She might be on her summer vacation, but Angelina Jolie is still hard at work. Thursday, on behalf of the UN Refugee Agency, Jolie toured a camp on the outskirts of Baghdad where she visited four families displaced due to violence in the country.

One family in particular touched the mother-of-six. Jolie sat with a family of nine, rocking a newborn covered in a rash, while asking questions. Do they wanted to return to their former home district? "No way," one daughter-in-law replied. "Our neighbors returned and their three daughters were killed. Why is this happening to us?"

Pledging to return to Iraq, Jolie said, "They are right to feel that it is not fair." Adding to the family: "I want to come back and find you in a better place and in a different situation. You need help not because you are poor, but because you are the future of Iraq."

"The picture in this camp is a rough one but there are also some people that were able to return home to other safer areas," Jolie said later. "There are some changes. There are returns of displaced people, not a big number but there is progress."

Ever hopeful, she added, "This is a moment where things seem to be improving on the ground, but Iraqis need a lot of support and help to rebuild their lives."
