Doing a film on black soldiers during WWII, in 'Miracle at St. Anna,' wasn't enough for director Spike Lee. The Hollywood Reporter states that Lee and his company, 40 Acres and a Mule, has acquired rights to Brendan Koerner's 'Now the Hell Will Start,' the true story of a black private who went native in a Southeast Asia jungle during the war. Penguin Press published the book last summer.

In this astonishing thriller, Koerner tracks the story of Pvt. Herman Perry, a soldier from Washington, D.C., who, after shooting a commanding officer, goes AWOL and becomes assimilated into tribal community.

'Miracle at St. Anna,' which stars Michael Ealy, Derek Luke, Omar Benson Miller and Laz Alonso will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Feb. 10th.
