Kelly Rowland Update!

After dancing to the top of the charts with French DJ David Guetta last summer and co-hosting Bravo’s “The Fashion Show,” the future looks bright for Kelly Rowland.

The Destiny’s Child alum has been locked up in the studio recording her third solo album. While details remain scarce, one producer’s involvement is a sure bet. Jim Jonsin, the hitmaker behind Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams,” Pitbull’s “Hotel Room Service,” and Amerie’s “Swag Back,” has added his magic touch to Ms. Kelly’s project.

“I’ve been working on her album with [songwriter] Rico Love,” Jonsin tells our friends over at Rap-Up.com. “We’ve done four songs.”

Fans of her David Guetta collaboration, “When Love Takes Over,” will be in for a treat. “She’s doing a pop-house and R&B sound, like a mixture,” Jonsin reveals. “It’s really cool. Some uptempo stuff, some ballads, all around really nice—more like a Donna Summer sound.”

Although Rowland, who was formerly signed to Columbia Records/Music World Entertainment, hasn’t officially announced a new label deal yet, Jonsin dropped a hint as to where she may end up. “I believe she’s in talks with Universal Motown right now, and a couple others.”

But not having a label home hasn’t stopped the 28-year-old singer from moving forward. In addition to readying her own album, she has also reunited with Nelly for a sequel to their 2002 smash “Dilemma.”
