When the video for Miley Cyrus' new single "Who Owns My Heart?" debuted last week, it was immediately controversial for all the teen sexuality bubbling under the surface of the club dance imagery. Maybe Miley will be able to ditch some of the controversy when she turns 18 next month, but for now she has to deal with the Parents Television Council.

Miley Cyrus grinds with guys and girls in a club dance scene in the video for "Who Owns My Heart?". (From the video for "Who Owns My Heart?")The PTC issued a statement over the weekend condemning the video, which opens on an underwear-clad Miley lying on a bed and wearing a blindfold.

"It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one," reads the statement. "It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly."

The ironic kicker to the PTC's tsk tsking is that Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, sits on the conservative watchdog group's advisory board! With all the support he's shown Miley, it's hard to believe the former country heart-throb would go along with the PTC on this.

Check out the video below and see what you think.
