Chris Brown has received "an extremely favorable" report from officials overseeing his probation, a Los Angeles judge said Thursday.

Judge Patricia M. Schnegg acknowledged that Brown has completed more than 100 hours of community labor so far, and seven domestic violence counseling sessions.

"We have a progress report and it's extremely favorable," Judge Schnegg said. "That's excellent."

Brown, 20, who attended the hearing, was sentenced in August to six months of community labor for his felony assault on Rihanna, 21.

That amounts to more than 1,400 hours of washing cars, removing graffiti and cleaning and maintaining grounds in his home state of Virginia.

He was also sentenced to five years probation, a year of domestic violence classes, and ordered not to contact Rihanna for the next five years. He has since publicly apologized for his actions.

Rihanna, who recently broke her silence about the Feb. 8 beating, told Diane Sawyer how she eventually broke things off with Brown, and how she feels about him today.

"Love doesn't go away right away," Rihanna said. "He didn't accept that very well. Obviously he didn't want us to be apart. But I had to make a decision for me."

She added: "I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn."

Another progress review for Brown is set for Feb. 18.
