JoJo Simmons, son of the legendary Rev Run and star of “Run’s House,” was arrested on Friday for weed possession.


According to TMZ, the Run-DMC frontman’s 19-year-old son was allegedly buying marijuana and rolling a joint while sitting in a car in New York City. He reportedly tried to get away by reversing his vehicle and nearly backed into a police officer’s car.

The younger Simmons, born Joseph Simmons Jr., was booked for resisting arrest, attempted reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

“I’m alright everybody!” JoJo wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday evening.

Earlier in the day, his sisters Angela and Vanessa Simmons were throwing out the first pitch at the Dodgers game in Los Angeles.

“As humans we all make mistakes. They make up your life lessons and experiences,” his eldest sister Vanessa tweeted. “JoJo is ok, he just made a[n] oops.”

The sixth season of MTV’s “Run’s House” is scheduled to premiere this summer.

Cassie’s shaved head makes its on-screen debut in “Must Be Love.” The Bad Boy singer shot a video for the song in Los Angeles on Friday with Diddy. There's also a cameo from Ms. BoomKat!

Kelly Rowland is currently in Europe promoting David Guetta's fantastic new single 'When Love Takes Over', which she features on. The 28 year old sat down, most recently, with MTV Lithuania to discuss the record, her new album, Destiny's Child and more.

Rihanna has been making a lot of appearances this week, but here’s one she didn’t plan on making. Nude photos of the 21-year-old singer leaked to the Internet on Friday.


The grainy images appear to be self-taken on a BlackBerry. They show the “Umbrella” hitmaker naked in a white hotel bedroom and bathroom. In one photo, she is seen looking at her reflection in a mirror with one nipple pierced. “I love you” and “I miss you” are written on the glass. She is grabbing her butt in another.

Didntinviteme.blogspot.com can confirm these pictures were taken at The London hotel in West Hollywood where Rihanna had stayed with Chris Brown. Her former boyfriend is also photographed with pink panties over his head.

This comes only a few days after photos of Cassie in her birthday suit surfaced online. Didntinviteme.blogspot.com will not be posting the images.

Bravo may have said auf wiedersehen to Project Runway but it returns to the world of fashion world with its latest offering, The Fashion Show

The concept: Young designers will compete to market and sell their own lines. But, in a twist, members of the studio audience vote each week, determining who will continue on in the competition. And the ultimate winner will be determined by home audiences after a live season finale.
“I think what makes The Fashion Show so unique is that it’s the people’s decision, and not only that but it’s a real show for real people,” Kelly Rowland, who cohosts the competition along with designer Isaac Mizrahi and Fern Mallis, says on a recent conference call. (Malis is the creator of New York Fashion Week and a familiar figure to Project Runway viewers.) “This is coming from the consumer’s point of view — what they like, how it fits, how creative it is.”
“The real truth is that no matter how fabulous any fashion show is, it doesn’t matter if people don’t wear and buy the clothes,” Mallis says.
Working with a cast of 15 up and coming designers on creating marketable and relatable designs was an eye-opener, and, at times, trying challenge for the judges.

“I learned a great deal from hearing what the public had to say about clothes,” Mizrahi says. “Sometimes Kelly, Fern and I would say, ‘Oh, this is going to be in the Top 2′ – and then we’d be shocked when it wasn’t.”
“One of the most difficult parts for me [is] when you’re standing in a room with designers who are clearly making mistakes and there’s nothing you’re allowed to say until the end,” Mizrahi continues.
“Yeah, he wanted to help them the whole time,” Rowland adds.
“And Kelly wanted to say, like, ‘I wouldn’t wear that on a bet,’” Mizrahi says. “Or ‘I love that.’ And she couldn’t.”
Each week, the designers will compete in a mini-challenge and then continue on to an elimination challenge which will feature a specific task –- and a guest judge. (Celebrity judges include designers Charlotte Ronson, Elie Tahari and Vivienne Tam.) Their designs will be then be judged by a studio audience following a runway show where someone will be eliminated.
“The whole live audience part of it, I feel like made it so dramatic,” Mizrahi says. “There was Kelly reading things to these contestants, like ‘60% of the audience thinks that your dress looks like the inside of a wig.’”
Adds Mizrahi: “The drama in the air — that was thick!”

Five months after boyfriend David Otunga proposed to Jennifer Hudson on her 27th birthday, she returned the gesture with a surprise of her own: a proposal on Otunga's birthday.

The Grammy-winning singer did it last month with style, presenting Otunga – a Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-pro-wrestler – with a personally designed Neil Lane engagement ring rocking out at 5 carats.

"Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her," says Lane, who worked with Hudson for months to design the ring. "It was very sentimental and romantic. ... They are really in love."

The handmade "architectural and geometric" platinum and diamond men's ring is "masculine, yet has a lot of sparkle," says Lane, who also designed the engagement ring Otunga gave Hudson last fall. "Jennifer and I went through lots of different designs, talked about it a lot and she was very open."

The only hitch was that neither Hudson or Lane knew Otunga's ring size, and when Hudson gave it to her fiancé last month, it was too big. So last weekend, in town for Hudson's tour dates, Otunga, 29, and Hudson went to Lane's L.A. store getting it resized. "They were so lovey-dovey and so sweet to each other," the jeweler tells PEOPLE. "He was very protective of her and they were so in love."

Hudson has been mum on the date of the nuptials, but has said that she plans to include her three dogs in the ceremony, perhaps using one as a ring bearer.

In reality tv news, Tila Tequila is confirming the rumors that Ray-J is her new man. On Tila’s Myspace page she posted:

Something about all this seems off…and it doesn’t help that she removed the blog posting today. Ray-J recently told Big Boy’s Neighborhood that he and Tila are just “cool” and seemed uncomfortable about the whole situation.

After a rather tumultuous few years, Pop icon Janet Jackson is prepping a return to the music scene with the help of original collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. According to sources working close to the as-yet-untitled project, Jackson has been in the lab for the last month and a half with the production duo, who have been the creative forces behind her biggest hits. With Jackson no longer with Def Jam, it is currently unknown which label the record will be released on.

Speaking to MTV recently, The INC owner Irv Gotti has controversially gone on record to publicly reveal that he is dropping Ashanti from the label - her recording home for 8 years:

Irv Gotti says he and Ashanti, the Princess of the Inc., will soon be parting company. He said they haven't been on speaking terms for some time, and the label head/reality-TV star says there's nothing he can do but end their musical and business affiliation.

"The relationship has run its course," Gotti explained earlier this week while visiting the MTV offices. "The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up."

Ashanti's last LP, The Declaration — her first in four years — came out in June of last year on the Inc. and was created with virtually no input from Gotti. The album was her first in-studio project not to go platinum. Gotti says it's because the singer deviated from their winning formula and tag-team effort.

"I personally believe for her to be successful, it took the energy ... when you seen her, it was 30 n---as around her, and she's the princess so nice and pretty walking through," he said. "The music was great, but it was the energy that was created. It wasn't just her standing there and singing a song.

"We don't really speak or talk or anything like that," he continued. "It's sad in a way. But in another, it's like it's all good."

Well, maybe not that good. Gotti said it is best for them to part ways.

"I don't think she can win. She needs some guidance with that," Gotti added. "But she's not thinking like that. Really, I couldn't tell you what she's thinking. So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I'm gonna just drop her."

At press time, a rep for Ashanti had not granted MTV News' requests for comment.

Gotti told MTV News that he's maintained the rights to all of his artists, including Ashanti, Lloyd and of course Ja Rule. The exec says he's working on a deal to reunite with his fellow Def Jam alumni Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles and Julie Greenwald over at the Warner Music Group. He says new albums by Lloyd, new rapper Newz and Rule are in the cooker. He explains the delay of Rule's The Mirror is because they are trying to craft a classic LP.

Lil’ Kim almost gave Regis Philbin a heart attack when she appeared on “Live with Regis and Kelly” on Wednesday. The 77-year-old talk-show host had been an avid supporter of the Queen Bee when she was on “Dancing with the Stars.”


“My Lil’ Kim!” said Regis upon seeing the latest “DWTS” castoff. “My Regis!” Kim responded while giving him a hug. “Come to me, Regis.”

“We’re both outraged about what happened to you guys,” Regis said, while his co-host stood nearby. “How does this happen?”

“I told ['DWTS' judge Len Goodman] on camera, ‘Stay away from Lil’ Kim!’” exclaimed Regis, to which Kim replied, “That’s right. ’Cause you’re my man.”

“It would be the thrill of my life if I could have a dance with you,” Regis said as Kim gave him a dance he wouldn’t soon forget.

The Black Eyed Peas made a stop at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday to perform “Boom Boom Pow” and “Let’s Get It Started.” We’re going to be sick of seeing them soon.

Cassie confirmed the authenticity of the leaked photos through her Twitter page. “IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE HAS HACKED INTO MY COMPUTER…THAT’S REAL FOUL AND EVIL,” she wrote in all caps. “NOW STOP ACTING LIKE YOU HAVEN’T SEEN A TITTY BEFORE.”

Fabolous was among those who tweeted about the pics. “Ok my twiggas, ur dreams have been fulfilled,” he said. “We hav[e] topless pics of Cassie.”

The 22-year-old star is scheduled to shoot a video for “Must Be Love” with Diddy in Los Angeles this Friday.

It’s time for the jump off. Lil’ Kim became the latest contestant eliminated from ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” on Tuesday.


“I think this is one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever experienced in my life,” a teary-eyed Kim said to a standing crowd. “I think I brought different viewers [to the show]. I know people who’ve never watched the show and they watch the show [now].”

Even the program’s co-host Tom Bergeron was shocked by the news. “There was a real shock in this room that I announced [your] name… I loved watching you dance.”

Derek Hough expressed his admiration for his dance partner over the last nine weeks. “I love this girl so much and she has been one of my favorites by far,” he gushed. “She is the most amazing person, amazing soul, amazing spirit, and of course, amazing dancer and I love you so much.”

“Will you please grace us with your bionic booty one more time?” Bergeron asked as Hough spun his partner one final time on the dancefloor.

The Queen Bee was one-week shy of making the semi-finals. She came into the results show with the week’s second lowest score: 52 points out of 60.

The Black Eyed Peas visited “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday where they performed “Boom Boom Pow” and “Pump It.” The group wrapped a video for The E.N.D.’s second single last month.

Keyshia Cole and Monica duet under the Tuscan sun in the video for “Trust,” the third single off the Oakland native’s album A Different Me. Keyshia is already at work on her next album, due for release in December.
