Sarah Jessica ParkerWhat would Sex and the City be without the sartorial adventures of heroine Carrie Bradshaw, dressed one day in Vivienne Westwood haute couture and in a tattered vintage tee the next? Ms. Bradshaw, of course, takes her style cues as much from leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker as she does from stylist Patricia Field, who together cooked up nearly 60 wardrobe changes for the chick flick's much-anticipated sequel.
But, sigh, not all 60 looks made it into the film's final cut. In SATC2, Carrie wears only about 48 outfits—only! So, that's 48 outfits in just 146 minutes. In other words, just over three minutes for every costume change. That must be some sort of record!
The rest of the ensembles (again sigh) wound up on the cutting room floor. There might have been more but, says SJP, the crew was "not able to find a good enough reason to change clothes on camera, which is what I would do if they would let me." Nevertheless, Parker promised Access Hollywood plenty of fashion candy for clotheshorses to glut on:
My favourite is when Carrie runs into Aidan in the Souk and I'm wearing an old vintage J'Adore Dior T-shirt and the underpinnings of a Zac Posen dress. Not the dress itself, but rather the petticoat and a pair of Manolos that were made for the movie.Dior, Manolos and petticoats, oh my!
