Michael Jackson UK Comeback Show

When Michael Jackson returns to the stage for the first time in 12 years, he will be armed with a few new moves.

The King of Pop is developing a move that he hopes will be as distinctive as the moonwalk, according to the Los Angeles Times. “He’s working on it,” hints Randy Phillips of concert promoter AEG Live. “I’m sworn to secrecy.”

Jackson has been rehearsing four days a week in Burbank, Calif., for his “This Is It” concerts, which kick off July 8 at London’s O2 Arena. He is collaborating with High School Musical choreographer Kenny Ortega, who directed his Dangerous and HIStory tours, as well as 10 dancers.

“It’s going to be the biggest, most technologically advanced arena show—and the most expensive—ever mounted,” Phillips says of the $20 million-plus production, which will include up to 22 different sets and 18 to 22 songs.

In addition to the new dance routines, the farewell spectacular may feature other surprises such as a duet with Jackson’s eldest son, Prince Michael, MJ look-a-likes, and Cirque du Soleil-inspired theatrics.
