Bring ’em out, bring ’em out. Jay-Z had his hometown of New York City throwing up the diamond during the Madison Square Garden stop on his “BP3” tour Tuesday (March 2). Where else could you spot Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow, LeBron James, Diddy, and Lil Wayne, on the eve of his incarceration?
The surprises began with Fabolous, who hit the stage with opening act Trey Songz for “Say Aah.” Following the first half of Jay-Z’s super-charged performance, the Young Money crew ambushed Young Jeezy’s set. First up was Nicki Minaj, who did her verse from “BedRock,” followed by Weezy, who brought the sold-out audience to its feet with “I’m Goin’ In,” and Drake, who cranked up the decibels, joining his mentor onstage. The guest list was not complete without an appearance from Akon (“Soul Survivor”).
The King of New York returned to the stage with more crowd pleasers, but he didn’t need any special guests to prove who runs this town.
