Posted by J.R. Taylor at 2:55 AM
Season two 'American Idol' winner Ruben Studdard has landed a new deal with Sony/ATV's Hickory Records in partnership with 19 Entertainment.
'American Idol' contestant Elliott Yamin is also signed to the label.
Currently on the road touring in the revival of the Broadway musical, 'Ain't Misbehavin'' alongside fellow 'American Idol' contestants Frenchie Davis and Trenyce, Studdard unveiled his new single 'Together' on AOL Music last week. The song will be available in retail outlets come March 17.
The 31-year-old crooner will release his fourth CD, 'Love Is,' on May 17.
The set will boast production from the likes of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson/Mary J. Blige), among others.
The Birmingham, Alabama-bred singer has released three additional albums – 2003's 'Soulful,' 2004's 'I Need An Angel,' and 2006's 'The Return.'
In other Studdard news, the Grammy nominee is facing trouble with the IRS. New reports indicate that the IRS has filed another tax lien against the singer, who BV Buzz previously owed nearly $200,000 in alleged unpaid taxes.
