Kim Kardashian has apparently hit another high note.

After the news hit last month that the reality starlet, 30, has teamed up in the recording studio with musical hit-maker The Dream, one of Kardashian's friends says her songs are coming along very nicely.

"Of course I've heard her sing, and I'm very impressed with her voice," La La Vazquez told our friends over @PEOPLE Sunday at the Hollywood Style Awards in Los Angeles. "It's not that I didn't think she could sing before, but it just wasn't something that we talked about.

Vazquez, 31, the star of VH1's La La's Full Court Wedding credits The Dream for giving her pal the guts to exercise her vocal chops.

"I think it takes somebody to bring out your confidence in something like that," she says. "And The Dream is an amazing producer, and I think it gave her the courage to go out there and try it."
