Even though it's a bummer, the songstress really just didn't want to disappoint fans by putting on a mediocre show. "The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and less than a month between album release and tour date, this wasn't possible," said her spokeswoman.

Well, we say poor planning in the first place, but oh well. The tour was set to kick off July 15, and Bionic drops June 8. Stay tuned for dates for the 2011 tour, you know, if your calendar isn't already filled up.

The widower of actress Brittany Murphy was found dead at his California home just five months after his wife died.

British screenwriter Simon Monjack was found dead Sunday night in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Monjack, 39, was pronounced dead after the Los Angeles Fire Department was called there for a medical emergency, according to police.
His cause of death was not immediately known.

Murphy, 32, died in December from a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication, a coroner said. The drugs involved were legal and used to treat a respiratory infection, according to an autopsy.

The often bubbly, free-spirited actress appeared in films such as "Clueless," "8 Mile," "Don't Say a Word" and "Girl, Interrupted."

She also lent her voice to animated works, including the movie "Happy Feet" -- in which she also sang -- and a regular role on the animated TV series "King of the Hill."

The couple had no children.

Nicole Scherzinger joined her new groupmates for their first performance together as the new Pussycat Dolls at a private event in Los Angeles on Friday night (May 21). “I am so thankful for everything the Pussycat Dolls has brought into my life,” Kimberly said in an interview. “I love being a Doll, but as far as the variables off-stage are concerned—I just couldn’t do it anymore.”

While serving as a panelist at the Essence Magazine/Johnson's Baby Oil-sponsored 'What's Your Beauty Secret?' luncheon in New York City today, entrepreneur-turned-reality star Lisa Wu-Hartwell spilled the beans to the BV Newswire about what viewers can expect for the upcoming third season of Bravo's most popular show.
"We start in two weeks and there's been a little bit of drama already," she confessed.
By drama, the Closet Freak fashion designer is referring to her recent Twitter beef with her cast mate and friend Nene Leakes.
On March 18, Leakes headed to Twitter to voice her disdain with "haters."
"Everybody showing love but I gotta thank the haters because without u, I wouldn't have the publicity so keep up the good work fool," the former stripper and 'Never Make The Same Mistake Twice' author wrote.
"I love chicks that will throw a rock and then hide their hand. Miss wanna be perfect. Oh please," Leakes added.

With there already being some confusion between the ladies about an event appearance, Wu-Hartwell took offense to the tweets and replied directly to her friend, asking if the comments were directed at her.

"I was the coolest with Nene, just a couple of weeks ago, but maybe we aren't close anymore," she confided.

"I care about Nene and we butt heads sometimes, but I was closest to Nene ... [so] I will hold off," the 38-year-old mother of three said, cutting herself off before she over-shared her frustration.

"It was like that last year, before we started taping, I had drama with  Kim [Zolciak}. I'm like, 'Are you kidding me? We haven't even started,'"s she said.

And speaking of Zolciak, Wu-Hartwell also had a lot to say about the 'Tardy for the Party' singer's highly publicized "bisexual" status.

"Come on," she laughed. "[Kim will do] anything for attention."

"Come on, you're not gay! I have two gay brothers, come on girl, make up your mind," she added.

Zolciak, who recently told Life & Style magazine that she's serious about her girlfriend DJ Tracy Young, is one of the show's most popular characters.

"She is fun TV," Wu-Hartwell admitted. "She's great TV, she really is. They really cast that one."

Today, she was the first to confirm that Zolciak and Leakes, who had been rumored to be holding out on participating in the new season for more money, will be back for a third go round.

"They are all back [and] we are getting another housewife. So, we will see her thrown in the mix."

Though multiple NAACP Image Award-winning soap star  Victoria Rowell and the older, ex-wife of the R&B singer Usher Raymond, IV, was rumored to join the cast, Wu-Hartwell says the two front-runners are not actresses or an athlete wife, like herself.

"I don't know which one got it," the former wife of R&B crooner Keith Sweat said, adding, "there are two girls they were looking at. One was a model and one was a feisty attorney and they are just going to show up and we are just going to interact."

The "feisty attorney" could be entertainment attorneyPhaedra Parks, who repped Bobby Brown andJermaine Dupri.

A former associate of one of the cast members is blabbing that Parks, who was a producer for BET's 'Tiny & Toya' series, has been chosen.

Parks has not confirmed the unconfirmed report.

In the meantime, Wu Hartwell, who recently appeared on Tyler Perry's 'Meet the Browns' TV show, plans to focus on acting and has landed a role in an upcoming martial arts film, which begins shooting in June.

Terrence Howard had been hiding a secret since January, and finally fessed up while in Cannes for the famed film festival this week: He's married! The 41-year-old actor secretly got hitched to commercial production worker Michelle Ghent-Howard, 33, at a small wedding  in LA, and kept it under wraps quite well.

Costume designer Patricia Field must have had a field day with this movie. And if this the final installment of SATC, it might as well go out with a massive, glittery bang. The fashion budget is reported to have been about $10 million.

U2 frontman Bono has been hospitalized after having surgery, the band said in a message posted online Friday.

"Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training," reads the message on U2.com. "He was admitted to a specialist neurosurgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate."

It's unclear how the band’s tour will be affected by Bono's injury. "Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates," says the message. 


U2 is scheduled to perform in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 3 as part of their 360 Tour, then continue performing in North American before heading back to Europe in August for more shows. 

It’s no secret that the producers of American Idol like to keep the names of performers on finale night under wraps.

But two things are certain — Crystal Bowersox or Lee DeWyze will be crowned the season 9 champ on Wednesday, and fans will see the last of Simon Cowell before he jumps over to X Factor in 2011.
But a source tells PEOPLE that a special send-off planned for the cranky judge will feature some Idol alums, including a special appearance by Paula Abdul.

And among the superstars taking the stage? Watch for a great performance by Christina Aguilera.

Poet Maya Angelou celebrated a belated 82nd birthday Thursday with a few celebrity friends and a few choice words about political divisiveness in the United States.

Singers Naomi Judd and Martina McBride sang "Happy Birthday to You" to Angelou, who sat at a table in her newly refurbished backyard garden, while hip-hop artist and actor Common improvised a song to honor her.

"I have an attitude of gratitude. Nobody promised me this day," Angelou said in an interview with The Associated Press, explaining how she keeps writing.

Despite her generally upbeat attitude, Angelou said she finds the state of national politics to be tragic.

"I mean, this is our country," said Angelou, whose birthday was April 4. "This is a country of Republicans, of Democrats and of independents. And we are going to work together to make it better. Or we will not. And we will make it worse. And that's dumb."

She declined say whether she blamed racism because President Obama is black or whom she blames for the problems: "I can't deal with it. Some of it is blithering ignorance. We look stupid in the world's eyes. ... It polarizes us more, and I'm not that. I don't do that."

Most of the day focused on the friends and family who gathered to honor Angelou, who wore a pink pantsuit, a printed top and a mauve hat, along with fuzzy socks that helped her walk. A tent with yellow and white drapes covered the tables where about 100 guests ate while Common and McBride told the crowd what Angelou meant to them.

Common said he first discovered Angelou's poetry in the fifth grade on the South Side of Chicago, when her poem "Still I Rise" touched his soul.

"It was always something that I could reference to at times when I was feeling down or doubting myself," he told AP. "I just thought of that phrase, 'Still I Rise.' And it still resonates with me."

While others waxed poetic about Angelou and her affect on them, Lee Daniels, the Oscar-nominated director of "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Lee Sapphire," kept his words simple.

"She inspires me to tell the truth," he said. "Her voice can't be any more powerful. And she inspires me to do better work, to dig deeper in my soul and do better work."

Angelou's next effort, to be published later this year, is a cook book titled "Great Food All Day Long."
The recipes are based on the idea of eating small amounts of food during the day, a way of eating that she said helped her lose 40 pounds over the last two years.

Two of entertainment’s most powerful couples, Jay-Z and Beyoncé and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, celebrated the 11 Tony Award nominations for “Fela!” at a post-theater reception at The Palm West in New York City on Thursday night (May 20).
