Beyoncé - "Schoolin' Life"

Michael Stipe (Getty Images)REM frontman Michael Stipe has enjoyed relationships with both men and women in the past, but he says it wasn’t until meeting his current boyfriend that he realized he preferred men.He said: “On a sliding scale of sexuality I’d place myself around 80-20, but I definitely prefer men to women. I had sex with, and enjoyed sex with, women until I met someone that I fell in love with, and who is now my boyfriend.”
The 51-year-old singer admits his sexuality led to him feeling as if he didn’t fit in anywhere while he was a young man in the '80s.
He told The Observer newspaper: “I wasn’t troubled or confused, but I just felt there wasn’t a place for me. I hate and refuse to apply the term bisexual to myself. It doesn’t seem appropriate. It feels like just another label. For a time I was conflicted by how I was represented, and then AIDS came, and that’s an era that has still be to be spoken about in depth by people of my age.
"It was a very difficult time to be honest and frank about one’s sexuality. And a very scary time for people like myself, who were not able to be tested anonymously without some concern.”

The singer, 62, and husband David Furnish, 48, welcomed son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Dec. 25, John's rep confirms to our friends over @PEOPLE.
The 7 lb., 15 oz., baby was delivered via surrogate in California.
"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment," the couple, who exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in 2005, said in a statement. "Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents."
Just last year, Furish told PEOPLE they were going to wait to start a family until John was ready to come off the road.
"We don't want to put the raising of children into the hands of nannies and housekeepers," said Furnish. "We want to be active parents. We have godchildren [and] kids that we support in Africa, so we're fine."

Kye Allums is about to become the first openly trans person to play NCAA Division 1 basketball. And while his life hasn't always been easy, a lot of people could learn from his story.
According to Cyd Zeigler of Outsports, Allums was born a girl, but often preferred to identify and dress as a boy. His mom wasn't always supportive. Allums recalls, I've always felt most comfortable dressing like a boy, but my mom would take all of my clothes from me and she'd force me to wear girl clothes. I'd bring sweats and basketball shorts and put them in my backpack. I'd just change every day when I got to school, and I had to change back before I went home. It was annoying, but it was the only way I could go to school.
But it was a text from his mom that sparked an epiphany — his mom wrote "Who do you think you are, young lady?" and he realized "He wasn't a young lady at all." Says Allums,
I used to feel like trans anything was really weird and those people were crazy, and I wondered, ‘How can you feel like that?' But I looked it up on the Internet and I thought, ‘Oh my god, I'm one of those weird people.' And I realized they're not weird. It's all in your mindset and how you think.
When Allums told his (female) teammates about his gender, they initially made jokes. But then they began to take him seriously. Says one, We were all just talking, a bunch of teammates, and he said that he's a guy. At first I didn't understand, and then he explained that sex is how you're born and gender is how you identify yourself. Then I started to understand.
Allums was especially concerned about his coach Mike Bozeman's reaction, because of comments the coach had made about religion. And while the conversation started off tense, Bozeman ultimately said,
Why would you think I wouldn't have your back? I've had your back through everything. Our relationship has grown from nothing to this, and now you think I'd just turn my back on you because you told me this? No. I love you and I'll always be here for you.

Jane Lynch Tells Ellen DeGeneres She Made It Easier to Come Out

Ellen DeGeneres on the cover of the April 14, 1997 issue of Timemagazine. (Time.com)Jane Lynch had a hard time coming out of the closet, and she told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview scheduled to air Wednesday, that she made it easier to be openly gay."I used to lay in bed and go, 'How will I come out or will I come out?," she explained in the interview. Lynch, 50, said that when Ellen appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1997 to confirm her sexual orientation it changed things for other closeted women in show business.
"You were at the height of your fame and you came out," Lynch told her. "And that just blazed a trail for me. It really did. It made it so much easier for me what you did."
Lynch married her wife, psychologist Dr. Lara Embry, in May. She acknowledged that it was probably easier for a character actor like herself to come out as opposed to a leading lady.
"If Julia Roberts we're gay, I think it would be harder," she said. "She's an ingénue."

Neil Patrick Harris (Getty)"So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall," Harris confirmed on Twitter today (via People.com): "We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..."Big things are on the way for these two: NPH is also nominated for 3 Emmy Awards, and we'll see if he walks away with any (or maybe all!) of them in late August. Then, we're guessing the focus will be on babies.
This isn't the first time baby rumors have been spread about these two: A tabloid reported last year that David and Neil had visited a surrogacy agency in LA to get the ball rolling.
NPH and Burtka, a chef and occasional actor, have been together about 6 years.

The happy couple at the Daytime Emmy Awards. (Getty Images)"[Portia] loves me no matter what. Whenever I feel bad about myself, or if I'm in a period where I'm not working out, she's constantly telling me that she doesn't notice, that I look beautiful. She'll say, 'I think you could gain 10 more pounds,'" says the 52-year-old comedian and television host.Says DeGeneres, "She would rather have me heavier than thinner, and she really hates that I ever doubt myself. She loves how I look. She wants me to be happy and never think about it."
For all the positive reinforcement, DeGeneres does keep in shape. Her secret? "No animals, no dairy, nothing processed; a lot of soup, veggies, rice, beans, legumes," says the American Idol judge. "I want to be on my toes; I want to have energy. And as much as the diet seems like a sacrifice, it's helping me."

Rosie O'Donnell is off the market!
The comedian and former TV talk show host – who in mid-November revealed that her longtime partner Kelli Carpenter moved out of their home two years ago – is now dating Tracy Kachtick-Anders, a Texas-based artist.
The pair were spotted walking hand-in-hand in Miami Beach on Tuesday.
Last month, when asked if she was enjoying the single life, O'Donnell, 47, told our friends over at PEOPLE, "I'm not. But on we grow, so to speak."
And in October, in an interview with Examiner.com, Kachtick-Anders said, "Maybe for a future plan, I'd like a date with an inspiring woman!"
Like O'Donnell, Kachtick-Anders is active in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parenting and adoption issues. She launched Open Arms Campaign, a non-profit organization to recruit and foster adoptive families that targets the LGBT community. "I have become an activist and work to educate everyone, not only about the plight of foster children," she wrote on TheRainbowBabies.com, "but also the inequality that faces LGBT people in their quest to create families." Kachtick-Anders has six children, five of whom are adopted, according to the Examiner.com.
O'Donnell, meanwhile, is gearing up for the airing on HBO in late January of A Family Is A Family Is A Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration, a documentary that challenges the traditional ideas of family.

Kanye West brought his new video chick girlfriend Amber Rose across the pond to London’s Fashion Week.

But we’re told those rumors you’ve been hearing about Amber being a lesbian are true. Our source who used to work with the little blondie tellsour friends over @ YBF that Ms. Amber, also known as Amber Levonchuck, has a dom ex-girlfriend Tiffany, aka Tre or Trevon. And yes, that’s them gettin’ cozy in the pics above. Apparently Tre is extra pissy that Amber dumped her with no warning as soon as Kanye started showing her some attention a few weeks ago.
Another one of our sources tells us that Amber and Trevon had been dating for two years before Kanye wooed her in his life with the expensive gifts and shiny things. Supposedly ‘Ye is in utter and sheer love for this girl and proudly tells everyone she is his girlfriend. I guess he also doesn’t mind Amber used to be a stripper at Sue’s in Mount Vernon, NY and Dillilah’s in Philly where she went under the name Paris.
Trevon allegedly lives in The Bronx and is totally in depressed mode over Amber and Kanye’s relationship.

Jermaine Jakes, son of Evangelist T.D. Jakes, was arrested for lewd behavior last month. Apparently he walked up to one of two detectives at a park in Dallas with his pants unzipped. He then began to masturbate while making eye contact with the detective. He was charged with indecent exposure. Just…wow.

How U Doin' Aubrey O’Day. She was seen outside of Club Butter “making out” with model and heiress to a publishing fortune Lydia Hearst. I guess she has to do all she can to keep the checks coming in as she just announced to the world on her blog that Danity Kane is broke…or “poor” as she puts it.
