Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are starting 2011 single.

"They're over," a source tells our friends over @PEOPLE about the short-lived relationship. "It ended last month."

No reason was given for a split, and the stars reps didn't have immediate comment, but the two spent the holidays – and their birthdays – apart.

Swift, 21, rang in 2011 in Nashville, solo, at a party, while Gyllenhaal, 30, was in New York, where he attended a closing party for Broadway's Fela! on Jan. 2. While in the Big Apple, Gyllenhaal was also spotted dining with his mother at the Spotted Pig.

After spending Thanksgiving weekend together, the two were last seen publicly together on Dec. 9 in Los Angeles.

Gyllenhaal and Swift were first spotted together in October backstage at Saturday Night Live – followed by a brunch in Brooklyn. • Reporting by CARLOS GREER and KAY WEST

Beyonce was spotted in NYC wearing a pair of studded “Heavy Metal” leggings (approx. $23) from Icelandic brand E-Label and Alexander McQueen Buckled Zip Ski Boots ($1,495). The leggings were created by E-Label designer Asgrimur Mar Fridriksson, and the front legs are covered in silver metal studs. Beyonce is also rocking a Wildfox “Love is Everything” t-shirt ($64).

Vivica A. Fox and Omar "Slim" White (Getty Images)Auntie Viv has never hid her cougar status. The 46-year-old actress even hosted reality show The Cougar in 2009. Now she's engaged to Atlanta club promoter Omar "Slim" White, who at 27, is 19 years younger than her.

Vivica confirmed to People on Tuesday that Slim proposed and she accepted. "We did get engaged on Dec. 26," she said. "And we are very happy!"

While we haven't seen pictures yet, the word is Slim proposed with an eight-karat rock while the two were staying at the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach. The two have been dating for just over a year and this will be Vivica's second marriage. She was married to singer Christopher "Sixx-Nine" Harvest from 1998 to 2002.

According to Page Six, Vivica and Slim spent New Year's Eve celebrating with Dwyane Wade and Sanaa Lathan at a party hosted by Chris Bosh. It sounds like she's excited about the coming nuptials.

"She is over the moon – so excited, so in love," a source told People. "She got the ring while they were staying at Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, over the holidays."

Halle Berry (Pacific Coast News)Halle Berry has a two-year-old daughter Nahla with her former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and she says her priorities have changed completely since becoming a mother.

Halle said: “Children shift your priorities and now I have a greater purpose for being here. I love making movies but I would give it all up to be with my daughter if I had to because she’s the love of my life.

“She’s made me a better person because everything I do and say, everything I want and don’t want, I think first, ‘Will this be best for her?’

“When you have children you get to see things all over again. So I’ve never laughed as hard, I’ve never done more silly things, and I go to great lengths to make her laugh. She’s awakened a childlike side of me."

The 44-year-old beauty -- who is currently dating actor Oliver Martinez -- also admitted Nahla has influenced her taste in men.

She explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Every choice I make now, and that includes who I choose to spend personal time with as a partner, is not just about me any more, it’s about what’s best for her.”

However the actress is happy in her new relationship and revealed things have never been better for her.

She said: “I am just a girl who met a boy; a girl who liked a boy; a boy liked the girl and then that’s what happened.

“I’ve wanted this for so long and I feel happier than ever before.

“I’m happy and fulfilled and I’m in a really good space in my life. I’ve survived many highs and many lows and I think I have it all in perspective now -- never get too high and never get too low.”

Usher was spotted wearing the very popular Maison Martin Margiela leather jacket ($2,195) at his NYE/OMG tour after party at Dream nightclub in Miami Beach. He is also seen wearing a pair of vintage Cazal 951 sunglasses.

Paula Abdul (Getty Images)Don't believe everything that you read. So says Paula Abdul, who fired back against rumors that she was intoxicated during her time on American Idol.

"I've never had a drinking problem, even though I've been in this business for quite some time," Abdul said during an appearance on CBS News' Sunday Morning. "I've never physically been drunk in my life. I've never been drunk in my life! I don't use recreational drugs -- but I am goofy."

If you don't believe her, just ask her former co-workers. "The people on Idol know that none of that [drug abuse] existed, ever."

She also laughed off the public perception that she's a bit of an airhead. "I am intelligent. Having a brain, that's a concept, yes, with Paula Abdul," she said. "I have a brain."

Soulja Boy takes the collaborative process literally on the cover for his next single “Hey Cutie” featuring Trey Songz. The 20-year-old rapper, who recently dropped his third album The DeAndre Way, appears to be mashed up with Trey in the Photoshopped image, which shows some of S. Beezy’s signature tattoos and Trigga’s devious smile.

In addition to filming the video with Trey next week, the S.O.D. Money Gang leader has been bragging about his accomplishments in 2010, including the unconfirmed fact that he helped write Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair.” “YES ITS TRUE I WROTE ‘WHIP MY HAIR’ FOR WILLOW SMITH. THATS WHY SHE SAYS HOP OUT THE BED TURN MY SWAG ON. WE GETTING $$$ 2011 NO GAMES,” he tweeted.

Do you believe Soulja Boy lent his writing expertise to Willow’s breakout hit?

Christina Milian is starting off the new year by coming to terms with the past. The sexy singer is revealing what caused her divorce from The-Dream and what she’s learned from the trying experience.

The 29-year-old opens up to Latina magazine about the cheating scandal that rocked her world. “I didn’t know anything. But looking back, my gut was telling me something was off. But I thought I could fix it,” she said after pics surfaced online of her former husband getting close with his personal assistant.

But she still tried to make things work. “No matter what, you can’t change who you are. I know that now. I tried to be someone I wasn’t because I wanted my marriage to work. But ultimately, if it’s not working, it’s not working.”

She also shares how the breakup helped her become more self-aware and resilient in dealing with heartache. “I learned a lot about myself this year,” she explained. “I learned what I can handle. I learned how much I can take. I learned who I am and what I will accept for myself and my daughter.”

Describing herself as feeling “brand new,” the Cuban-American songstress gushed about how much she loves being a mom to daughter Violet, and how it’s changed her life in unexpected ways. “Being a new mother definitely makes me feel so much sexier than ever before,” she said. “There’s a certain responsibility that I carry being a mom that makes me feel very confident and so blessed. Being a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Her newfound confidence comes in the wake of her divorce from The-Dream, who she married in September 2009 after becoming pregnant with his child. They announced their separation last summer.

Now that she’s conquered the charts with her debut album Pink Friday, what are Nicki Minaj’s plans for 2011? “My goal for 2011 is to rule the world,” said the multi-colored hair Barbie while hosting her All-Pink Everything New Year’s Eve party at Mansion in Miami.

While she doesn’t believe in making a New Year’s resolution, one thing she won’t be doing this year is picking up the clarinet. “I don’t think that’s sexy,” she said of her past hobby.

Mila Kunis and Macauley Culkin have gone their separate ways after 8 years together, reports Us magazine. Apparently they broke up a while back, but decided to keep the news under wraps until Mila had finished promoting her flick Black Swan.

"The split was amicable, and they remain close friends," Kunis' rep said.
Mila and Macauley got together in 2002.
The actress has always been open about her feelings against marriage, though she said last year that she did want to start a family. She said about the prospect of getting hitched: "Not to say that I don't believe in it, but it's just not something that's important to me. But I will have children. I'm too selfish to have them now, but when I do, I don't feel like I need to be married. I need to have a person in my life who will care for me and my children -- nothing else."

Jazmine Sullivan recently released her sophomore album Love Me Back, but now she may be throwing in the towel. Last night, the Philly soulstress took to her Twitter account to announce that she was retiring from the music industry, later deleting her tweets, but the shockwaves are still being felt.

“i’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i’m trying to figure out who i am… w/out a mike, paper or pen,” tweeted the 23-year-old. “i promised myself that when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i’m not saying i wont ever sing again in my life becuz i dont believe that. but in this moment… rt now… i got some things to figure out.”

Before removing the tweets, she also thanked her fans for their unwavering support and helping her boost her confidence as a performer. “i love you all and appreciate u soooooo much. u have no idea how much u’ve inspired me and fed my ego. but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i’m lookin for. that belief in myself. me. I. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue.”

She returned to Twitter today after her worried followers expressed their concern. “i’m fine everyone. just switching things up a bit till i get it right,” she assured them. “now kanye… thats who we should have a prayer circle for. lolol.”

The R&B powerhouse’s critically-acclaimed second album was released at the end of November, bowing at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 with 57,000 copies in its first week.

While Gaga didn't release any new music in 2010, The Fame,The Fame Monster, and the many many singles packed onto the album and its redux have kept her in the charts all year. The year-end pole position is just one more big accomplishment to polish off a huge year for Gaga.

Over the course of 2010, Gaga took home two Grammys, eight MTV Video Music Awards, two People's Choice Awards, and a slew of other honors as she continued to dominate airwaves with "Telephone" and "Alejandro."

And it doesn't get any easier for artists competing with Gaga. The Queen Monster's highly anticipated new album, Born This Way is due out sometime in 2011. Gaga plans to announce the actual release date as part of her New Year's Eve celebration.

Rihanna said goodbye to 2010 at PURE in Sin City on New Year’s Eve. The red-haired starlet, dressed in a body-hugging striped dress, hosted a paid gig at the Las Vegas nightclub, counting down to 2011 with thousands of guests who paid hundreds of dollars to party with the pop princess. RiRi’s girlfriends were by her side as the newly single star raised a toast to the future.

Jennifer Hudson was feeling and looking good during her appearance on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” The slim superstar sang “Feeling Good,” which is featured in her new Weight Watchers commercial. Watch J-Hud’s red-hot performance below!

Kim Kardashian spent her New Year's Eve at TAO in Las Vegas, and she partied the night away in a bedazzling with dress with her hot date -- her brother Rob! Yep, she brought her baby bro, not her rumored beau Kris Humphries (that we know of), to the swanky club to ring in 2011.

Kim and Rob Kardashian (via Twitter)"Who's excited for the new year? Let's leave the past behind us and move forward! Do better and push yourself in 2011!" she wrote on her Twitter page before the festivities got underway.

Later in the evening, she posted a pic of herself and her "New Year's date," brother Rob, and then added another pic of herself sitting next to BFF Brittny Gastineau.

Kim was certainly dressed to impress, and sounds like she had a night to remember!

Viva the New Year!

In what was sure to be one of the most star-studded concerts of the year, Jay-Z and Coldplay rocked Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, performing at the grand opening of The Cosmopolitan, a $3.9 billion hotel on the famous Strip.

But those two acts weren't the only ones to take the stage: Beyoncé, Kanye West and John Mayer all made surprise appearances during Jay-Z's performance.

Beyoncé joined her husband for "Forever Young" and sang "Halo" with Chris Martin. Mayer played guitar with Jay-Z on his hit song "99 Problems."

"All the problems you were going through have been kicked out the door," Jay-Z told the crowd before a collaborative performance of West's "Homecoming," which featured Jay-Z, West and Martin.

Gwyneth Paltrow was also on hand to watch the show – and ring in the 2011 with her husband and close friends.

The intimate crowd was littered with celebrities to witness the show that Jay-Z called "once in a lifetime." Following their Mexican vacation, Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez were spotted in the audience. Diaz spent some of the evening chatting with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, not far from Ellen Pompeo and Blake Lively.

Before the concert Pompeo said she doesn't make New Year's resolutions, but she has a goal for the year, which is "being happy every day."

Pompeo added, "I have a great job, a great husband, a great baby. I have a lot to be thankful for all the time."

Following the concert, the stars headed to Marquee Las Vegas where famed DJ Eric Morrillo entertained the crowd.

Nicki Minaj hit up club Mansion in Miami to host a New Year’s Eve celebration. The hip-hop Barbie, wearing a sexy black-and-gold number and rainbow-colored hair, capped a breakthrough year at the All Pink Everything Belvedere Vodka affair, with Harajuku Barbie dancers, cotton candy machines, and pink cocktails. The evening included a midnight countdown by Nicki herself and an impromptu performance of “Moment 4 Life.” Live in the moment below.

“If you ready to party, say hell yeah!” Nicki Minaj told her Barbz, who braved the cold to catch her perform on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.” The Harajuku Barbie, keeping warm in a white fur coat, hat, and boots, performed “Moment 4 Life” and “Save Me” on a Manhattan rooftop in the pre-taped piece. Watch below!

Willow Smith blasted into the new year on a giant boombox to perform her ubiquitous hit “Whip My Hair” during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” The 10-year-old singer switched it up for 2011 with a remixed version of her single. Watch Willow turn the volume all the way up and look for her Roc Nation debut in March!

Lady Gaga’s little monsters received a new year’s treat from their idol, who tweeted what appears to be the release date for her new single and album Born This Way, along with this revealing photo.

“THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11,” said the pop superstar. Note that May 23 is actually a Monday and most albums are released on the traditional Tuesday in the U.S. She also included the lyrics to her single.

I’m beautiful in my way, ’cause God makes no mistakes, I’m on the right track baby, I was Born This Way.

Don’t hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you’re set. I’m on the right track baby, I was Born This Way.

Are you ready for more Gaga in 2011?
