Mariah Carey Insisted Her Twins Be Born While Her Own Music Played
Posted by J.R. Taylor at 10:48 AM
Mariah Carey (FlynetPictures.com)Mariah Carey wasn't going to let her babies be delivered without a dramatic, glamorous backdrop. The diva singer insisted that her twins be welcomed into the world in synchrony to one of her famous songs. Or as hubby Nick Cannon coined the planned moment, it "was a production."
He said on The Gayle King Show this week: "Now my wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song, but a live performance from Mariah Carey -- her Madison Square performance of Fantasy -- so they came out to a round of applause."
Call it self-indulgent behavior, but one could argue it's for art's sake.
The parents welcomed their twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, on May 30th, and we can only imagine Mrs. Carey being burped on or having to wake up in the middle of the night to their cries. Or maybe she'll have an entourage trained for those duties.
