Keri Hilson taught New Yorkers how to do the “Pretty Girl Rock” for Thanksgiving. Riding on My Princess Academy’s “Castle of Dreams” float, the pretty-in-pink songstress sang and danced to her No Boys Allowed single in front of Macy’s Herald Square for the 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Surrounded by young women, the “new member of music’s royalty” performed her female empowering anthem high above a pink castle.

“What’s crazy about being in the parade is that it’s such a huge part of a lot of family’s traditions but mine as well,” Keri told Music Choice. “Every Thanksgiving we wake up and watch it. It’s just special, it’s really special.”

Forget the floats and marching bands. Kanye West was the main attraction at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Followed by an introduction from his favorite journalist Matt Lauer, Kanye stormed the streets of Manhattan for a brief performance atop the New York Daily News float. Clad in a black peacoat, fur vest, shiny gold shirt, gold chains, and headband, the rapper lipsynched (as most do) the words to his Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album closer “Lost in the World.” Get lost with Mr. West below.
