Day26 On Diddy's Move

Diddy announced on Twitter today that he has officially left Warner Music Group and signed a new deal with Interscope Geffen A&M, leaving behind his Bad Boy roster and catalog. But while the move is good news for Puff, what does it mean for his group Day26?

Willie Taylor, one-fifth of Day26, spoke to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “The business of it is still getting taken care of as we speak,” he revealed. “We’re just trying to figure it out. Once the paperwork is done, then we’ll know.”

One thing’s for certain, the R&B quintet will remain at Atlantic Records. “It might be Bad Boy/Atlantic, it might just be Atlantic. Right now, it’s up in the air. We know we not gonna be Bad Boy/Interscope though. That’s not even part of the situation.”

Diddy called the “Making the Band” stars to personally deliver the news. “He called us and let us know everything that was going on, the move he was making. And it’s a good move for him.”

Robert, Brian, Willie, Mike, and Q are content with remaining behind at Atlantic. “We cool, whatever works for your career. At the end of the day, as long as our Ts are crossed and our Is are dotted, we happy at Atlantic.”

As for what will happen to other Bad Boy artists like Cassie and Donnie Klang, “I have no idea,” Willie said. “It came as a surprise and I was just still excited about the interest in keeping Day26 [on Atlantic]. I gotta get past that first.”

Day26 remains confident and positive about what lies ahead. “It’s easy. It’s like going to any other label. You just gotta figure out the system there and how they work and who’s gonna be your A&R for this project, letting them know that you’re worthy of being there. Day26 has no problem with that. We will convince any record label that we’re worthy of being there.”

Mariah Carey was swimming in a sea of fans and photographers at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City on Tuesday (Sept. 29). MC was there to promote her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and fragrance Forever.

Mariah Carey stopped by Rockefeller Plaza on Tuesday (Sept. 29) to chat with the “Today” show hosts about her studio habits, advice from her mom, whose idea it was to cover Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and being a “thug princess.” MC will perform on Friday’s show.

Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel makes its way into stores today. Tricky Stewart, the hitmaker extraordinaire who had a heavy hand in producing the album, spoke to Didntinviteme.com about working with one of music’s biggest voices.

Tricky, along with The-Dream, previously collaborated with Carey on her 18th No. 1 hit “Touch My Body,” but the dynamic changed once the Grammy-winning duo was called in to produce the bulk of her latest project. “This time it was totally different because when you spend that much time with someone, you get a sense for who they are on their good days, on their bad days—the whole nine,” he explains.

The pop diva knows exactly what she wants when she hits the studio. “She’s definitely a perfectionist. You don’t get 18 number ones without being a slave to perfection. She always wants to be on top of her game at everything from the writing to the production to the vocals. Everything is about her giving her absolute best.”

The experience brought the two friends closer together. “There’s not a lot of people that can say that they have actually cultivated a friendship with Mariah Carey,” says Tricky. “I can definitely say we consider each other friends. I’ve been to her home several times at this point. It will always be one of my greatest memories making this album.”

Relive the memories on Mariah Carey’s 12th studio album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, available now.

Beyonce In Singapore

Two of the hottest women on the planet, Beyoncé and Nicole Scherzinger, made our hearts race when they met up before the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday (Sept. 26). The Pussycat Doll’s boyfriend, British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, gave the ladies a tour of the McLaren Mercedes garage at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Below is Beyonce "Crazy In Love" In SingaporeLive @ F1 Rocks:

She visited the kids in the cancer ward this afternoon before F1 in Singapore. (: It was really sweet of her. And the ward invited a few previous patients and a lot of current patients and their family to see her. She even signed a few autographs and went to talk to a few of the patients in the ward.

There were a lot of people singing along and screaming, it was so funny! The doctors and nurses I think were the most excited. ;) There were a few people who even stood on the counters.

Talk about a busy week for the Kardashian family! Just a day after sister Khloe tied the knot with L.A. Lakers player Lamar Odom, big sister Kim Kardashian officially reconciled with her NFL running back beau, Reggie Bush.

"They're totally back together for real," says a source close to the couple. "Kim and Reggie spent a few months apart getting their priorities together and figuring out who they were as individuals so they can make it work together."

The pair are so close that Bush's parents even attended Khloe's weekend wedding, the source adds.

Says another pal: "They are still very much in love."

Kardashian, 28, and Bush, 24, amicably split in July. They were spotted together in New Orleans just three weeks later, but did not reconcile at the time.

First Lady Michelle Obama says she can indulge in French fries and still have those famously buff arms – but it takes some work.

"I try to have no absolute no's," Obama, 45, tells the November issue of Prevention magazine. "I love French fries, I like a good burger, and I like pie. And that's okay. I would be depressed if I felt I could never eat the things that I love."

And there's a lot to love in the White House kitchen. "There are some great bakers here," she says. "If you like pie, it will be there always – at every meal. So for me, it's about setting up new boundaries. I had some challenges with that, but I'm balancing out."

A big part of that, the First Lady says, is her early-morning exercise regime. She varies her 4:30 am workouts with Pilates, cardio, stretching, and weights. "I enjoy arm exercises because you can see what it's hitting," she says.

A self-described "closet jock," Obama says she's been in the best shape during her 40s. "I've had more time [to work out] as my kids have gotten older. There was a period, actually right before the campaign started up, that I was really in tip-top shape. I was really there. And then my husband ran for president," she jokes.

The key, she says, is moderation. "I also don't want my girls to be obsessed about food," she says. "We don't have a 'no junk food' rule – I just want them to think about their choices. When my older daughter asks, 'Can I have pie?' I'll say, 'Did you have it yesterday? Well, what do you think?' And she'll come to the conclusion that, 'You know, you're right, I shouldn't eat pie every night.'"

A handful of reality show cameras and production crew may have surrounded them, but Lamar Odom insists his wedding to Khloe Kardashian was real, despite reports that it was a non-biding ceremony.

"It's crazy how perception works in America when you're looking at things from the outside," Odom, 29, told reporters at a press conference at the Lakers media day Wednesday.

Odom, who tied the knot with the 24-year-old reality TV star on Sunday after a one-month courtship, didn't want to talk about the wedding and appeared annoyed with questions focusing on the ceremony, though he did say that "anybody that was there will tell you that it was a beautiful event and it was real."

Those who weren't able to attend will get to see the wedding on a special episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which will air Nov. 8 at 9 p.m. on E!, the network announced.

As for the newlyweds' honeymoon, the couple will have to postpone their trip. Odom will be joining his teammates at training camp on Wednesday, with the preseason beginning Oct. 7 in a game against the Golden State Warriors.

Christina Milian and The Dream kept their engagement a secret and their sudden Las Vegas nuptials under wraps, but now they're ready to share their big day with family and friends.

According to a source, Milian and her singer-producer husband (real name: Terius Hagert Youngdell Nash), both 27, are planning another wedding to include everyone who missed the elopement. The couple even stopped into Sunset Plaza's Buttercake Bakery in LA last week for a private wedding cake tasting.

Their favorite? Vanilla. And they were looking at three-layer cake. "They seemed so happy," says a source. "They were so sweet and looked so in love."

The date of the ceremony wasn't known. A rep for Milian couldn't be reached for comment.

I love horror movies, that pretty much all I watch. "A Nightmare On Elm Street" is obviously a classic. I definitely want to see this remake, I'm sure it'll be entertaining as they seem to have included a bit more on the reason why Freddy is the way he is. But I mean come on, when are remakes ever better than the original? It's something about when I was a kid that still makes me afraid of the original!!!!! You'll have to wait till April 30th to see this.

Ciara has been laying low as of late, but for good reason. The R&B singer is well into recording her fourth album and we’ve got the exclusive details.

Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to DIDNTINVITEME in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”

The 23-year-old ATLien relocated to the West Coast to work on the album with Tricky and Dream, who crafted “High Price” and “Like a Surgeon” off this year’s Fantasy Ride. “She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.

The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”

Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”

The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with DIDNTINVITEME. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is the record with her and Dream together.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her best work yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business.”

Solange is about to enter a hairy situation. Even though she doesn’t understand the fuss over chopping her locks off, the 23-year-old singer is set to talk about the experience with Oprah.

Beyoncé’s younger sister will make her first appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Wednesday, September 30, to discuss her hair and why she decided to cut it all off. Photos of a nearly bald Solange were a hot topic on blogs when they surfaced in July.

The “I Decided” songstress previously addressed the situation on Twitter. “i. have. done. this. twice. in. my. life. i. was 16. i was 18. did. not care about your opinion. then. dont. care. now,” she tweeted. “i. just. wanted. to. be. free. from. the. bondage. that. black. women sometimes. put. on. themselves. with. hair.”

Oprah will also share her hair experiences on the episode, while Chris Rock promotes his new documentary, Good Hair.

Omarion is bouncing back from his ill-fated deal with Young Money. The R&B singer has announced a new partnership with EMI Label Services.

As part of the deal, the former B2K member will release his third studio album Ollusion and launch his own imprint, Starworld Entertainment, through EMI Label Services, home to Snoop Dogg, Norah Jones, and Coldplay.

The album, due November 24, features production from Tank, King, Detail, and 253, along with guest appearances from Gucci Mane and Fabolous.

The first single, “I Get It In,” was produced by Tank (2005’s “O”). The uptempo banger featuring Gucci Mane will officially impact radio on October 5, the same week Omarion embarks on a nationwide radio promo tour. A version of the song with Lil Wayne previously leaked.

“My style has evolved so much on this album—I was able to express truly who I am from a creative and artistic standpoint, which allowed me to share a personal side of myself with my fans through my music. This is my masterpiece and I can’t wait for the world to hear my new album,” the 24-year-old said in a statement. “I am very excited about my new home at EMI and know that this is the perfect opportunity for me to return to the charts.”

Omarion previously released two solo projects through Epic Records. He was introduced as the newest member of Lil Wayne’s Young Money crew at a Los Angeles show in August, only to part ways with the label a week later.
