The wait is over. Whitney Houston’s new album finally has a release date.
According to a press release from Arista Records on Thursday (June 4), Houston will make her official comeback with her seventh studio album, set for a worldwide release on Sept. 1. This is her first studio album in six years.
She is working with R. Kelly, Diane Warren (“I Didn’t Know My Own Strength”), David Foster, Swizz Beatz, and Akon, among others.
Swizz Beatz revealed to Rap-Up.com that he has recorded an uptempo song called “Mill Dollar Baby” with the diva. “I got a big comeback record for her,” he said. “She’s comin’ back crazy!”
Akon also logged studio time with the 45-year-old superstar. “I did two songs with her. As you can see, after that song leaked, they pulled that back,” Akon told Rap-Up.com of the leaked track “Like I Never Left.” “That was officially supposed to be a single for her as well.”
Houston has sold over 170 million albums, singles, and videos worldwide. She is cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as music’s “most awarded female artist of all time,” with a total of 411 awards, including six Grammys, two Emmys, 23 American Music Awards, and 16 Billboard Music Awards.

Britney Spears' Sons Dance to Toxic (Part 1) from Britney Spears on Vimeo.
Move over Cruz Beckham, there're some new dancing tots in town.
Following in mommy Britney Spears and daddy Kevin Federline's footsteps (excuse the pun), Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, put on a show of their own during rehearsal for Spears's "Circus" show in London Tuesday. Inside the ring, and using hula-hoops as props, the two had their own routine for mommy's hit, "Toxic."
We're wondering whom they inherited their dance moves from? Their pop star mama or back-up dancing papa?

Rapper Corey Miller aka C-Murder plead no contest to charges of second degree murder. C-Murder was charged after a 16 year old died during a fight in a nightclub in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2002.
He was given a life sentence after being convicted in 2003, but luckily for the rapper, it was overturned in 2006 after spending three years in the slammer.
C-Murder was granted a new trial based on claims prosecutors withheld information on three witnesses. The rapper was placed on house arrest until the retrial which was scheduled for this week.
However, he made a plea deal with the prosecutors and pleaded no contest to two counts of attempted murder.
So C-Murder will now serve 10 years in prison instead of life.
Wow... C-Murder has been fighting this for 8 years? And they have video footage of him doing it????

Sade Adu, the reclusive "quiet storm" soul signer who takes notoriously long breaks between releases, has regrouped with the band that bears her name and is recording her first album of new material since 2000's "Lovers Rock," Billboard.com sources confirm. The group is in the studio through June and Sony hopes to put the record out by the end of 2009 though, despite rumors, there is no set release date on the calendar.
"She is in the studio and the album will come when it is ready," a source at Sony tells Billboard. "You don't wait for years for one and then rush it."
Sade's longtime bandmate Stuart Matthewman, a.k.a. Cottonbelly, also confirms that new material is in progress, though he says the project is still in its "early days" and won't be close to finished until "later in the year."
Last week, rumors of a new Sade album surfaced when the official-looking website sade2009.com went live with a message claiming a release date of November 24, 2009 for a new album. However, the source at Sade's label denies any connection to that site. "We do not know where that fan site could have got that release date from, but it is 100% not true." Billboard contacted the site's owner and web developer, who insisted that the release date was "official;" since his response, however, the site's posting has been updated with a correction: "The date above has been changed, a representative from Sony confirmed the new date to be unknown. Please check back for the update on Sade's album release."
Though no details about Sade's new music have yet been revealed, one artist may have already heard snippets: Maxwell, a fellow Sony recording artist and longtime friend and collaborator with Matthewman, who will soon release a new record of his own ("BLACKsummer'snight," July 7) after a multi-year hiatus. The R&B singer sent a message to fans in March via his private Facebook page in which he indicated that he'd heard some of his labelmate's new recordings. "Trust me, it's so monolithic it'll shake you in your shoes!" he wrote.
Sade's 2000 release, "Lovers Rock," sold 3,881,000 copies in the U.S. and the prior album, 1992's "Love Deluxe," sold 3,407,000. Since 1985's "Diamond Life" debut, Sade has sold nearly 17 million units in the U.S. alone according to Nielsen SoundScan.

According to MTV, Mariah Carey's forthcoming LP 'Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel' is set to hit shop shelves on September 16th.
As with all Mariah releases, I'm sure a big promo campaign will accompany the album. However I'm hoping her vocal rest and room humidifiers have helped repair her voice, because I want Mimi's voice to be like "Someday"/"Vision of Love" Mariah.

Omarion is officially a Young Money Millionaire. The R&B singer has signed a new deal with Lil Wayne’s imprint.
The Big O will join Drake, Tyga, and Nicki Minaj on the label Wayne built. “I’m excited ’cause I was with Sony, but I got released. I asked for a release,” he revealed to BBC 1Xtra’s Ace & Vis. “I’m with a new situation. I’m with Young Money/Cash Money. I’m Wayne’s artist.”
The “Ice Box” hitmaker felt like he didn’t have artistic freedom in his previous relationship. “Coming up in the game since I was 14, I would never say I had creative control,” he divulged. “I always had an influence of what they thought I should be. I felt like as an artist I wasn’t able to always project who I really am.”
Omarion feels right at home on Young Money. “I feel comfortable. Wayne respected who I wanted to be as an artist. No record company can do what Wayne is gonna do.”
There was earlier speculation that O had signed to Timbaland’s label, Mosley Music Group. Omarion is currently working on his third solo album. He collaborated with Weezy on the leaked track “Comfort.”

When not making blockbusters, Johnny Depp likes to relax far from Hollywood – around his 45-acre private Bahamian island, Little Hall's Pond Cay, to be exact.
As experienced from aboard his 156-ft. yacht, the Vajoliroja, an amalgam of the names of his children, himself, and partner Vanessa Paradis, "I don’t think I'd ever seen any place so pure and beautiful," the Public Enemies star, 45, tells Vanity Fair for its July issue, on sale nationally June 9.
The Pond Cay life, he says, "is my decompression. It's my way of trying to return to normalcy," he says. "Escapism is survival to me."
On the island itself, one can snorkel among barracudas and neon-colored fish, and nurse sharks in what Depp has named Heath's Place, after Heath Ledger.
"You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It's instant freedom. And that rare beast – simplicity – can be had. And a little morsel of anonymity," he says.
"Whenever I was getting frustrated about being 'novelty boy' and making movies, I told myself, Calm down. I can come down here and disappear. I spent the Christmas season here with Vanessa and the kids. You can feed hot dogs to the nurse sharks in the Exumas [the out islands of the Bahamas] – but it's best to not swim when doing it."
Owning one's own island also affords its special privileges, and Pond Cay allows Depp to indulge in his hobbies, which include reading, playing guitar and painting. Quoting an old adage, he admits, "Money doesn't buy you happiness. But it buys you a big enough yacht to sail right up to it."

Pink and her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, are rebuilding their marriage – partly by spending some quality time together in Australia.
The married duo – who separated last year but recently reunited – coordinated their work schedules during the singer's current 14-week Aussie tour. Hart will also perform in many of the same cities as his wife, according to The Daily Telegraph.
"It took us seven years to work it out," Pink told the newspaper Down Under. "We got married and I went on the road for two years. That's about as long as we were married. It's definitely hard."
The couple have recently begun "dating" again after going through "a rough year," says Pink. "There's something about me and Carey. Our lives don't make sense unless we have each other to piss off," she says. "It's kinda perfect."
But they won't get remarried, she says, because they were never divorced!
"We hate paperwork," she jokes.

Taylor Swift and her father obviously have a very sweet relationship. "I have an excellent father/his strength is making me stronger," she sings on "The Best Day," from her sophomore album Fearless. But dear old dad definitely knows how to make his daughter a little red in the face.
"My dad is along the ride for this trip," blogs the singer, who is currently on tour, on her MySpace page. "He's a social butterfly, and loves being on tour. He loves it so much, he thinks it's absolutely hilarious to embarrass me as much as possible."
"For example," says Swift, 19, "[I'm] walking into the hotel lobby after returning from dinner. It's a quiet, serene, beautiful when … Screaming voice from out of nowhere: 'HEY! THAT'S TAYLOR SWIFT!!' Me: 'Dad. Please stop doing that.' "
But Swift is a good sport. "It's pretty priceless having my dad out here with me," she insists.
In addition to tipping her hat to her old man, Swift blogs about her upcoming Dateline NBC special, due to air in the coming weeks. "I learned how to make a smoothie. It's very ground-breaking footage," she declares.

inning actress Jennifer Hudson can add mom-to-be to her resume after a weekend baby shower in her honor was held in downtown Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of the Hudson, confirmed to the paper that the event happened on Saturday.
"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," Fields, also a singer and actress, said of a gathering in a relative's home. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."
She added: "It was a nice time that we had."
When asked if Hudson received blue or pink gifts, Fields said, "They don't know [the gender]. More yellow."
Another paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Hudson is seven months along.
A rep for Hudson had no comment.
Hudson, 27, who is engaged to Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga, has also kept mum about her upcoming wedding date.

While others may hold their tongues in the presence of greatness, Pink is making her thoughts about Kanye West perfectly clear.
The fur reportedly flew when Pink attended Stella McCartney’s Paris fashion show with the vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and Kanye. “The entire time Kanye is going, ‘They need more fur in this show,’” Pink told Britain’s The Sun. “He just wouldn’t shut up about how he loved fur. I mean, he’s saying this to me, the PETA guy, and Paul McCartney!”
The “So What” singer is an avid PETA supporter and didn’t hold back her feelings about the fashionable rapper. “Kanye West is the person pissing me off right now,” she said. “I was just so grossed out by him. I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot!’ There are so many people who I think are a waste of skin and he’s up there. I should wear him.”
Pink’s advice for Mr. West? “Go on, donate yourself Kanye. People can wear your fur.”

The flamboyantly gay character Bruno, better known as Sacha Baron Cohen of Borat fame, pulled the stunt of all stunts by descending from the ceiling and landing bare-assed on Eminem at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.
After the incident, a fight broke out, curse words were exchanged, and Eminem stormed out. But no acting could lead us to believe that was not staged.
