Lil' Wayne Update!

Not even a jail cell can hold down Lil Wayne. After releasing his rock album Rebirth, performing with Eminem and Drake at the Grammys, and singing Bob Dylan’s part on the “We Are the World” remake, Wayne is not worried about his impending prison sentence.

“I’m prepared for any situation,” the rapper tells Rolling Stone for the magazine’s latest issue. “I’ve never been afraid of anything but God. I look at it as an experience. I say I’m looking forward to it.”

He will keep abreast of the outside world while he’s gone through music. “I’ll have an iPod, and I’ll make sure [my management] keeps sending me beats.” He plans to keep his name out there through jailhouse Twitter accounts and endorsements.

So how will Weezy spend his last days of freedom before heading to prison on February 9 to serve a year on gun possession? This Sunday, he will be watching the New Orleans Saints take on the Indianapolis Colts at Super Bowl XLIV. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be rooting for his home team.

“Even though he’s from the City, he’s a true sports fan,” says Young Money president Mack Maine. “He’s like a scientist about that. He has ESPN tattooed on his leg. I love sports, but I’m for my home team. Wayne, he’s different.”

According to the magazine, Tha Carter IV, Wayne’s highly-anticipated follow-up to 2008’s best-selling album, is scheduled to arrive shortly after he gets out in 2011.
