LeToya Luckett will shoot a video for “Not Anymore” on Friday in Los Angeles. The mini-movie will be directed by Bryan Barber (OutKast, The Game) and is the first single off the 27-year-old’s sophomore album Lady Love.

The treatment calls for nothing you’ve seen from the R&B songstress before, conceptually and visually. The video will be set in the early 1960s, but will have a modern feel similar to Barber’s video for Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man.”

Taking place on an old revival tour bus and “American Bandstand”-like stage, LeToya is the newest addition to a Motown record label and is burning up the charts, eventually moving on from the man who broke her heart and reveling in the ultimate revenge—success.

Kanye visits Big Boy's Neighborhood (Talks about Chris Brown,Rihanna, and Gay rumors) from qdeezy on Vimeo.
Kanye West stopped by the Big Boy's Neighbourhood radio show recently, opening up about the nagging gay rumors, as well as the current Chris Brown and Rihanna incident that has the media in overdrive.

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Three days after Rihanna was allegedly beaten by her boyfriend, Chris Brown, fans are filling her MySpage page with words of encouragement.

"YOU deserve BETTER," writes Jessica.

"I just want to say that I really hope you get better soon," says Morgan. "You are such a great and strong woman . . . . Turn your hurt into a song that can inspire everyone to be strong and it will get you through whatever life throws at you."

A fan named Leiahi'ena even offered the Barbados-bred singer (who hasn’t been seen in public since the Sunday morning incident) refuge in Hawaii.

"Keep shining that smile of yours!" says Leiahi'ena. "Need to get away for a while hit me back, my family owns some private beaches if you wanna wine down and relax with some of your family or friends."

Even celebrity pal Kanye West has spoken about the incident, telling Ryan Seacrest on his Tuesday radio show, "I feel like that's my baby sis and I would do any and everything to help her in any situation."

When it comes to their feelings about Brown (who is due in court March 5), Rihanna's fans offer mostly blunt words of advice.

It's finnally here, ubrey's Payboy Cover. O'Day recently spoke with MTV about the shoot. Check out an extract of the article:

"You could never imagine how empowering it is to be nude in front of cameras and have people looking at you in that way and seeing you as beautiful," she told MTV News. "You're seeing yourself as beautiful. I mean, a lot of the times I think I'm seen as a bad girl, and I think that's because I'm so open."

O'Day said that she agreed to the pictorial only after the magazine made Klinko available. He's snapped portraits of everyone from Mariah Carey to Pamela Anderson, in addition to the cover of Beyoncé's 2003 album Dangerously In Love, and O'Day knew he'd make her Playboy spread something to remember.

"I only agreed to do it because [Markus] was shooting it," she said. "He is unbelievably amazing. He agreed with me that we needed to do something classy, iconic and truly beautiful. I mean, I think a lot of the type of way I'm portrayed in the media isn't always the way I am in my heart. And I think that we were able to capture that with [this shoot].

"It's going to be very elegant, very iconic," she emphasized. "We wanted to do something very beautiful and classic. And I'm very excited about, just in general, how liberating the shoot was and how great it's going to be to express myself and be comfortable with my sexuality. I think in society we tend to put ourselves in boxes and corners and restrict ourselves, and we constantly feel the need to not say this or not wear this ... and taking it all off and being nude is the most natural state that you can be in."

And what does she think her detractors will say about the Playboy spread? Well, to be honest, she doesn't really care. Because she's not listening.

"I'm always gonna be true, whether people like it or not. I'm just gonna be me. I'm gonna be real. I'm not gonna do anything because people want me to. I'm not gonna hide something about me," she laughed. "I think people are scared to be who they are, and if anybody's gonna go out there and let everybody know, 'Be who you are ... no judgment here,' it's gonna be me."

It seems things really do seem to be on the up for Kelly Rowland. After redeeming herself in the public eye following her split from Mathew Knowles, the singer is reportedly the front-runner in the search for a new judge on Simon Cowell's X-Factor to replace Danni Minogue:

The race to replace judge DANNII MINOGUE is also hotting up, with KELLY ROWLAND, now the main contender if the Aussie is axed as expected.

Simon is keen for an American to sit next to him, Louis and CHERYL COLE — and the former DESTINY’S CHILD singer fits the bill.

The source added: “Simon wants his winners to break the States like LEONA LEWIS did, so having an American judge would help that.”

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Eddie Murphy has been ordered to pay his ex-girlfriend Mel B $50,000 a month for child support to their 22-month-old daughter Angel Iris.

An L.A. court ordered the 47-year-old funnyman to pay approximately $51,700 per month until Angel reaches 18 years old, which would total about $10.3 million.

He has also finally agreed to see his daughter.

Murphy and Mel B - real name Melanie Brown - have spent 15 months fighting in the Los Angeles courts. Both signed non-disclosure contracts, preventing them from discussing the settlements in public.

Murphy originally questioned the paternity of the child, while publicly dumping the former Spice Girl in a 2006 impromptu interview, saying, "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."

DNA test proved that he is indeed the father.

Angel Iris Murphy Brown was born on April 3, 2007, which is coincidentally also Murphy's birthday.

Britney Spears is a mega pop star, a mom of two – and now a happy homemaker in her new video, sources tell Didntinviteme.

The singer, who plans to hit the road for her Circus tour next month, spent Tuesday filming the video for her upcoming single "If U Seek Amy," in which she plays a sexy housewife dressed in blonde '50s style wig, fitted pink top and white skirt.

"The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked," says a source. "She acts like she wants to hook up. The video is very provocative."

In part of the video, Spears is accompanied by two adorable perfectly-groomed children and a straight-laced man wearing khakis and a sweater over his shoulders. But a source says there are also lots of dancers "dressed in skimpy outfits in metallic color" and revealing costumes for Spears included in the shoot.

According to several sources, Spears was very professional and upbeat on the set. "She was like the old Britney at the shoot. She was engaged and excited the whole day and seemed like her old self," says a source.

"If U Seek Amy" is the third single from the album Circus. Spears kicks off her new tour in New Orleans on March 3.

"Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital," the rep added. "No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time."

On Saturday night, Usher (full name: Usher Raymond) canceled his performance at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis's pre-Grammy Gala. Davis told partygoers the singer had to bow out due to a "serious injury in the family."

On Sunday, Davis, CEO of Sony Music Worldwide, told PEOPLE. "I talked to his mom [Jonetta Patton]. My thoughts are with them, whatever they're facing."

The couple, married since August 2007, have two children.

In an interview conducted last week, Jimmy Jam, of legendary production duo Jam & Lewis, revealed that he is currently working on the new Janet Jackson album. While not much else in the way of specific info was conveyed, it marks the first time since 2006's '20 Y.O' that Jackson and the duo have worked together. Am I the most excited person in this world or what?!?!?!?! Finally she have heard our cries begging her to go back to Jimmy & Terry. "If it's not broke, dont fix it" That's my motto!!

While Tyler Perry loves to play his signature role of Madea Simmons in his various films, they are not sequels. Each of those films have been successful, but many consider 'Why Did I Get Married?' his best work to date; which is why he is planning to do a follow-up with hopes for the return of original cast members, which includes Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Malik Yoba, Richard T. Jones and Michael Jai White.

While promoting his latest film, 'Madea Goes To Jail', which opens up on Feb. 20, Perry spoke to BlackVoices.com about the 'Married' sequel as well as his role in the upcoming 'Star Trek' film and his opportunity to be in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.'

Will there be another pairing with Tasha Smith?

Tyler Perry: 'Why Did Get Married Too?' I'm writing it right now.

Why do a sequel to the film?

TP: Because there is so much I want to say. There's not another film that I have written that I felt like there's more to say; and there's more say in 'Why Did I Get Married Too.'

Will it the same cast or a new group of actors?

TP: It will be the same cast. Everybody. I won't do it without the original cast.

What's the storyline?

TP: I can't talk about it now, but it's going to be great.

How fun was it to work on 'Star Trek'?

TP: It was really exciting. J.J Abrams is a fan and he called and asked me if I would be interested in doing the film and I was shocked. The timing was perfect and it was only a week. It's a really small role. It really helped me to see what it's like to be on someone else's set.

What's your role in the film?

TP: I'm the Commander of the Star Fleet. I run the school. I'm a pretty big guy, literally, and in the film.

Were you a 'Star Trek' fan?

TP: No, I only had two scenes with the two leads. I wasn't a trekkie, but after seeing the trailer, I may become one.

How was wearing the uniform? Did you get to keep it?

TP: Oh no. They were top secret about the uniform. We had to wear rain coats to cover them up so that they wouldn't be shot from the outside. This whole thing has been top secret, but it would be worth it when it comes out.

I know you mentioned that Abrams is a fan of yours, but considering you haven't acted in films outside of your own, did you wonder if he brought you on to bring in a large African American base to the film?

TP: I don't know if that is what he was thinking. Looking at him and talking to him, he is the Jewish version of me. He works on television and works on films. He does not stop. He writes as well. I was watching him work and rework the scene, and there's something about my story that is so similar to him in what I'm doing. I think it intrigued him as much as it intrigued me. I don't think that demographics was the case of me being in the film; because they would have given me a supportive role rather than just a cameo. I think it was about him feeling me out and me about him, and I think it worked out okay.

Was he the first to ask you to appear in a movie outside of your films?

TP: He was the first. It didn't make sense to do a movie that I can do myself. I don't want you to call me and ask me to do a film about a black family. I can do that myself. I don't want to be in your movie doing that. Now, if you want me to do 'Mission: Impossible', or 'Star Trek' or 'Wolverine', which I was called for but I couldn't do because I was doing 'The Family That Preys', but those sort of films, yes, I can do that.

You were called to do 'Wolverine'?

TP: Yeah. I was set to go to Australia but we couldn't work out the dates.

What part were you suppose to play? Was it the role that Will.i.am has in the film, John Wraith?

TP: Could be. I don't know.

After calling it quits last week, former 'America's Got Talent' host Jerry Springer has now been replaced by rapper-actor Nick Cannon.

The 28-year-old entrepreneur will serve as the host of the popular NBC reality competition's fourth season, alongside judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff.

It's quite evident that Mariah Carey's new husband has business "talents" as well.

In the wake of what could be a career-derailing controversy, platinum-selling R&B crooner Chris Brown has hired attorney Mark Geragos to represent him while he is under investigation over an alleged domestic violence dispute.

Geragos is best known as the media savvy legal eagle who defended convicted murderer Scott Peterson and music legend Michael Jackson during his child molestation trial.

The 19-year-old 'Run It' singer was booked Feb. 8 on felony criminal threats charges and posted $50,000 bail after turning himself in to the LAPD. According to numerous media outlets, his chart-topping singer girlfriend Rihanna (born Robin Fenty), 20, was the victim in the alleged assault, which reportedly took place in Brown's rented Lamborghini around 12:30 a.m. following music mogul Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party Saturday night.

Police said Brown and a woman were in a vehicle near the Hancock Park section of Los Angeles early Sunday

A spokesperson for Rihanna, who is also a Cover Girl cosmetics spokesperson, has remained mum about the ordeal, although details are conveniently leaking about alleged hospital treatments and other sordid details of the night.

"She has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time and, in that sense, I feel like that's my baby sis and I would do any and everything to help her in any situation," Kanye West said on Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show, 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest.' "I don't want to speak more into the specifics with that situation, but all I'll say is it's just so devastating."

He continued, "I feel like, just as a person, I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's, that should never happen. It should never come to that place."

Geragos, who hasn't released an official statement to the media, said he "just got chased by paparazzi" last night on his Twitter account and described the ordeal as "so crazy!"

Yesterday, Wrigley suspended its Doublemint ad campaigns featuring Brown. Brown, who records for the Jive/Zomba records label, was also featured in a splashy "Got Milk" campaign -- which is now under question.

"The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously," read a statement sent to TMZ from America's Milk Processors. "We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown's ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week."

To add insult to injury, a 2007 magazine story has resurfaced with Brown admitting to a history of domestic abuse in his family.

In the said article, Brown recalls telling his mother at the age of 11 that some day he would go to jail by age 15 for killing his abusive stepfather. "I just want you to know that I love you," he told her. "But I'm gonna take a baseball bat one day while you at work, and I'm gonna kill him."

Even though it appears that folks like Diddy and Jermaine Dupri are taking a break from throwing parties for the 2009 NBA All Star Weekend, there will be plenty of celebs getting their party on in Phoenix. Most folks are starting off the weekend right on Thursday night partying with Baby Bash (Club Rain), Young Jeezy (Sugar Daddy's), and the start of the NBA All-Star Block Party which is a free event at US Airways Center.

On Friday, Snoop Dogg will be at Club Rain, Jazzy Jeff and Fabolous will be at the W Scottsdale Hotel, Chamillionaire will be partying with the Playboy Playmates at Barcelona Scottsdale and Amare Stoudemire will be throwing a party at his restaurant, Stoudemire's Downtown, to celebrate the launch of his record label, Hypocalypto Records.

Saturday will host parties from Dwyane Wade and Common at the W Scottsdale Hotel, Amare with T.I. and Keri Hilson at Chase Tower, Ludacris at Sugar Daddy's, and Snoop Dogg at Barcelona Scottsdale.

The weekend finally ends on Sunday after the All-Star game with parties at the W Scottsdale Hotel with Talib Kweli, DJ Irie and DJ Solomon, Stoudemire's Downtown with Amare, Jason Richardson and Matt Barnes, Club Rain with Busta Rhymes, and Sugar Daddy's with Jim Jones. Compared to past All-Star Weekends, this one seems a bit low key. Recession perhaps?

"You guys know your president right? You know the one with the big ears. Yeah, wait a minute, he ain't my president, he might be yours. I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song, she gonna get her ass whipped. The great Beyonce! Now like I said, she ain't mine. I can't stand Beyonce! She had no business up there singing. Singing on a big ole, big ole president day and going be singing my song that I've been singing forever."– 71-year-old Blues legend Etta James dogged both President Barack Obama and singer Beyonce Knowles during a recent concert performance.

James, who Knowles played in the film 'Cadillac Records,' apparently felt snubbed by not being invited to sing her own song, 'At Last,' at the Neighborhood Ball during the Presidential Inauguration where the president and his wife Michelle Obama had their first dance. I can't........ 1st Aretha and now Etta? You know if you older legendary divas feel threaten or some kind of way because you see another legend/icon in the making then shame on you. Maybe the checks slowed down and u need some press? Whatever the case you need to embrace our young black performers, especially the talented ones with class, that WILL be legendary, because with or without Mama Etta, or "Queen" Aretha's blessing we all know Bee Will be a Legend. It just sucks for Bee because you can tell she respects and honor these ladies who paved the way for her, and to be challenged, or talked about by them has to hurt. It's like if Micheal Jordan talked shit about Kobe, or Martin Luther King talked about Obama. It's a shame. My advice to Bee is brush it off because you must be doing something right to have a 71 year old woman talk sh*# about you. And just look to other Legends like Tina, Diana, & Patti that have some class & grace.

Here's what Etta had to say about a year ago when Bee was preparing to portray her in Cadillac Records:

"It’s a privilege and an honor to have somebody like that girl. I don’t think she looks like me, but that’s all right. They can fix that up…I wasn’t as bourgie as she is, she’s bourgeois. She knows how to be a lady, she’s like a model. I wasn’t like that… I smoked in the bathroom in school, I was kinda arrogant, so those are some of the things I would want to tell her."

So to go from saying "It's a privilege" to "she gonna get her ass whipped" is CRAZY.........

Upon being notified that your child had been found dead in the bathroom of his elementary school, the least you would expect is full disclosure about the circumstances of the tragedy, right? Well, 10-year-old Aquan Lewis was found dead, hanging from a coat hook in the bathroom of his elementary school. The Cook County medical examiner labeled Aquan Lewis' death a suicide, but the family complains that getting some information has been like pulling teeth:

Aquan Lewis, a fifth-grader at Oakton Elementary, was found unresponsive and hanging from a hook at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. He was pronounced dead Wednesday morning at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Speaking to reporters at Evanston-Skokie School Dist. 65 headquarters at noon, police and school officials steadfastly refused to discuss even the most basic details.

After protest by the family, the investigation into Lewis' death continues.

"It's devastating," said school board member Jerome Summers. "Nobody anticipates the death of their child when they send their kid to school."

After repeated questions from parents and reporters, officials admitted that other students are being talked to about the boy's death.

Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther said they are talking to anyone who may be "germane to the investigation."

Questions about the boy being found hanging from a coat hook were largely ignored by officials, at that time.

Todd Smith, an attorney for the Lewis family said, however, "It is our understanding the boy was found hanging on a hook and (his absence) had gone unnoticed for a substantial amount of time."

Nearly 24 hours after the boy was found, neither police nor school officials could say where the boy was supposed be -- either in gym or his classroom -- at the time he was found.

I do not understand why no school official even knows where this child was supposed to be while he was in fact hanging in the bathroom. What a shocking and sad admission.

After a series of delays, which saw Eve's last album 'Here I Am' eventually shelved, the rapper has confirmed the album has been re-branded, is now titled 'Flirt' and will be in stores later this year:

In an interview with the New York Post’s PopWatch blog, the West Philly MC blamed her disc’s repeated setbacks on her “whole music label situation” with Interscope, but said it should finally surface this spring or summer.

Initially set to hit stores in 2007 under the title Here I Am, the rapper/actress said the LP has undergone many changes. “It won’t be called ‘Here I Am’ anymore,’ she said. “Now it’s called ‘Flirt.’” In addition Eve says the music will be a lot more positive then her original effort. “I had to get in there and put in some upbeat music that I wasn’t depressed about,” she said of the new tracks. “It’s fun, it’s sexy, it’s totally me. Imagine if ‘Tambourine’ had kids — that’s what the CD sounds like.”

Despite the constant rescheduling and the new musical direction of the album, the former Ruff Ryder is confident that she won’t disappoint. “I am truly, truly sitting on some amazing music.”
