Caroline Giuliani, Rudy Giuliani's Daughter, Arrested on Shoplifting Charges

Caroline Giuliani, 20, is a student at Harvard University, who is still listed as living with her mother in Manhattan. The New York Post reported that the young woman was arrested at Sephora, a store on the Upper East Side, yesterday afternoon.
According to the Post, security cameras spotted Giuliani "stuffing" items into her jacket pockets. Store clerks confronted the woman, the police were called, abd Giuliani was placed into handcuffs.
When store owners discovered just who the young woman was, they attempted to back away from the charges, telling police they did not plan to press charges. But it was too late. "It was captured on camera," said a law enforcement source, speaking to the Post. "At some point the store indicated they knew who she was and that they were not going to press charges. The DA will decide whether to decline prosecution or not."
She was charged with peit larcerny, the term used when good stolen amount to under $500. Her mother met her at the police precinct, and she is now free. Her attorney, Michael Bachner,said to People magazine: "Caroline is a lovely young woman. Still, it would be inappropriate for me to comment while her matter is in the legal process."
