A Good Look: La Toya Jackson Scene Restored on Brüno DVD
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 2:07 PM
Wunderbar!
Brüno, the preening, Austrian celebrity wannabe created by Sacha Baron Cohen, finally gets to meet singer La Toya Jackson when Brüno is released on DVD on Nov. 17.
After the sudden death of Michael Jackson, a scene in which Cohen, disguised as the flamboyant Brüno, conducts an outrageous interview with an unsuspecting La Toya was hastily cut from the film. The scene, removed before the theatrical release, earlier had been viewed by critics and test audiences.
In the 90-second comic scene, now included as an extra on the Brüno DVD, La Toya, 53, arrives at a hilltop house in Los Angeles to be interviewed by Brüno, an alleged Austrian TV infotainment star. She fails to recognize Cohen, the British-born star of Borat, beneath his disguise and heavy accent.
Cohen welcomes her into a room devoid of furniture, having her to sit on the back of a near-naked Hispanic laborer, who is kneeling on the floor on all fours. La Toya perches awkwardly and giggles, "It's like being on a horse, isn't it?" She then joins her host in delicately chop sticking sushi off the stomach of a second, also near-naked man, who has been wheeled into the room lying on a gurney.
It is only when Cohen borrows La Toya's cell phone, combs through it looking for Michael's phone number and then yells the number out in faux German for an assistant to jot down that La Toya halts the interview and storms out. As her car drives away, Cohen yells plaintively, "La Toya, come back. Can you at least get me Jermaine?"

Nine months after she was assaulted by Chris Brown, Rihanna finally opens up about the night that left her bruised and bloody.
"This happened to me. ... It can happen to anyone," the singer, 21, tells Diane Sawyer in an interview airing Thursday on Good Morning America and on 20/20 on Friday.
Rihanna says it was particularly difficult because of the special place Brown held in her heart: "He was definitely my first big love."
Both singers have worked to move on. Brown is serving a community labor sentence in Virginia and working on new music for an album titled Graffiti that will drop Dec. 15. Rihanna is shaking things up with her edgy fashion and releasing her fourth album, Rated R, on Nov. 23. The album's first single "Russian Roulette" debuted last week.

New mom Jennifer Hudson just welcomed her first child, son David, to the world, but she's already talking about No. 2 and No. 3 – and next time, she'd like a girl.
"Maybe one more. I'd like to have at least one more, a little girl," Hudson, 27, tells Access Hollywood in an interview to be aired Wednesday night. "I want a girl and then maybe another one. You know, one baby at a time."
As for what town David will call home, there's no question for the native of the Windy City.
"Chicago would definitely be it because that is where all the family is," she says. "I feel like he should be surrounded by family. That's where the biggest support system is and if we live somewhere else, then we will have to bring the family wherever we are."
Chicago, of course, was also the scene of Hudson's family tragedy, which took the lives of her mother, brother and nephew. The Grammy-winning singer says she still feels her mother's presence every day.
"Yeah, definitely. Wherever, wherever," she says. "Every day, I'm like. Wow I didn't realize I am so much like my mother until now, so yeah."

Don’t expect to see Beanie Sigel throwing up the diamond again. The former Roc-A-Fella artist appears to have found a new home at 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records.
50 announced the news during an interview with Philadelphia’s Power 99 on Tuesday (Nov. 3). “Beans is coming to G-Unit,” he said.
The G-Unit captain tried to sign Beans earlier, but claims Jay-Z wouldn’t allow it. “Beans was the better artist, the stronger artist. That’s why when he did the year and a day, I was like, ‘Yo, as soon as he come home, I’d bring that project over here.’ He would’ve got at least $800,000. … Jay was telling him he didn’t want to lose him,” Fif told radio personality Jonesy.
Last week, the Philly MC dissed his former boss in a freestyle called “What You Talkin’ Bout (I Ain’t Your Average Cat),” rapping, “How it feel to get exposed?/ Don’t you feel naked?/ I was a fly on the wall, shit I witnessed/ I can say shit that will make B[eyoncé] look at you different.”
Jay responded at a press conference saying, “Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label, and a clothing line—and never went platinum, ever. I don’t know in the history of rap has anyone done so much with so little.”
Beanie Sigel’s last album, 2007’s The Solution, was released through Roc-A-Fella and peaked at No. 37 on the Billboard 200.

Armed with a spray can, Chris Brown tags in outer space on the cover of his third album Graffiti, dropping December 15. The partially animated cover blends the pop star’s passions for music, fashion, and art.
Chris Brown crawls across the desert and the city to reach his love interest, played by Cassie, in the video for “Crawl,” directed by Joseph Kahn (“I Can Transform Ya”). The second single from December 15th’s Graffiti was co-written by Brown and produced by Adam Messinger and Nasri Atweh.
“It’s probably his most personal thing he’s ever done,” Kahn told MTV News of the video. “I mean, everything that’s happened to him in the year, I think this is going to be his big statement, in terms of what he’s feeling and what he’s living through right now.”
