Look of the Day: Angelina Jolie in Versace

Angelina Jolie (Getty)The asymmetrical gown Angelina Jolie wore to the Japan premiere of Salt was both surprising and not. It had all the makings of a typical Angelina dress, from the blouson draping to the basic black hue, but was at the same time a departure from the typical look, thanks mostly to a slit up to there.

Needless to say, Jolie looked radiant in the Versace frock, which showcased much of her impressive collection of tattoos. She paired the dress with Gucci peep-toe pumps and a slightly teased updo—a rarity for Jolie, who usually wears her long brown hair down in sweeping waves.

Jolie is an enthusiastic Versace fan; She won her 2000 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a black gothic gown by the luxe Italian brand.
