Rihanna has been immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds wax museumin Washington, D.C. The pop star’s uncanny wax likeness appears on display in the nation’s capital alongside wax doubles of President Barack Obama, Madonna, Rosa Parks, Denzel Washington, and others.
In a tweet to Ryan Seacrest, she revealed that new music will be coming soon. The first single from her fifth studio album, due in November, is reportedly titled “Only Girl.” “In less than 10 dayz ima send u sumn special, and ur gonna play it OVER and OVER, like I’m the only girl in the world!” she wrote to Seacrest.
Rihanna is currently in Hawaii shooting her first major film role in Battleship. “HAWAII…Hawaii…hawaii……who wouldn’t want to work here for 2 weeks,” she tweeted.

Some High Quality Concert Footage of Beyoncé performing her single, "Video Phone," at the I Am Tour has surfaced. This is not footage from the upcoming Tour DVD but simply a clip shot by a fan.
You can check out the 28-year-old singer telling the crowd to get their video phones out before divulging in some heavy choreography. The DVD is rumored to be dropping this fall. I can imagine it being released around Christmas time, making it a common item on wish lists across the country. Enjoy the performance.

With Lil Wayne behind bars, someone's got to keep his Young Money record label relevant. Wayne's artist, Nicki Minaj, is doing just that.
On the mainstream scene for less than a year, Minaj has already won two BET Awards (for best female hip-hop artist and best new artist) and landed a No. 1 single with "Your Love" on the Billboard rap charts.
But the firecracker, 25, who spent the majority of her upbringing in Queens, N.Y., has a lot more to her than wild hair, a racy wardrobe and a foul mouth. Here are five things to know about Lil Wayne's protégé, Nicki Minaj.
1. She had a rough upbringing
Her lyrics may be silly and carefree, but growing up was anything but lighthearted for Minaj. "[My dad] drank a lot and did drugs, and would get violent when he did," she told Details in May. "He set fire to the house, [and] was attempting to kill my mother. She got out before it burned all the way down. I've always had this female-empowerment thing in the back of my mind…I thought, 'If I'm successful, I can change her life.' "
2. She has a thing for Charlize Theron
When asked about her celebrity crush, Minaj told PEOPLE it would have to be the Monster star. "She's a bad bitch," Minaj said about the A-lister, whom she hopes to meet someday. "I think she's really, really perky."
3. Lil Kim is not her biggest fan
Girl rappers of a feather don't necessarily flock together, as in the case of Minaj and Lil' Kim, who took jabs at Minaj during concerts, saying she's copying her style and needs "to pay homage" and show some respect. Fellow Young Money artist Drake stood up for his label-mate, saying the comments bothered him and he took them personally. "You don't have to do that. You don't have to get onstage and tell people to pay homage," he said.
4. She loves interacting with fans via Twitter
Boasting a following of more than a million people on the social networking site (A higher number than active Tweeters Spencer Pratt, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Cory Monteith), @NickiMinaj is known to chat up her fans and fan groups. "It says a lot that someone took the time to dedicate a page to me," Minaj told Details about her Twitter fans. "And it’s useful. Anything I do, they post a link to it right away. I don't need to Google myself."
5. She Was a fan of The Hills
When a Minaj follower on Twitter asked the rapper if she watches the now-defunct MTV hit series, she responded, "Yes! I was SO mad wen (sic) Justin Bobby cut his hair!" No one was more shocked about Minaj's taste in TV than the show's former star Kristin Cavallari. "I was really surprised at first that she even knew who we were," Cavallari tells PEOPLE. "But I think it's awesome because I am a big fan of hers as well."

Football Star Troy Polamalu’s Hair Now Insured for $1 Million
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 5:08 PMThe beauty brand has reason to keep Troy’s 35″ tresses under lock and key: Women and men across America are desperate for the secret to those Samoan curls, with some of his manliest teammates even trying to score the secret. “One guy in particular… is stealing all of my Head & Shoulder products,” he laughs. Taking 45 minutes pregame to care for his hair has become a ritual for the all-pro safety, who explains, “It’s correlated to what a warrior in the past would do to prepare for war. You have the Mongolians, the Japanese Samurai, the Spartans–all of these warriors with long hair…and in that way you can almost get into the mind-way, preparing for some type of battle when you are doing your hair.” After eight years without so much as a trim, would Troy ever consider cutting his signature locks? “With this big hair insurance–I don’t think so!” he says.

Paris Hilton's Explanation: I Thought the Cocaine Was Gum
0 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 5:05 PM"She had not seen it but now thought it was gum,” said an officer's report.
It turned out the baggie actually contained .8 grams of cocaine, and now Hilton faces felony drug-possession charges with a Oct. 27 arraignment.
While speaking to police following a weekend traffic stop, Hilton denied the baggie belonged to her. In fact, she said, the purse wasn't hers either; she had borrowed it from a friend.
But somehow, according to Hilton, the contents of the purse were split between hers and the friend's.
She claimed ownership of a broken Albuterol pill, Zig Zag wrappers commonly used to smoke marijuana, $1,300 in cash and credit cards. But, "She said several cosmetic items inside the purse were not hers," according to the police report.

“His music, his spirit represented love and peace around the whole world and it influenced me and what I do, so for me to come through, it’s just showing love and respect and paying homage to a great artist who meant so much to music in general and the people,” the rapper told the New York Daily News.

Kim Kardashian Brings Mom, Not Boyfriend, to Emmy Awards

Based on weekend estimates, the horror film The Last Exorcism grossed an estimated $21.3 million at 2,874 locations, enough to narrowly edge out Takers, which came in at No. 2 after earning $21 million at 2,206 theaters, according to studio estimates. At this rate, it should have no problem recouping its $32 million budget.
T.I., who stars in and produced the film, traveled across the country promoting his latest project, stopping in Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Las Vegas for premieres. A prequel was already being considered before the box office results.
Takers, which also stars Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez, and Zoe Saldana, focuses on a group of professional robbers who plan mind-blowing heists. When the recently-paroled member Ghost (played by Tip) rounds up the crew for one last sting, they have to dodge a pair of detectives (Dillon and Hernandez) intent on putting a stop to their theft.
“The storyline is a lot edgier. It has so many different dynamics. There are so many stories within the stories. With these characters, you get a little bit more back-story,” T.I. previously said of the comparisons between Takers and the similar flick Ocean’s Eleven. “And we’re younger and better looking.”
According to the latest box office receipts, Takers comes in at No. 1, besting The Last Exorcism. Final data released Monday shows Takers took in $20.5 million, compared with $20.4 million earned by Exorcism. “The real #’s are out and we did it!!! #TAKERS is #1!!!” tweeted a celebratory T.I.

Cannon gushed: "She's very nurturing. She's nurturing with me and makes me breakfast at anytime and that's my favorite food. It would be like 3 o'clock in the morning and she will still make me waffles. She'll be the best mom."
The 29-year-old star already has ideas about how he would raise his child.
He explained to People magazine: "I want to raise a child like the way I was brought up. Be someone who is stern but still fun loving and knows how to have a good time."
Nick insisted he has no preference as to whether he wants sons or daughters with Mariah, but he has concerns about approaching certain situations with each gender.
He added: "It's great to have a girl until she turns into a teenager. Then you have to worry about every other boy in the neighborhood and that would freak me out.
"With a boy, I'd be worrying about him breaking his arms and his legs. I was that type of kid. I was a daredevil so I'd be having to worry about that."
Earlier this week, Mariah posted a cryptic message on her website addressing rumors of her pregnancy. She wrote: "I appreciate everyone's well wishes. But I am very superstitious. When the time is right, everyone will know -- even Cindi Berger (Mariah's publicist)."
Despite their public silence, Nick and Mariah have reportedly been telling their friends they are "overjoyed" to be expecting a baby together.
A source said: "Nick has been telling friends how excited he is to be a dad. Mariah has tried so hard to get pregnant. She's very excited. She wants to wait as close to full term as possible before going public with the news to her fans."

Fantasia Barrino performs during the official release party for her new album, "Back to Me" at the Rain Nightclub inside the Palms Casino Resort early August 28, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Though it may not seem like a good collabo on paper, Fantasia and Snoop Dogg proved to be a deadly duo last night in Las Vegas, sharing the stage at the cushy nightclub Rain at the Palms. Rocking a glittery poncho, Fantasia performed for a packed house boasting celebrity guests including Demi Moore, who two-stepped along as the American Idol alumnus rocked the crowd right.
“Something happened to me not too long ago,” Tasia told the audience, making vague reference to her recent suicide attempt. “They thought I was finished, they thought I was done. They callin’ me out. But I will never ever stop, I don’t care what no one say about me.”
Snoop Dogg joined Fantasia on stage during a cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Rock Steady,” playing background vocals as the soulstress did her thing on the mic. “I’m stupid excited,” said the singer before taking the stage. “It’s been three years since I’ve been here.” She didn’t seem to disappoint.

Seems like a bevy of artists are taking to Twitter these days and having fun while doing it. Kanye West jumped on the bandwagon recently, earning a whopping 845,000 (and counting) followers since he first logged on the social networking site in July. Even 50 Cent went on a tweeting spree earlier this week, bashing his grandmother for forcing him to take out the garbage and accusing Tony Yayo of stealing some of his money, all in jest of course. Now, Rihanna is following in her hip-hop peers’ footsteps by reclaiming her Twitter account.
The “Love the Way You Lie” collaborator has had a page on the social networking site for quite some time, but it was apparent that the singer was never the one tweeting to her fans. With constant album promo messages and links to interviews, the less-than-personal exchanges were masterminded by a record label associate rather than Rihanna herself.
As of yesterday (Aug. 27), the Bajan chanteuse adamantly revealed she would be personally sending out tweets, which would be far from “corny.”

What They Wore: Romeo Celebrates his 21st Birthday in Louis Vuitton
1 comments Posted by J.R. Taylor at 7:24 PMPharrell Williams rocked out to a packed crowd in St. Tropez while wearing the Louis Vuitton Imola loafer ($560) in green vert suede ( also seen below in a carbone color). In a recent interview with GQ UK Pharrell discussed how he planned to retire the boat shoe for the moment, so I guess this is what he is on to now. The Imola loafer is from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection and features suede calf leather with boat shoe style knots accessorized with tassels and ruthenium finish LV cubes on a rubber nub sole.

Katy Perry was in top form on NBC’s Today Show this morning (Aug. 27), performing two of her hit songs off her latest album. With her great curves, black hair and bouncy bangs, she’s quickly becoming the modern equivalent of ’50s pin up Betty Page.
Perry loaded up the stage with fake clouds of cotton candy and backup dancers wore multi-colored ‘fros from her “California Gurls” performance of the song.
Perry has been going full-bore to promote the new album. The single “California Gurls” was released June 20; she has a video out and the album will drop on August 30.
In addition to making the talk show rounds, Perry let it all hang out — or at least almost all — in a photo shoot for Esquire magazine.
She debuted her new single live at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday (June 5). It’s her sexiest single yet and featured bikini-topped dancers.
Katy has one of the hottest bods in music and it looks like she intends to deploy all of her assets to move the record.
Katy said she was inspired to write a song about California after hearing Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s tribute to New York in “Empire State of Mind.” Shout out to my girls, the dancers. Follow them on Twitter! @dancingbrandee @pamelajeansmith @kherington @SarahMitchell__
