Over 350 fans turned out to Nordstrom at the Grove in L.A. this Saturday to get a first-hand look at Fergie’s new footwear line. And while the style maven sipped iced tea and signed autographs for waiting fans, she dished with PEOPLE.com about her recessionista-friendly line, priced between $69-$129. The expansive collection — aptly named Fergie — includes everything from signature zip-up gladiator heels to chic flats to strappy sandals adorned with peace signs and sneakers emblazoned with the singer’s initials. “I would feel really irresponsible right now to have a line that was completely out of my fans’ price range, so I feel really good about it,” she said. And inspiration behind the collection came right out of the newlywed’s real-life experience, with husband Josh Duhamel having an unexpected influence on his wife’s favorite pair from the collection, the “Pepper” gladiator platforms. “You know I’m 5′4″,” she explains, “So these are for girls like me who want a little height — especially being that my husband is almost 6′4″!”

But it wasn’t just footwear that was on Fergie’s mind. The former blonde explained the decision to go brunette. “It’s kind of a new era for me. I’m married, new Black Eyed Peas [album], getting back with them. I’m in a new place in my life and just evolving, and I wanted a change. And I’m not scared of change at all.” So comes the age-old question, do blondes really have more fun? Apparently not, according to Fergie. “I’m really having fun with it,” she said. Another major upside to the darker do? Getting to wear pink again. “It’s just funny because I didn’t want to look like a complete Barbie doll before, but now it has no relevance,” she says of reintroducing the rosy shade into her wardrobe

Family and friends of Natasha Richardson said their final goodbye to the star of stage and film during a funeral at St. Peter's Church in Millbrook, N.Y., on Sunday.

Under bright sun on a cold spring day, Richardson's husband Liam Neeson, their sons, Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, her mother Vanessa Redgrave, her sister Joely Richardson and friends Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes and Mia Farrow arrived at St. Peter's Church at 2:30 p.m.

Neeson, looking somber in a dark suit and sunglasses, briefly posed for photographers with his family before walking to the hearse, where he was the first to put his hand on the mahogany casket, which he and six other pallbearers carried to the church.

The ceremony lasted a little more than an hour. As the funeral ended, the sky became overcast. Neeson and the family drove to a nearby cemetery, where the burial took place under a large green tent. There, a grieving Vanessa Redgrave gave a thumbs-up to the fans and reporters who had gathered.

Richardson was laid to rest in the same cemetery where her grandmother Rachel Redgrave, the mother of Vanessa Redgrave, and better known by her stage name Rachel Kempson, is buried. The two plots face each other.

After the burial service, Neeson joined Vanessa on a short walk to Rachel's grave, where they paid their respects to the Redgrave family matriarch. Lynn followed afterwards.

At 4:45 p.m., Neeson left the cemetery after his final goodbye.

Neeson shared a home nearby with his late wife, who died after a ski accident that resulted in severe brain trauma.

Nicole Richie’s first collection for her jewelry line House of Harlow 1960 was such a success that the line sold out of inventory through pre-order on shopkitson.com before Richie could get her line in stores. “I’m so surprised and so blessed,” Richie told PEOPLE at a March 7th signing at Kitson. “This has been a dream of mine for so long.” Nicole donned over 20 pieces of the line (which she co-designed with jeweler Pascal Mouawad) at the event, in keeping with her accessory philosophy that more is more. “I stack everything,” she says. “I layer my jewelry.” She admits her zeal may be related to eschewing jewelry around daughter Harlow, 1. “Everything just goes in her mouth,” Richie laughs. “In the daytime, heels and jewels are out!” Her favorite item in the line? The starburst necklace. “In the back, there’s a little star. I thought it was a nice touch to have that instead of the typical clasp, and I wanted to give people the option to have a bigger piece and a smaller piece in the necklace.” So, what’s next? “I’m focusing on my brand right now. There will be a maternity line, a clothing line, shoes, belts, everything!” And, of course, a sibling for baby Harlow. “I feel great, I’m working a lot, I have great friends, and a great family,” Richie says. “All of my dreams are coming true.” Shop House of Harlow 1960, with prices starting at $12!, at shopkitson.com.

After years of flack from the African American community, in 2006, the Disney company saw fit to finally include an African American princess in its pantheon of animated royals – which in the past had representation from every other racial and ethnic group (Jasmine, Pocahontas, Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, etc.)

In December of this year, the company is set to release 'The Princess and the Frog,' set in New Orleans and featuring Princess Tiana, voiced by actress Anika Noni Rose. Oprah Winfrey is voicing Eudora, Tiana's mother.

Oddly enough, though, Princess Tiana is black; her prince is not. That's right – even though there is a real-life black man in the highest office in the land with a black wife, Disney obviously doesn't think a black man is worthy of the title of prince. I guess Sasha and Malia and all the other little black girls out there should just shut up and be thankful to have something! Little black boys will have to wait another 20 years.

Prince Naveen of Maldonia is voiced by a Brazilian actor, and his skin is ... tan. His hair and features are decidedly non-black. This has left many in the community shaking their head in befuddlement and even rage.

It's not like Disney isn't used to the controversy. Over the years, it has offended blacks, Jews, women's groups and some shade of everyone else. Appropriately, controversy has dogged the 'The Princess' since its inception. Originally, the black princess was named Maddy, a maid working for a white family set in 1920s New Orleans.

Both the name (which sounds eerily close to Mammy) and position made many take pause, so Maddy became Tiana, a more African American name. Even choosing New Orleans with its history of slavery and voodoo had some in an uproar. That toothless firefly that sounds like a slave (see video) isn't likely to convert many fans either.

Some, including Rose, think it's all good: "It's great and wonderful, and bigger even is being the first American princess," the Tony Award-winner told Black Voices. "They have chosen to give the world an American princess who looks like me. I really can't think of anything else that would be more exciting," she added.

I'm sure folks could come up with a couple.

The First Lady may be all gung-ho about what she's calling her new White House Kitchen Garden, but her daughters are worried the venture will get them stung.

"We're going to have a beehive," Michelle Obama announced Friday to "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from Washington-area school children wielding shovels and rakes and hoes to help with the garden groundbreaking. "I'm glad you're excited, but because my kids aren't very excited about the beehive. But we're going to try to make our own honey."

The First Lady and assistant White House chef Sam Kass, who cooked for the Obamas in Chicago, have begun work on an organic fruit and vegetable garden on the White House's South Lawn – the first such planting since Eleanor Roosevelt installed a victory garden during World War II.

In leggings and flat black boots, Mrs. Obama turned soil with a shovel and pitchfork, saying plants will go in the ground – mint, lettuces, berries and perennial herbs – in the next several weeks, with the harvest to be used in both the White House kitchen and a nearby soup kitchen.

The First Lady hopes the farming will get her daughters, Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, more interested in eating vegetables. "With my kids, especially if they were involved in planting it and picking it, they were much more curious about giving it a try."

Britney Spears and ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib won't be getting back together anytime soon.

The paparazzo, 36, is forbidden from communicating with the singer, 27, or getting within 100 yards of her for the next three years, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb ruled Wednesday.

The orders also prevent Ghalib from contacting Spears directly or indirectly through phone, mail or e-mail, as well as forbid him to claim that he represents her interests. Others protected by the order include Spears's parents, siblings and her children.

The singer's father, Jamie Spears, who requested the order in January, has accused Ghalib and ex-manager Sam Lutfi of trying to disrupt his daughter's life. Before Jamie gained legal control over Britney, the pop star was hospitalized twice.

Ghalib is also facing felony charges for allegedly trying to run over a process server.

After performing songs from the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday’s show, 31 million votes were counted and the surprising results were announced on American Idol Wednesday. Find out who, if anyone, was sent home — or if the judges used the new Judges’ Save rule, giving the person with the fewest votes another chance.
Ryan started off the hour saying the voting results from country night were a shocker.
And they were: Favorite Alexis Grace, 21, wound up being the contestant destined to go home, thanks no doubt to an uncharacteristically strident performance of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” on Tuesday.

Because of the newly instituted Judges’ Save rule — and because the Mighty Four have always liked her so much — Alexis was permitted to sing an encore as Randy, Simon, Paula and Kara huddled together and discussed her fate.
But this is the problem with the new rule: Alexis hadn’t come to the theater with a whole new arrangement or interpretation, and under the gun she seemed even more histrionic.

How bittersweet that the song’s lyrics include: “My happiness depends on you/And whatever you decide to do … ” The judges said she was good — but not good enough.

The other singer with Alexis in the bottom two was Michael Sarver, 27, who at the start of the hour almost cried when he talked about missing his little daughter. But now he’s in the top 10 — even though Simon implied that the judges would NOT have asked him to perform again if he were the one facing elimination — and will get to go on this summer’s Idols Live tour.
Perhaps the more serious disappointment was the fact that rounding out the bottom three was none other than the immensely talented Allison Iraheta, 16. She’s arguably the best natural singer in the whole competition but her surprisingly outsized voice and even her magenta hair may count against her tender years. People may regard her as more of a phenomenon than a talent.
She may have to rethink her act.

Tell us: Are you sad to see Alexis go? Did America make the right decision? Who should have gone home instead of Alexis?
