Lady Gaga (Getty Images)Lady Gaga has broken off a business deal with retail giant Target after it failed to comply with her demands that the company change its policies on political donations, The Advocate reports. Target was set to release an exclusive version of Gaga's upcoming album, Born This Way, but apparently things fell through.

"She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered) community," an unnamed source told The Advocate.

Minnesota-based Target came under fire by LGBT supporters last year when it was revealed they donated to Minnesota Forward, a group that supported gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer, who supported a state constitutional amendment that would only recognize marriages and civil unions between one man and one woman. Gaga previously said her deal with Target hinged on a change in the company's policies.

"Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past ... our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those [antigay] groups," she told Billboardmagazine.
