Rapper and entrepreneur Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter recieves his Global Leadership Award from US Ambassador to the United Nations Zalmay Khalilzad at the 2008 Global Leadership Awards gala at the Waldorf-Astoria on October 1, 2008 in New York City. Carter received the award for his visionary leadership of "Water for Life" and his partnership with the United Nations
