Watch out world. There’s a new kid on the block. Willow Smith, the nine-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, is in a class of her own in the breakout video for her empowering anthem “Whip My Hair,” the first single from her Roc Nation debut. The pint-sized fashionista rocks the school halls while whipping her hair back and forth in the vibrant Ray Kay-directed clip (Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga).
“I think this video will be considered iconic in the future,” Ray tells Rap-Up.com. “Willow is definitely here to stay, she’s a superstar. I think we managed to create a fresh expression using Willow’s amazing energy, a positive and inspiring concept, and mixing the colors of the sets with Willow’s fashion, which consisted of custom-made clothing and exclusive One Z jumpsuits. She’s a trendsetter already and I’m sure others will be copying her style soon!”
Whip open the video below and witness the birth of a star.
