Jay Leno left 'em laughing as he performed his final monologue from The Tonight Show stage Friday, taking time to thank those who made his show successful – Monica Lewinsky, Michael Jackson, and Bill Clinton – and to reflect on how much time has passed since he first took over the stage from his mentor Johnny Carson in 1992.
"When we started this show," Leno told a cheering crowd in the standing-room-only studio in Burbank, "my hair was black and the president was white. When we started the show, Jon and Kate were both eight."
Before his successor, the younger, taller and visibly more nervous Conan O'Brien, took a seat on the couch next to him, Leno noted that the same security guard who has checked him in for the last 17 years offered the same greeting as he drove a blue Corvette onto the studio lot Friday night: "And you are?"
As for souvenirs, Leno said, "NBC has been nothing but great. [President and CEO of NBC Universal] Jeff Zucker said for $40, I can purchase the robe that's hanging in my dressing room."
After tonight, which marked the 3,775th Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the host said, "I'm going to be going to a secluded spot where no one can find me – NBC prime time."
Leno's new hour-long comedy show will premiere on NBC at the 10 p.m. timeslot on a date to be announced in September.

Rihanna is scheduled to attend a court hearing next month as a possible witness in the assault case against Chris Brown.
According to Usmagazine.com, Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, says that his 21-year-old client will be subpoenaed by prosecutors to testify at Brown’s preliminary hearing in Los Angeles on June 22.
On Thursday, a judge denied a motion by Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, to require the LAPD to release confidential records to determine who leaked a photo of a beaten Rihanna to the media.
The 20-year-old “Run It!” singer has pleaded not guilty to assault and criminal threats charges stemming from the February incident.

With only two days to go before he reports to prison, T.I. bid adieu to 16,000 fans with a Final Countdown concert at Atlanta’s Philips Arena on Sunday.
“I’m going to stand up tall, head up high,” the King of the South told the packed crowd. “Thank you for all of your support.”
Tip ran through his hits including “What You Know,” “Bring ’Em Out,” “Whatever You Like,” and “Live Your Life.” He was joined onstage by Soulja Boy Tell’em, Bobby Ray (aka B.o.B.), Big Kuntry King, Maino, and Pee Wee, one of the troubled teens he mentored on MTV’s “Road to Redemption.” At one point, he brought his five kids onstage, while he performed “No Matter What.”
Tip must report by noon Tuesday to the Federal Correction Institution in Forrest City, Ark., to serve 366 days on weapons charges. He is eligible for a 15 percent “good time” credit, which would reduce his sentence by 55 days.
“What I need y’all to do is pray for me while I’m gone,” he said before exiting. “I’ll see y’all in 366 days.”

Nick Cannon may have cooled off since his war of words with Eminem, but he’s not backing down.
A heated Nick reacted in a lengthy blog post after Eminem called him a “punk” and his wife, Mariah Carey, a “c*nt” and “f***in’ whore,” on his new song “Bagpipes from Baghdad.”
The blog rant was removed from Nick’s site soon after it was posted. “I felt like I said what I had to say,” the “Wild ‘N Out” star tells Entertainment Weekly. “I didn’t take [the post] down, like, Oh, somebody instructed me to do it or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it.”
The reason for the missing entry, Nick explains, was because of the heavy traffic the page received, causing his website to crash. “There’d be thousands and thousands of comments and people couldn’t leave comments on other posts or any of that stuff. So that was the only reason why I took it down.”
He claims he doesn’t have any regrets about what he said about Eminem. “I feel exactly the same way by it and stick by everything, but I think it’s one of those things where it becomes that it’s not really that big of a deal, you know?”
As for beef between the two, Nick says there is none. “I never even considered it as beef. It’s not beef. It’s just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say.”

Despite Drake’s denial of a romantic relationship with the Barbados beauty, the rapper-singer shouted out RiRi during one of his recent shows in Toronto: “Shout out to Rihanna. I love you, baby.” Seems he was joking. IDK but, I will be @ his concert tonight and see if I see Ri-Ri.
The man accused of murdering rapper Dolla has pleaded not guilty.
Aubrey Louis Berry entered the plea to murder and assault charges in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday. The 23-year-old Atlanta resident remains in jail on $5 million bail. His lawyer claims the shooting was self-defense.
Dolla, 21, was killed while waiting in the valet area at the Beverly Center shopping mall in Los Angeles on Monday. The suspect was arrested later that day trying to board a flight out of LAX.
The rapper, born Roderick Anthony Burton II, was preparing to release his debut album Another Day, Another Dolla on Akon’s label.
Akon released a statement to ABCNews.com on Tuesday. “Dolla was part of the Konvict Entertainment family and an incredible artist. This is a senseless crime and the industry has lost a real talent. Our heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans.”

T.I. may not be headed to prison this Tuesday after all. The rapper has asked to delay serving his time so he can be reassigned to a minimum-security prison camp closer to his home in Atlanta.
T.I. is currently scheduled to check into prison on May 26 in Forrest City, Ark. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. has requested for a two-week delay to resolve the issue with the Bureau of Prisons.
Tip’s lawyers said he should be allowed to serve his time in a prison camp instead of a detention facility in Arkansas. T.I. was assigned to the Forrest City prison because he had a prior offense that was designated as a serious violent felony. The prior offense “amounted to little more than a ‘scuffle’ at a mall,” the motion said.
AJC also reports the difference between prison camps and detention facilities. Prison camps are minimum-security institutions with dorm housing, low staff-to-inmate ratios, and limited or no perimeter fencing, whereas low-security prisons, like the one in Forrest City, are double-fenced with higher staff-to-inmate ratios. Both types of facilities have inmate work programs.
T.I. was sentenced to serve a year and a day for weapons possession and being a convicted felon with a firearm.
