Kelly Rowland is heating up the summer with her dance floor-ready single “Commander,” but has decided to wait until the fall to release her new album.
The Destiny’s Child alum has pegged September 21 as the release date for her self-titled third effort, Rap-Up.com has learned. This is a week later than the September 14 date that had been previously reported.
The lead single “Commander” is currently in rotation, while the U.S. will receive the Ne-Yo-penned “Grown Woman” and Dr. Luke-produced “Rose Colored Glasses” as follow-ups. The latter will be available to download on June 29 via iTunes.
“It has a modern Donna Summer feel with definitely more of a thump,” Kelly told Rap-Up TV of the dance-infused disc, for which she has also worked with Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, David Guetta, and Stargate.
Other tracks expected to make the cut include “Shake Them Haters Off,” “On & On (The Sound),” and “Forever and a Day.”
