Until then, the “Un-Break My Heart” singer is rooting for her friend at next month’s Oscar ceremony. “We’re great friends, she’s really cool. I’m really excited for her about her Oscar.”

Mary J. Blige treated her hometown fans to a performance and interview on Tuesday’s “Late Show with David Letterman.” She returned for a 30-minute post-show concert streamed online from New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater, covering over 15 years of hits from 1994’s “Be Happy” to 2010’s “I Am.”

The three-time Brit Award winner later thanked the fashion designer during her acceptance speech.

Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, has not acknowledged he's the baby daddy of Alexsandra Wright's child, but a judge may force him to pay child support -- at least until DNA results are in.

Alexsandra claims she had an 18 month relationship with Knowles and that he's the father of Nixon, who was born February 4.

In an L.A. court this AM, Lance Spiegel, lawyer for Mathew Knowles, and Neal Hersh, Alexsandra's attorney, talked support numbers with the judge. The numbers that were thrown around were in the $20,000 a month range.

Spiegel claims Mathew paid $10,000 for hospital costs related to the birth.

Spiegel said a DNA test will be performed March 1.

The judge just took a recess for lunch, without deciding if Knowles will have to pay support ... and if so, how much.

Sade heads to the West Coast for the next leg of her promo tour. She and the band made a stop on Tuesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show” to perform “Soldier of Love.” Their first album in a decade is expected to sell over 425,000 copies in its first week. Don’t call it a comeback.
