Halle Berry (Getty Images)Compiled by the Los Angeles Times Magazine, Halle Berry landed the number five spot thanks to her role as a Bond girl inDie Another Day, closely followed by new mother Penelope Cruz – who gave birth to her first child with Javier Bardem last month – in 11th place.
With the likes of Jennifer Connelly, Kim Basinger and Anne Hathaway all making the top 20, the trio were joined by Hollywood legends Farrah Fawcett, Ava Gardner and Faye Dunaway, while Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe were voted in at number 22 and 32 respectively.
Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively was the youngest star on the list at the age of 23, while Oscar-nominated Black Swan star Natalie Portman, Slumdog Millionaire beauty Freida Pinto and Julia Roberts also made the top 50.
However, 55-year-old French actress Isabelle Adjani - known for her roles in Queen Margotand Possession - eclipsed all the other women in the poll by claiming the top spot.
